Love Is In The Air

Happy new week everyone! How has the weather been for you? Seems that so many places- in the US AND across the pond have had some strange and stormy weather over the weekend. I hope everyone got through it all OK. We had almost all rain, and very gusty high winds but thankfully no flooding or power outages in our area. I hear there was at least one confirmed tornado in Maryland- and perhaps also in Delaware- in February- unheard of! Yikes!

We got together again for a record/vinyl party with friends and our son and fiancé but I totally forgot to take pics cuz we were having so much fun! So, instead, for T Stands for Tuesday I'll share another meal from the Merion Inn in Cape May:

The last time we were in Cape May it happened to be restaurant week which we were unaware of. Several of our favorite places were completely booked that weekend:( However, we managed two seats at the bar in the Merion and had a fixed price three course dinner. It was excellent!! An arugula salad-can't remember what kind of dressing but it was really good. Our main dinner was smashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, and this chicken breast which was divine!! It was an Italian style and had some balsamic glaze over it. For dessert hubby and I both also had the chocolate pot de creme which was a perfectly manageable portion:). They serve wine in small carafes that you can self pour into your glass (you can barely see my glass on the right near the fork) and though you may not see it- my cabernet is in it. Cheers!

This is an exciting week for me as we have tickets to see Il Volo in town Tues. eve!! This will be our third time seeing them as we love them so. Then Valentine's Day Friday is also our son's birthday but we're going to celebrate at our place on Sunday. He hasn't told me what he wants me to make for dinner yet;)

Here is a card I made for him:

Products: light blue, white, brown card stock; patterned paper (Paper Studio); Labels 8 dies (Spellbinders); computer generated sentiment; Shape Sprinkles Tiny Hearts (Doodle Design Inc. - from Simon Says Stamp); Diamond Stickles Glitter Glue (Ranger). Sharing this with the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge (theme is "with love").

The new challenge for Tag Tuesday is "Spring Is In The Air" so I have this tag :

I shared the technique for the background here in this post. Tim Holtz Wildflowers die and Small Talk Stickers. Rubber stamp bee is DeNami-an oldie!

This journal page is meant for Art Journal Journal Journey (theme this month is "hearts"); and Try It On Tuesday ("Share The Love"):

On the watercolor paper in the Dina Wakley Media Journal. Image is from the Dina Wakley Collage Collective book. I cut it into the heart shape and stitched around it before gluing to the page.

Linking to Paint Party Friday too:)

I made some quick and easy Valentine cards to mail out to  friends. Just using up patterned paper scraps, vintage collage sheet images. That is a bit of the envelope on the left . I stamped this heart from Magenta three times. The sentiment on the card is from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

Wishing you a happy Valentine's Day if you celebrate it, and have a super week ahead!

"Love...it surrounds every being and extends slowly to embrace all that shall be."

  1. What a fun week you had, Linda. And it looks like even more so this week. My friend Sally goes nuts every time I tell her you have tickets to Il Volo. They are her favorite group, but the only way she gets to enjoy them is through their CDs. I don't think I'll tell her you are going tomorrow night. She'll be very jealous, I'm sure.

Your tag is beautiful and your cards are both fabulous. Hearts abound this week, in both your cards.

Your journal page is beautiful and so precious. The colors are unique and the face in the heart looks a bit pensive. Thanks for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey.

Your food looks great. A full meal in front of us and an empty carafe means the wine is already in the glass (grin). Thanks for sharing your week with us (including your record party), your lovely art, and your food and wine with us for T this almost Tuesday.

  2. We're having continuing rain, so much rain! but no bad storms. You had good luck with your restaurant seating, I see, with such tasty-looking food :) Thanks for the Wikipedia entry for Il Volo. I had never heard of them. Sounds like a fun outing :) Your "gentle with yourself" piece is a good reminder. Happy T Day!

  3. Wow.
    What else can I say?
You made me go "wow". A beauty in her very own way.

Yes, hail, storm, lightning, we had it all. And am OK!

It cannot get better when you forget to take pics (though it is sad afterwards, huh?)

Wishing you loads of fun on your Son´s Birthday. Here, a man will come to check the heating on Valentine´s - reckon he will not bring flowers ;-)
Maybe I get him some chocolate, right?

Beautiful card you have there - a happy T-day!

  6. Such beautiful artwork! The tag and journal page look gorgeous in those spring-like colours 😁. Thanks so much for joining in the fun and sharing the love at Try it on Tuesday! We still have very high winds here where I live in the UK, and had torrential rain on Sunday and hailstones yesterday, hopefully it will be calmer tomorrow 😀. Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x

  7. Linda I love your artwork, gorgeous colours and the tag is beautiful, I love the BG. I’m sure your son will love the card you’ve made.
Your meal sounds delicious, we usually share a carafe when we go out with our son and DIL, usually house white at the local Asian restaurant in Pacifica.
    Happy T day

  8. I am going to sounds like I live in the backwoods (OK I do) but I haven't heard of ll Volo. So I looked them up and it sounds like it will be a super concert. You always seem to do such fun things. I guess it is easy living in a big city. And I agree about the weather. More snow here and more to come. Can it be April? Please. Love all the art and am glad you shared that cool heart piece at Art Journal Journey Linda. Hope it is a great T day. Hugs-Erika

  11. Well, that meal looks really scrumptious.
And so many lovely cards, including one for your son., (He won't be reading this)
I hadn't heard of Il Volo, but looked them up. They are what is called 'popera'. In Europe we have Il Divo, a similar group of classical singers (and just as goodlooking!) So lucky you. I'm sure it will be wonderful. Try to take some pictures if you can!
    Happy T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  14. I needed to eat before I commented, Linda, your food always looks SO very appetising, lol!
Gorgeous art, as usual...I really must try that acrylic technique. It sounds 'too easy to be true' but it's on my lists to try when my craft room reorganisation is finally done... I'm itching to get to my inks and paints ;-) Love the journal page and especially the words - so very true.
Thank you for sharing with us at Try it on Tuesday.
    Have a great week.

  16. Wonderful looking meal, Linda. I can't see your wine glass (perhaps I see the foot of it) in the photo, but I can see the carafe. I think that counts for T as well.

We have a friend with a Valentine's birthday. I think holiday birthdays are extra special and so is your card.

    Happy T-day! Eileen xx

  17. You're right about a lot of us, all around the globe, having wild weather this past week. Ugh. I was thankful I didn't lose power with the wind gusts we had in Connecticut. I didn't hear about that tornado in Maryland: that is scary. All of your artwork is lovely. I like the lady face in the heart. Your son's combo birthday card is nice. Your spring tag is well done. I like that valentine card you made from scraps. Your three course dinner looked and sounded delicious. Happy T-Day!

Love the colours and the words are just there to be heeded by so many, and then the face in the heart is gorgeous - did you draw it yourself?
