What a holiday filled week this is- Mardi Gras, Ash Wednesday, Valentine's Day, Flag Day (Canada), and the Chinese New Year! I'm going to focus on a love theme for Valentine's Day- my favorite holiday ( and also my son's birthday:)
I'm going to begin with something sweet:
You may recall I made one similar to this in blue for hubby's birthday last month. This one was for a girlfriend. Altenew cupcake stamp and die set; white card stock; Altenew halftone circles stencil; Distress inks-Worn Lipstick, Squeezed Lemonade; Staz On Chai Latte ink; Marvy Ochre ink; Archival Jet Black ink; Stickles glitter glue.
And how about a spot of tea with that sweet:
white note card; tea tag made from card stock in Tea Time paper pack (Craft Smith); handmade background paper; Bakers twine; black thread; felt heart sticker (Dollar store). Joining T Stands For Tuesday.
An anniversary card:
white card stock; glossy gold card stock; patterned vellum ( K & Company); love die set (Simon Says Stamp). Joining the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge (love/hearts) and the the Simon Says Stamp Blog Work It Wednesday challenge (love themed projects).
Giving you a valentine break with this journal page meant for Art Journal Journey (theme is "animals A-Z") :
A journal page in my calendar journal:
That beautiful background is a napkin!
and one last love themed card:
patterned note card (DCWV); Neena Classic Coat 110lb. Solar White paper (Simon Says Stamp); Floral Frame stamp and die set (Altenew); assorted alcohol markers; Archival Jet Black ink; stitched rectangle dies (Our Daily Bread Designs); Stickles Diamond glitter glue (Ranger); foam tape.
Joining the Altenew February Color Inspiration Challenge along with the Simon Wednesday Challenge (It Must Be Love).
I will also link one of these projects to Moo Mania and More (Love theme); and Try It On Tuesday (Love is in the Air theme). And I'll definitely be there for Paint Party Friday!
So what will you celebrate this week? "See" you soon :)
" Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love."

Definitely a happy and uplifting day and your artwork reflects that beautifully. And today it is also Pancake Day!
ReplyDeleteWow, so much eye candy today ...lol 😉. They are all so beautiful - I love the sweet cupcake card and lovely tea tag, then there's your beautiful anniversary card, fun bugs page (eating bugs - yuk! ...lol 😉), the most amazing Valentine's calender journal page (I love the napkin you used for the background and the red ruby slipper image) and to finish your love card with those pretty flowers - perfect 😁. Thanks for joining us at Try it on Tuesday too and wishing you a very Happy T Day! J 😊
ReplyDeleteWOW! Love everything you shared today ♥ I had great intentions of creating Valentine's cards for family this year but with the cold it just didn't happen :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I have begun the purging process already this week and can now see part of my desk again :) Ever since my back injury I have just stacked things instead of dealing with them properly and the results show in the two photos I shared. Unfortunately my bedroom has suffered from the condition too :( I'm thinking this purge and organizing will last much longer than 40 days. :)
Happy T Day!
Carol
love your card and tag
ReplyDeleteI apologize. I would have been by sooner, but I ate something about midnight that didn't set well and I got very ill right as I was about to leave you a comment. I'm not even sure where to begin, You are right, this is one week we won't soon forget. To add to everything you mentioned, there is also the Olympics and the NBA All Stars Weekend. It's a busy week indeed.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to start with the Valentines and anniversary card, then work my way from there. You truly DO know how to add romance to your art, don't you, Linda? These are all lovely, and your calendar page is filled with both romance and feminine beauty,
I absolutely LOVED your BUGS! They are cute, although they would not be my first choice for animals (grin). Still, this is a fabulous entry and I appreciate you sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey.
Finally, I was really pleased to see the Tea inspired art you shared with us. You sew SO well, too. It's a fabulous entry for T this Tuesday. Thanks for sharing the card and I have to say I have to say, I really love the background.

ReplyDeleteLots of gorgeous cards today! Love your valentines and sweet art! thanks for sharing your tea! happy art-making!
ReplyDeleteWow, Linda, this post is just chock full of lovely goodness! You've been very busy. I love the top card you did with the Altenew halftone circles stencil. Is the ombre effect an optical illusion or did you achieve that with the way you blended the inks?
ReplyDeleteThe last card is really special. If SSS doesn't select it, the challenge is rigged ;-)
Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
Hi Eileen, the stencil partly creates the illusion but using the same color ink I just apply it gradually with a light hand as I go from bottom to top of the stencil. And thanks so much for your comment:)
DeleteWhat a fabulous (or should I say LOVEly) post! I love the posh shoe entry for Try It On Tuesday- Thank you for joining us! Your animal journal page made me smile! Happy T Day and Happy Valentine's day too! Chrisx

Your valentine/love themed cards are beautiful. The cupcake is a great card. I like how the stencil squares looks as they diminish in size and intensity. Your napkin background is lovely. It is amazing how well napkins are used in mixed media art.
