Hi there! Brief post this week as I am still having difficulty sitting comfortably anywhere or bending and turning which makes it difficult to do much art. It's improving slowly so that's a step in the right direction. Thanks to all for your thoughts and wishes for healing. Now, on to some fun!
A few weeks ago we got together with friends, our son and gf for another record (vinyl) party:
This time our son Todd and Kyra hosted at their apt. Lots of good food, drink, and of course music!
Hubby and I each chose one album from our collection to bring and play:
Ever hear of these? I played that Gary Lewis album SO much growing up that I'm surprised it still plays as well as it does-lol!
Joining in with Bleubeard and Elizabeth and friends for T Stands For Tuesday. And I am also sharing this photo with them:
Some of the gals that link each week began a conversation about washi tape collections and have dared us all to show just how many tapes we have. So here's my box of them. If I get any more though I'll have to buy another jeweler's bead case to store them in :) The tapes in the two top right sections are fabric washi tapes.
And I do use them often- as in this card and envie. I am linking to the Simon Wednesday Challenge for the theme of "pop it up":
I popped up my flowers with foam tape. Washi tapes- Recollections, Peony Bouquet stamp and die set and Painted Words- Altenew, Moonshine sequins- Simon Says Stamp, Archival inks.
And this is a journal page from my calendar journal meant for Art Journal Journey with the theme of "A World Of Fantasy" hosted by Yvonne (Meggys Way) this month:
I simply painted the background then glued down the magazine clippings. In my fantasy I am spirited away to a beach on a magic carpet ride whenever I want:)
That's it this time around. Thanks for popping in , have a great week, and happy First Day of Fall on Sunday the 23rd to everyone in the Northern Hemisphere!

Sorry to read you are still having back problems. I hope you find some relief soon.
ReplyDeleteI fell in love with your washi tapes. I see one both of us have. Second row from the bottom, third from the right. The green one we both have. I won mine, so I have no idea where it came from. I also see you and Johanna have one I would love to own and it's the strip of negatives or reel tape. I wanted it when I saw it at Johanna's and I am in awe of it in your collection, too.
Your vinyl party looks like fun. There was certainly lots of great food and wonderful looking wine, too. Of course, I was admiring the cake sitting on the stove (grin). Thanks for sharing this fun feast with us for T this Tuesday.
Lovely card this week, and great use of washi tapes.
Of course, I had to love the journal page. This was fantastic and that is a wonderful fantasy I could get behind, too. That really DOES look like heaven. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey, too.
Hi Linda,
ReplyDeleteI am loving all your washi tapes. I spied a few of the same tapes that I have. Your card is beautiful. I love the white background contrasting with that flower.

I've heard of these vinyl parties. I bet it's fun. I had o toss my vinyl as they got all wet in the basement and molded badly. It's sad because my daughter's boyfriend is big into vinyl and I would have loved to let him take what he wanted. And fun washi tape. It's a great way to have some fun with your art. Loving the new blog header and happy T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling much better soon and wishing you a speedy recovery! I loved seeing all you washi tapes and I have fabric ones in my collection too 😁. Your vinyl record party looks wonderful, sounds like you had a fun time! Beautiful card and journal page, love the beach vibe 😉. Take care and Happy T Day! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteDear Linda, sorry to hear you are having sciatica trouble :0(. I find stretches help me ease the pan. I hope you have relief soon!
ReplyDeleteI love your container for washing tapes!! Mine are jumbled up in a box, I think I'll follow your lead ❤️
Fabric Washi tape? Clearly there's a world out there I know nothing about, LOL! You certainly created a great and cheerful card.
ReplyDeleteBack problems are the worst Linda!! Hubby has had trouble for years.. I hope it feels better soon.. LOVE seeing your washi collection!! Wow! And i love that you DO use them. What a gorgeous card.. ! I like to do collage and you always remind me that i should start a journal for collage just because i enjoy doing it.. lol Happy happy T day! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteA fun (and impressive) collection of Washi! and really love that card you made...so pretty. Glad to hear you are feeling better too. Vinyl records...oh, I miss listening to them. We saved our record collection but don't have anything to play them on at the moment. The party sounds so fun! happy T day!
ReplyDeleteI remember Gary Lewis & the Playboys! "This Diamond Ring" :) Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteI never heard of Gary Lewis but I'm amazed you still have vinyl records that play! That sounds like a fun party idea, Linda.
ReplyDeleteFabric washi tape - that's a new one oon me. I have very few of the same tape designs. Gosh, the choices seem endless. Thank you for joining the "show your washi tape stash" challenge.
Lovely card and envie; plus a great illustration of one way to use washi tape.
I love your fantasy! Yup, sounds like heaven.
I hope your back feels fine very soon. Back pain is so limiting.
Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
Glad to hear your mobility is returning albeit slowly! Love the washi tape collection and your colourful art.

ReplyDeleteand yep, have heard of them, I grew up surrounded by a lot of different types of music
Lovely post. Your card is wonderful! I see you do use your Washi tape! Good job! Thank you for your visit. You saw I used washi tape on my journal page, and that is usual! I never think of it for cards. I have used it on scrap pages, though. Oh, my goodness, Gary Lewis and the playboys! I can hear them singing This Diamond Ring! Great choice to take. I have never heard of this kind of part. Sounds fun! Happy Tea Day!
ReplyDeleteAh, Gary Lewis and the Playboys. This diamond ring doesn't shine for me anymore...and now I have an earworm :-D I love all the colors and patterns of your tape. Very striking on the card you made. And now that Fall is in the air, I'll be dreaming of your Spirited Away page, too. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteAwesome creation at the end ~ wonderful post all around ~ ^_^

Hi, Linda. Oh, I do pity you with so much pain. Never heard of Gary Lewis, but I still love listening to my vinyl records. They sound so much better than CD's. Your card is delightful. Anyone would be glad to receive it.
