First up: There is a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday and the theme is "Destinations". I am Guest Designer and for the next two weeks I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with! Here's my inspiration to get you started:
First stop - Paris! Products for my postcard: 140# watercolor paper; music and text papers; white gesso; Paris label ( Cavallini); Paper Dolls Quote Chip (Tim Holtz); French postage stamp; various washi tapes; Archival Jet Black ink.
More photos from Cape May:
I love visiting the alpaca farm and feeding them baby carrots! They are just the sweetest- and no one got spit at this round:) Do you think Bill looks like one of them? lol!
Speaking of cuteness:
We are dog sitting Riley for the whole week and he is a love! First night was rough though - he just couldn't settle anywhere and whined a bit off and on- so we didn't get much sleep. It was like getting up every other hour for a baby-and I am too old for this anymore! Thankfully he's been fine since.
Back to Cape May and I have a special place to share with the T Stands For Tuesday gang- the Tea By The Sea Shop:
I cannot believe that it was established in 2002 and this was my first visit!
This store was huge and at every turn there was something else to see! This is going to be another regular stop when in town:) I did get a small amount of loose health tea (relaxation) and two scone mix packages. I made the raspberry white chocolate one so far. So easy and delicious-just slightly sweet. I'd definitely buy this brand again!
For the Simon Monday Challenge (theme is Stencil It) I made a simple tag:
Products: manila tag; spray inks (Inkadinkado); Distress Oxide ink-Faded Jeans; white, black paint; Tim Holtz Layering Stencils- Mosaic, Linen; Silhouette of Flowers stencil, bee stamp (Magenta); Archival Jet Black ink; Stickles glitter glue; washi tape (Recollections); Tim Holtz Small Talk sticker.
And finally I got back to doing another lesson in Tam Laporte's Lifebook 2015 series. This one is 'Seeds Of Love'. It was so good to get all painty and messy again! I worked on it off and on throughout the weekend adding the doodles and such after the base layer and drawing was done.
First layer
after many layers
Finished!
Some detail shots:
Joining in at Art Journal Journey (theme is Flora and Fauna), and Paint Party Friday. Many thanks for stopping in!
" Find out where joy resides, and give it a voice far beyond singing. For to miss the joy is to miss all." Robert Louis Stevenson
That is a COOL tea shop. I think I would find a few things I MUST have in a store like that. :) Great challenge over at TIOT. I love the Paris piece and it is really a you piece Linda, knowing how much you love Paris. Your trip looks like it was a wonderful time. I have never been to the Jersey shore but it does look a good place to visit. Hope you have a great T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing art filled post. Most impressive. I'm in awe of the Paris inspired Destination. I think lots of us would love to visit there. I envy that you have in the past, although envy may be too strong a word with negative context. I certainly admire the art that came as a result.
ReplyDeleteYour lovely flowers are fantasy filled and joyful. They are so exciting to see as the piece came together. And I thought I was slow when it came to finishing a project. It's good you have access to the lesson because some sites limit the time you have to view the lessons. This is fabulous and I'm thrilled you are sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey.
As I followed you around and enlarged every photo from that tea shop, I felt like I had died and gone to heaven. No wonder you scooped up those scone mixes.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful art, including the flora for AJJ, and the tea shop with us for T this soon to be Tuesday.
Seeds of love is a beautiful painting. Love the Robert Louis Stevenson quote, partly because I am Scottish. And I loved the visits to places in your photos. Love those alpacas.
ReplyDeleteFabulous art and the store you visited looks great. The alpacas are so pretty, and Riley looks a real cutie. Nice to have you with us at TIOT this fortnight. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

Love your Paris "Destinations" card, Linda. Congrats on being selected as Guest Designer.
ReplyDelete"Speaking of cuteness," Riley reminds me of my hubby's favorite fur baby of all time - a shi tzu with the same coloring. We both miss our Sabsi. I'm glad Riley settled in well after just one sleepless night.
The Tea By The Sea Shop looks like heaven for tea lovers. Even I could browse for hours. I enjoy shops that have fascinating display after display.
Lovely tag for the SSS challenge. Hubby gave me an SSS gift card for Mother's Day. I had a ball shopping there!
Thank you for sharing your 2015 Life Book page. It's beautiful and it gives me hope. I haven't bound my pages from LB 2017 because I only got through half the lessons. Then in a moment of madness, I signed up for LB 2018!
Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

What a fab tea shop! It has everything! I spotted 'bath tub tea' Would that be tea to drink in the bath or an infusion to put in the bath water? Yes, I can see you coming back to this shop.
ReplyDeleteThe alpacas are cute (including the one in the yellow jacket, lol)
Your postcard is wonderful. Well done you.
I also like your art work. You are learning so many things, aren't you.
A very belated happy T-Day,
Lisca
Your first piece is a wonderful hommage to the lovely place Paris.
ReplyDeleteThe Alpakas look so cute also you sweet dog. A sleepless night is not good, hope it was only one night. Your Tag looks very good with all the stencil textures and the single flower. But your page for AJJ is amazing, so colorful and well balanced. I like it much.
Dear Greetings
