Lots of Art Time
Everyone hanging in there? This whole lock down thing is getting old... but, we have to keep going. If it's a nice day I'm outside, but if not my time is spent watching you tube videos and playing in my art room A LOT. Not that I always get much done. Sometimes I'm just gessoing blank pages in my journals when the inspiration doesn't strike. My time is spent also doing the usual household chores, cooking, baking, and reading too. And on weekend evenings hubby and I look for a few movies to watch. How do you fill all your time?
Here is the full journal page of the snippet above. It's meant for Art Journal Journey (theme is Geometric Shapes), the Simon Says Monday Challenge (theme is-Not A Card), and Paint Party Friday:
The background was painted with watered down acrylics, then stencilled with 2 Tim Holtz stencils- Linen, and Numbers. The shapes were cut from Dina Wakley's Collage Collective, stitched, and/or edged with black ink. The sentiment is collage tissue words -also Dina Wakley.
A tag meant for Tag Tuesday (anything goes):
Yes, more Dina Wakley-lol! Collage Collective, Faces Collage Tissue and Words Collage Tissue. Red heart was sitting on my desk and just happened to fit perfectly in the leaf. I also used a black Fude pen, blue Posca pen, a few dry chalks, and Archival Jet Black ink.
Time for a break, so let's join Bleubeard and Elizabeth and the gang at T Stands For Tuesday. Bring along your favorite beverage related photo and join us!
Sunday I made homemade pancakes and topped them with the cinnamon/apple/cranberry topping I shared in this post. You can also find it under the "Recipes" tab below my header. I doubled the recipe(minus the quinoa) so I could use it for pancakes and other things too. Yum!
I have a few more junk journal pages to share also:
For the pages in my two junk journals I am sticking to using found items in my ephemera bins mostly- just to use things up.I'm also trying to work more quickly in these books too. The madonna is an old stamp - part of a cube (anyone remember cube stamps??) .This had been stamped and edged in gold and in my bin all ready to be used finally:) The feather is a tissue paper piece that I embellished with a black and whit gel pen. Sentiment is a Tim Holtz sticker. I also added a bit of recycled dryer sheet below the stamped piece.
Another page in the same junk journal. Collage fodder and transparency bit along with a vintage button, paper flower with a tiny button, and Tim Holtz word stickers.
And that's it for me for this post. I hope the weather is cooperating for you wherever you are, and that you are keeping well, and managing well too. Virtual hugs!

ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
Oh Linda, I LOVE the journal page you created. It is beautiful. I am so in awe of your page, especially the composition. You have composition down PAT. Beautiful indeed and perfect for Valerie's theme at Art Journal Journey.
ReplyDeleteI also like the tag you made for Valerie's theme at Tag Tuesday. This is SO clever. The face fits so well on the tag, too.
I LOVE your junk journal. I think I have that same cube stamp. Someone sent it to me years ago (yes I remember who, but she no longer has a blog), and I only used one side one time. I certainly looks familiar. I also like the other page with the eggs transparency and the rest of the composition. It is beautiful indeed.
Wow, I haven't had pancakes in years. Now I may break down and fix some if I have the right ingredients. Yours look wonderful. And who can resist drinking coffee from a mug with the Eiffel Tower on it? It's beautiful. Thanks for sharing your pancakes and coffee with us, along with your art for T this Tuesday.
BTW, will you be joining ICADs this year?
Beautiful art, as always. Love the journaling and the wonderful tag. Thanks so much for linking to AJJ and Tag Tuesday. Home made pancakes sound delicious, I will make some savoury waffles today. Happy T Day, take care, hugs, Valerie

Your pancakes look delicious and the topping sounds perfect for them. The Virginia Satir quote is inspiring, thanks :) Happy T Tuesday!
You made a nice assortment of artwork. Your pancakes look delicious. I like the quote, but it ignores the fact that everyone reaches a point where life put too many bricks on the load, and one can't take it anymore.
ReplyDeleteWow...you are certainly turning out some beautiful art while in quarantine.
ReplyDeleteThose pancake look yummy. I'd never thought of apples and cinnamon on them. Have to try that one day.
Take care and Happy T day!
We'll filing our time pretty much like you are, Linda. Our house hasn't sparkled like this in a long time. Usually I spread spring cleaning type chores throughout the year. This year it all got done at once! I'm running out of steam though.

Your junk journal pages are beautiful too. I wish I had a bin filled with wonderful ephemera. Ahh, there's a new job for me to do at home. I'm sure I have lots of stuff tucked here and there to fill a bin or basket.
Belated Happy T-Day! Eileen xx
Hi Linda, I love your journal pages! Thanks for reminding me to use my ephemera! Have a good week. As far as what I do besides the necessary, I noticed I have started watching a lot of folks doing RV travels and how they "built" their van interiors! I think I must be vicariously escaping lockdown!
