A Mixed Bag

of  weather and art this week. The crazy weather continues- we had 6" of snow which came down quickly and caused some hazardous road conditions Saturday evening. And now it is warming up and expected to reach 72 F by Wednesday! Keeping the flipflops next to the boots :)

Grab a cuppa and snack, enjoy the art, and join in on the challenge blogs won't you?  For T Stands for Tuesday hubby is having Turkish coffee and baklava at the middle Eastern restaurant we ate at recently ( more pics to come).

 I'll start with some tags:

Products: hand marbled manila tag; white card stock; gesso; Archival Jet Black ink; dry chalks; gel plate deli paper print; sentiment stamp (Inkadinkado); face stamp (Dina wakley); Americana Indian Turquoise acrylic paint; Tim Holtz Chit Chat stickers; paper flower; brad; Moonshine sequins(Simon Says Stamp).  Joining Tag Tuesday (theme is "use a quote").

My next tag is also for Tag Tuesday along with the Simon Monday Challenge ("Grunge it Up"), and Try It On Tuesday ("vintage"):

Products: hand marbled manila tag; black card stock; Versafine Onyx Black ink; washi tape (Recollections); Tim Holtz Paper dolls, mini stapler, Distress tool, Thinlits Scribbles and Splats die set; quote sticker (Cosmo Cricket); ephemera from my stash- ribbon, twine, rusty heart.

 Next up a card:

Products: white, grey/green card stocks; Simon Says Stamp Dot Scallop Border Die; Altenew Peony Bouquet stamp and die set; tiny dot outline stamp - Altenew Floral Frame stamp set; 3 dots stamp - Magenta; Anita's Art Stamps pigment ink (Mint); Colorbox pigment ink (Pink); Distress ink (Worn Lipstick); Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink (Gray Whale); Archival Jet Black ink; Moonshine sequins - Simon Says Stamp.
Joining the Altenew February Inspiration Challenge; and the Simon Wednesday Challenge ("Add a Diecut").

 Finally, a journal page:

Products: Tim Holtz stencils (Mosaic, Honeycomb); Basically Bricks stencil,  Circle Collage stamp (Stampers Anonymous); bird stamp (Dina Wakley); Wall Art Stamp (Wow!) Distress inks- Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, Antique Linen; Distress Oxide inks-  Pistachio, Broken China; Archival inks- Buttercup, Jet Black; charcoal pencil.

Joining Art Journal Journey for the theme of "Animals A-Z" hosted by Rike this month, and
                                    PAINPARTY FRIDAY!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit and leave a comment. I'll be visiting you too!

  5. It's been a crazy awesome week in your world, and your art is as diverse as the weather. It's been cold and a bit warm, but no moisture here. Looks like we might get a bit of rain for the first time this year, which will help the cracks in the ground.

Those tags are both so different, yet so lovely. Both are gems. I'm in awe of the birthday card and see how much I need a die cutter and dies. You make wonderful art.

Of course, I'm genuinely impressed with your beautiful bird you created for Art Journal Journey. The quote is wonderful and seems really appropriate, too. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey.

That leads to your middle eastern restaurant visit with your husband and his Turkish coffee and baklava. They both sound wonderful and I'm sure he enjoyed the coffee. I actually found Turkish coffee to be a bit strong even for ME, the girl who likes coffee that curls your hair. Thanks for sharing your art, your AJJ entry, and your Turkish coffee and baklava with us for T this Tuesday.

  16. Such beautiful art pieces. And I love those quotes too. Where do you get them!
Did your hubby enjoy his Turkish coffee? I suppose it is an acquitçred taste. I have had Turkish coffee (in Turkey of course) and it takes a bit of getting used to leaving the coffee granules to sink to the bottom before you drink. And not to forget to put the sugar in before you do that otherwise you have to stir the sugar in and wait again, by which time the coffee is cold! You can probaly tell I am telling you this from experience...
    Happy T-Day,
    Lisca

  17. Your weather is wilder than ours! We're getting ups and down in temps but no snow and not as cold as you're getting. I love the "laugh at themselves" quote :) I've eaten in a middle eastern restaurant a couple of times and enjoyed it. I'll look forward to more photos. Your husband's coffee cup is lovely. Happy T Tuesday!

What a fabulous quote and fantastic artwork Linda.
We are currently looking like we're heading into spring, but the forecast for the next week or so is for snow and minus temperatures once again.
The poor birds and wildlife will be so confused.

  51. I love the versatility you have, Linda. The quotes are such fun and add to your beautiful art pieces. So interesting all the different supplies that you use. It really shows that the finished products took a lot of work, thought...and the original purchases of supplies can be costly. It also helps to know how these wonderful cards and tags are made.
