Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes

Oh yes, time changes - it is dark now an hour earlier :(. We are on the brink of having a new president with Election Day Tuesday which is certainly going to bring about changes! I WON"T be watching or listening to the news all day and will only tune in once all is said and done. Instead I will listen to music and have an art day. What about you?

The new theme this month over at Art Journal Journey is "collage-with a twist. No faces,no wings, no leaves."  The theme was chosen by the very talented Susi who has been sharing so many beautiful collage spreads almost on a daily basis! And  Valerie has come up with a super clever way to work around the "no faces" aspect. Do have a look and see!
I've been working on a few pages at one time and have my first one to share today. Here's how it began:

Look at that messy desk! For T Stands For Tuesday you can see my covered tea mug to the right. Tulsi Honey Chamomile tea :)

                                               Majestic Landscape
 A few detail pics:

whoa- the color on this is really off-it's the bright orange part on the lower right in the above shot!
a combination of handmade papers, patterned papers, vellum paper, and  book page. I didn't really plan out the pieces before gluing them down-which is what I hear you should do but I think it worked out just fine and am very happy with it! Looking forward to making more landscapes:)

And I just realized that some of my papers in the collages I am still working on may have bits of leaves in them-in fact I know they do, as well as in this one but I hope this doesn't eliminate me...

For something different I added more art to my Doodle Journal:

I had drawn this face before so I just traced the profile and then filled in using alcohol markers and a white gel pen. Cheek blush is chalk. It's only for play while watching TV but I am still thinking about painting over the awful way my writing looks!

Wishing you a great week ahead, and days filled with sunshine. Linking with Paint Party Friday at the end of the week. Won't you join in too?

"I work in whatever medium likes me at the moment".    Marc Chagall

  1. I hate that I'm on the east coast because the election won't be official until 11pm maybe 12 or later.

  2. LOVE your scenic collage. It feels like a beautiful fall view. And the perfect place to enjoy a cup of tea. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

  3. I also use a covered mug or cup when I work in my craft room or studio. Too many non-food items can get into the mug and it's too easy to drop a paint brush in an open cup. I applaud your choice and love the landscape you created while playing, too.

The face is gorgeous. You did a great job coloring it, too.

I won't be home much of the day tomorrow, so I won't know much until late, either. Like my friend Sally, I'll just be glad when it's all over, although I probably won't care for the outcome, regardless which way it turns out.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful art and your covered mug of tea with us for T this Tuesday.

  5. Wonderful collage, thanks for joining us at AJJ with your landscape, and your doodle face is gorgeous. Your tea sounds good, and I can understand you not wanting to listen to the election news all day. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

  6. Your collaged landscape is just gorgeous - love the fact that you used bookpages as a last far away layer, that makes it so deep.. great! I have also the problem that I don't set a layout before gluing bits and pieces together... there is a nice trick to set a layout and make a photo with the cellphone for later reference - but I am not patient enough to do it...
and like you I am happy with the results anyway!
Don't mind your handlettering - it's GREAT! The only person who don't like your handlettering are you!
Love the wonderful hair of your girl! So artsy!
Thanks a lot for your participation in Art Journal Journey and the nice shout out - we feel honored! ♥♥♥
    Happy T-Day !!!

  7. Its a fabulous scenic collage, a great way to use up papers. I should cover my cups as well, they often get a brush hovering over the top and me thinking its a water pot.
    Happy T day

Yes, It's election day. I don't have a TV so on Wednesdaymorning I will make o point of going online to see the result. I don't envy you guys. It's about choosing the lesser evil as far as I am concerned.

  11. I love your landscape collage, and I'm picturing it as part of the horizon art exhibit I saw in someone else's T Tuesday post :)

I'm glued to election coverage and just can't get enough of it. I've been watching throughout the campaigns :)

  12. Love your art today Linda!!! The collage is really fantastic. I won't be listening to all of the election stuff today either. I'm enjoying the quiet right now and maybe some music later. The Hubs will turn it on as soon as he gets home and I'll retreat to the bedroom to read :) I've pretty much had it with politics this year. It's not going to be good either way it turns out :( HAppy T Day !

Great collaged landscape for AJJ. This has been a fun challenge don't you think?

I doubt I will watch much of the election until some of the results start coming in later this afternoon ( afternoon for me)

  30. I never think to create a collage until I see work like your's Linda. I keep telling myself I should have a go... but then forget! Maybe old age creeping in.
We were watching the Election proceedings from over here, but I didn't stay up all night for the outcome. It's a case of watching this space now I suppose :/
Happy PPF and I hope you can have a great weekend.

  31. ME too! I love the torn paper landscape - and your colorful profile! I love her hair too - and it's smart to use what you have - I recently heard an artist say that you don't have to draw everything from scratch all the time - if you have something to trace, you're already ahead of the game! LOVE it all!!

  32. Lovely collage, perfect November colors. The doodle face is gorgeous. The very name of the tea smells heavenly. BTW, Tulsi is Indian type of basil.

  40. Election. Done. Result is like with Brexit - not possible but active voters did it...sooooo saaaaad.
It's not good to have only two parties - in Finland we have 8 main parties plus 5 tiny ones...only 5.5 million people! Now we have 3 parties in our government.
I like you face doodling - both of them.
    Have a creative week!
