Friendship

I am so blessed with the most wonderful friends. Last week some were still celebrating my birthday although it was a month ago! After getting over the aging thing I decided I quite like an extended birthday:)

And with friends in mind I created a journal page around a song I couldn't get out of my head recently.  I'll be linking my page here

http://art-journal-journey.blogspot.com/2016/04/for-record-inspired-by-song.html

where I am guest host this month with the theme of "For The Record" - be inspired by a song. There's still LOTS of time to play and join in-the entries have been amazing, and some (like me) have been linking the song video too for added pleasure!

 My journal page:

Background is gesso resist and Distress Stains. The girl images are old stickers I had in my stash. I just wish I was more consistent with getting clear photos-sorry, not my forté. Here's the song: Enjoy!

I am also linking to Moo Mania for the theme of "music".

Another dear friend Lynne took me for lunch and gifted me with a few things including this new mug:

aren't those bunnies adorable? I have always loved bunnies and it has been my nickname for many years:) Sharing my new mug and coffee with the gang at T Stands For Tuesday.

And during lunch out with Lynne she  surprised me with this:

a Mexican dark chocolate and peanut butter frosting cake with candle and confetti! Now, she knows as most do that I very rarely eat dessert and knew I wouldn't order it so she pre-planned  with this cake knowing that my hubby and son love it- once home it was gone in no time flat-and no I did not have any!

Spring has completely arrived so we spent this weekend bringing out the patio furniture (yay!) candles, and bubbles ( yes, I love playing with bubbles); hubby cut the grass again; and then the garden plot shared with our next door neighbors was cleaned up and tilled. We enjoyed a nice dinner of salmon and sweet potatoes on the grill along with the last of the kale from the garden that provided for us since last summer! Now I can't wait until I can start buying and planting flowers. It still is a bit too early in these parts...

Do you plant a garden? Has spring arrived at your door in your parts of the northern hemisphere?

I'll be back by Friday with another music inspired journal page along with a page just for  Earth Day. See you then, and have a fabulous week!

  2. Wow- your page is so appropriate. You are a very lucky lady to have such good friends. I think I would eat some of that cake though. It sounds so yummy. We also had nice weather this weekend and worked in the yard. The hubby was power washing the deck and my garden fence for me. Now I just need to repaint it. Sounds like you are all ready for summer. How exciting:) Hugs-Erika

  3. I am in awe of your AJJ page. It is truly wonderful. Since I can't get YouTube to load on my computer, I was unable to add the songs, even though I considered adding a link. I think adding the music you created the art for is a brilliant idea, though.

Your bunny mug is beyond adorable. I love it. It's always wonderful when you receive a personalized gift like that.

That cake is incredible. Sorry, but I would have eaten the WHOLE thing! It looks fantastic.

Thanks for sharing your lovely art, your beautiful bunny mug, and your extended birthday cake with us for T this soon-to-be Tuesday. And I'll wish you another happy birthday because it's fun to have extended birthdays!

  5. Love your sweet journal page Linda... and good for you still enjoying your birthday and celebrating your good friends.

The mug is so cute.... how DID you resist the cake? I don't think I could have :)

How lovely that you are getting your garden ready and you ate outside. We've had some warm days but are still getting some really chilly ones and still having frosts :(

Bubbles? The type you blow ?

I'm decorating this week... but hopefully I will get to spend some time getting the garden ready. It feels good to be able to hang the washing outside again.

Hope your week is lovely :)

  8. First of all: A WONDERFUL page to this gorgeous song Linda and the mug is soo lovely.. my daughter and I enjoyed those book so much as she was a little one.. and even today we often tell each other that we love each other to the moon and back... thinking of this book that is so lovely! Your cake looks fabulous and I am happy that watching pictures of cakes doesn't count calories... I had a big chocolate cupcake as an extra on Sunday and half a kilo is back now.... grrr...
Yes .. here in Austria is spring ... but just always for a few days and then coldness again.... I did the most of my gardening (just two floerbeds here to prepaire - and that's more than enough for me) and I hope it will get really warm soon- would be great to sit out in the sun again.I wear my wellies since over a year for dogwalking because all other shoes get wet including all sorts of goretex - no chance with all the wetness ... so much rain always!!!
    Happy T-Day!!!

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend.
Here in the UK its spring-like today warm and sunny and the birds happy and singing - but tomorrow it could easily change and be more like winter - roll on Summer!
    Have a good week

  20. belated happy birthday Linda, I'm glad you had such a lovely long celebration and your friends spoiled you as much as they did. Great choice of song for the theme!
Lucky you that spring has arrived - it sort of has here but it's still very cold (hats and gloves still on during our dog walks!) but at the same time all the daffodils are out and buds are growing on all the plants and trees in the garden. A bit more warmth would be nice though!
