Hi there peeps! How are things in your neck of the woods? We have continued to enjoy gorgeous summer like weather later than I can ever remember-awesome! It's about to change quickly though but I'm ready for it.
Halloween is fast approaching so I have another tag to share:
Products: manila tag (Ranger); patterned paper (Me and My Big Ideas); Versafine Onyx Black ink; Tim Holtz paper Dolls; Spooky tag and enamel dot (Recollections); Spiders/web stickers (the Paper Studio); bird stickers (Nicole). Joining Moo Mania and More (Halloween); Tag Tuesday (Halloween/Autumn); and the Simon Monday Challenge (Monochrome).
I have one last meal to share from our last visit to Cape May. We always have one nice dinner at The Merion Inn - a really lovely place we have been going to for a number of years now. The ambiance is lovely as is the piano entertainment, and the food is always excellent!
Crab stuffed flounder for Bill (and it was a very generous portion),
and broiled scallops, jasmine rice and green beans for me. I pretty much always go with scallops when we dine here. Sorry if I made you hungry again. Perhaps for next week for the T Stands For Tuesday gang it'll just be tea :)
And I have a special journal page to share. First I wish to thank Susi for sharing her beautiful page along with the link for the free workshop provided by Laly Mille ( merci beaucoup Laly!). Unfortunately it was offered only for the week and is no longer available but it was a nice introduction representing the artist, her style, and her spirituality combined. And it couldn't have come to me at a more perfect time.
I was not in a good place last Friday and decided to go for a long walk to clear my mind. I came back and went online and went to Susi's latest post. I went to the link she provided and that was it. I began to listen to Laly. I prepared myself by putting a combination of essential oils in my diffuser (Sage-for cleansing, Cypress - for opening, and Lemongrass- for inspiring). Then I chose two cards from my Law Of Attraction deck to inspire me:
I went through the breathing, meditating and visualizing guided by Laly and I was completely in the zone. Immediately after watching the art instruction video (Your True North Star) I went up to my room to create my page.
This doesn't look anything like Laly's example even though it began that way. Somehow my piece took on a life of its own, the layers of writing and collage papers pretty much got covered up with paint layers and became Impressionistic. I wasn't able to capture the glitter on my north star in my photo but it's there. I love that every time I look at this page it will take me to my calming center, AND my true north star. Sharing with Art Journal Journey (Landscapes of the Soul hosted this month by Elke), and Paint Party Friday. Wishing you a connection to YOUR true north star.

we have had our summer evenings,
now for October eves!"

Such a wonderful Tag...love the image of the boy..just fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining us at Tag Tuesday.....
Wonderful artwork Linda! The food photos look scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteLovely journal page, glad you had fun making it, and that tag is wonderful, thanks so much for joining us at TT again. Your food looks great, it's early morning here and you've made me hungry.... Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeletethe Halloween tag is wonderful. but i think i´m even more drawn to the mood of your ajj-page with that North star!!
ReplyDelete(and cesar´s salad is one of my alltime favorites, too!)
happy t-day
I love how you positioned the bird sticker on the little boy's hand. That was clever. A really adorable tag.
ReplyDeleteI also saw Susi's link and went to Laly's site. i enjoyed watching her videos, but I'm not much of a painter, so I didn't create anything like she did. I did like the idea of working in a series, and was impressed with her encaustic wax tutorial. Your true north is gorgeous. Although it looks nothing like hers, I can see the influence she had on you. I had trouble understanding her, and there was no closed captioning, so I missed a lot of what she was saying. Obviously, you did not!
Your meal looked wonderful. That rice and beans looked fabulous, but you can have my helping of scallops. Your Caesar Salad looked good, but I think I would prefer the French onion soup. Yep, I had to check out the menu. And I would prefer the shrimp scampi, but I've never heard of it FRIED before! And of course, the wine, which was like Greek to me (grin).
Thanks for sharing your fun tag, your fabulous AJJ painting, your food, and your wine (and water) with us for T this Tuesday.
Linda this was a beautiful post-and it sounds like we are both having the same type of weather. love your new tag and that is one of the things I love about art-it helps us through so many things hugs
ReplyDeletethe food looks delicious Happy T Day Kathy
What an inspirational post! Your tag is fantastic and the page you created after your meditation is so peaceful and full of hope with that brightly shining star - beautiful 😁. Your meal looks perfect, I could happily eat either of the mains you chose, they looks so delicious. It sounds like such a lovely ambience with the piano music too! Wishing you a Happy T Day! J 😊
ReplyDeleteLoving the art Linda. Nice bit of spooky and relaxing nature scene! That Inn looks like it has yummy yummy food. I am hungry. Those seas scallops looks sooooo good. I haven't had those for quite some time. Yup, it has been a great fall, hasn't it? I'd love it to continue but I m a little ready for some colder weather, just a little. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

ReplyDeleteLots of wonderful art, Linda. Your tag is great and fitting for the season. The art journal page is so beautiful. I love essential oils but I don't have the sage and cypress you mentioned.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I especially like the "I am a magnet" piece..great work!
ReplyDeleteLove your tag, the boy is so cute. That meal looks yummy and music to boot! However I am really taken with your true north star, it is wonderful and the story behind makes it even more so.
ReplyDeleteHello Dear Linda, you're having fun with your halloween tag!
ReplyDeleteTo dine with piano in the background is so relaxing and both your dinners looked magnificent.
You gave a most wonderful example of how to look after yourself with your walk and then turning to the peacefulness of art. Good for you, meditation is a beautiful thing, something I've turned to over the years (which are many for this old gal ;D).
Your cards and North Star painting are so beautiful and full of loving emotion. Big hugs, Sue :D) xx
Cute Halloween tag! And very interesting to read about your spiritual journey to create your journal page. It's always good when you get in the zone and when it starts taking on a life of its own. Very special that it came along just at the time you needed it!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your wonderful comments ~ Spooky and Spiritual ~ Beauty!

Love the spooky Halloween tag with the boy. It is perfect!
ReplyDeleteHi, Linda. Turning quite cool here. Typical Irish weather. Love your artwork. That tag is so cool. That salad looks lovely, but forget the crab; not for me thanks. I tend to burn incense, a lot. I like White Sage. It's great for getting rid of bad vibes and negativity.
ReplyDeletelove your spooky tag Linda and that cute paper doll has the birds feeding out of his hand,, thank you for sharing with us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, enjoy your weekend...hugs kath xxx
ReplyDeleteSometimes we need some inspiration and peaceful views of others (and a few essential oils!) to make things seem better. The artwork you created is just beautiful! Loved the tag too.
ReplyDeleteOh, and crab stuffed flounder...oh my!!!
OK.... before I get to how wonderful your art is, you are knocking me over with that stuffed flounder. OMG! it looks so good. Even though I live in an ocean town, there is NOT one good seafood place here. I am not kidding. I have to go to NC and Florida to see my kids to get a good plate of fish. Looks like you have a good place there. Your are and inspiration is beautiful and I love the quote. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeletelol, artworks many times live their own life, I have noticed that too. But the end result is often a good one. Love your night sky!
ReplyDeleteLove the Law of Attraction ~ get daily post from them and the cards you got are wonderful ~ love the 'magnet unto myself' ~ Happy Weekend to you ^_^

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tag and I love the other piece as well, it is moving and inspired.
ReplyDeleteWOW Linda...somehow your post moved me for reasons I don't really know. Probably it's what you mentioned about Law of attraction and true north star...all these thoughts have been resonating in my mind for days now...I keep visualizing too! :)
ReplyDeleteYour Spooky card by the way reminded me of Poe!!! :) It's Beautiful!
Yes, I definitely am hungry now! Love your tag, so wonderful and spooky, and what beautiful pieces you created! Sounds like this course came just at the right time for you!
ReplyDeleteOh this is too much: clean table, crab & scallops, spooky tag, wine & good friends...oh boy, lucky you!
