How is everyone? First we got hit with a wicked Nor'Easter Friday causing much damage , lots of snow or rain, and power outages on the East coast. As of this posting there are still people without power. I was very fortunate in that we never lost power. And another storm is due to hit for Wednesday bringing a significant amount of snow- up to 12 inches. Enough all ready-I want Spring, I want Spring, I want Spring!
Well, here's a Spring card to cheer us all up:
Products: white cardstock, notecard, foam squares (Recollections); green cardstock, patterned paper, clear stamps (Simon says Stamp March Card Kit); Stickles glitter glue; alcohol markers; Versafine Onyx Black ink. Linking to the Simon Wednesday Challenge (anything goes), and the Simon Monday Challenge (Whatever the Weather).
Thankfully Friday's snow pretty much melted away Saturday and hubby and I were able to enjoy a dinner out at Stefanos and also to hear the local band Red (the violinist, Chris, is awesome!!)
After placing our orders they brought us our drinks (Guinness for hubby) and a basket of fresh baked bread with dipping sauce. I forgot to ask about the sauce cuz it was divine!
And our meals (minus the salads because I forgot to take a pic):
Hubby's choice- Cavatelli Calebrese - fresh pasta , broccoli and chicken breast in a garlic olive oil sauce,
And I went with the chicken and pesto panini along with a glass of merlot and lemon water. The food is always excellent here especially the wood fire pizzas. Elizabeth I wish you were closer , I'd make sure you got great food wherever we'd go ;) Joining Elizabeth and peeps for T Stands For Tuesday.
Here are my February calendar spreads completed:
Here is a journal page for part of my March calendar pages:
deli paper print, Donna Downey stencil, black acrylic paint, gelatos, Pitt pen. Meant for Art Journal Journey for the theme of Spring this month hosted by Rosie.
Next up is a tag meant for Tag Tuesday (theme is Spring Flowers), and I will also join in at A Vintage Journey for Tag Friday:
manila tag; spray inks; masks; Tim Holtz- Paper Dolls, Botanical, Chit Chat stickers; Distress Vintage Photo ink; sewing machine and black thread; washi tape (Recollections); Moonshine Sequins (Simon Says Stamp). And it just dawned on me I could link this to the Simon Monday Challenge too - whatever the weather, and I used Tim Holtz products:)
Now, put on your party hats because PAINT PARTY FRIDAY is celebrating a birthday! Seven years now- and with much thanks to the dedicated hosts EVA and Kristin-mwah!
I made this journal page to celebrate:
Black gessoed pg.; palette and brush painted with acrylic paints. (Those paint gobs are going to take quite awhile to completely dry -lol) Words added digitally. All are welcome to the party so please join in won't you? Have a fabulous week!
" Life is too short not to celebrate nice moments." Jurgen Klopp
The flowers on those flowers are so pretty. They definitely remind me of spring. And I am loving those calendar spreads and your tag.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
awesome art! and your food looks delicious-sounds like a really nice time out. hope you do not get too much more snow.
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day
Linda so much to see this week! So many pretty things you made. Such a pretty card... i have a soft spot for rubber boots.. I used to water plants for a nursery for years... rubber boots were very much needed..lol
ReplyDeleteThe food looks yummy. And your calender spreads are beautiful.. I 'am often tempted to start an ArtJournal of some kind but i don't know where i would find the time.. I Love your drippy flowers and your tag.. and the pallette is pretty too... Hmm .. i think your right .. that just might take a 'while' to dry.. lol Happy happy T day! Hugs! deb
Wow, Linda. You are always so busy with your art. I'm really in love with the card you made and of course, that tag, too. But I really adore the journal page (as part of your calendar) you shared with us at Art Journal Journey. What a lovely entry.
ReplyDeleteI am really, really hungry after seeing the food you and your husband ate. And that bread and dipping sauce has me wanting to grab a bit of bread and anything handy to dip it in. I am in awe of how well you two eat and the wonderful food. Yes, I too wish I lived closer and my food choices would be much better than the ones I often get in Wichita. Thanks for sharing your husband's beer (the only beer I'll drink) and your Merlot (which in my opinion is horrible wine because it is bitter and I prefer a dessert type wine only) with us for T this Tuesday.
Great post, and you have made some wonderful art this week. Love what you made for PPF and thanks so much for making that fantastic tag for Tag Tuesday, much appreciated. Great journal pages, too, you are having fun. Sorry about the bad weather, we had similar here, but it seems to be gone now. Your food looks great, too. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteOh this card, tag and Journal page - so beautiful and all the beautiful calendar pages - the dinner at Stefanos looks so very tempting!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for joining AJJ again dear Linda - AJJ is exactly the same age as PPF. I started in March 2011. Must have been a good year and month to start challenges the people like!
Here we got the same bad weather as you meanwhile - but I don't give up to hope for spring. It will come for sure!
Keep warm and take good care of you and happy crafting and happy PPF, T-Day and AJJ! ♥♥♥
LOVE from
Susi

A wonderful Spring post, Linda
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing at ART JOURNAL JOURNEY
You make so much beautiful art Linda. I always look forward to seeing it on Tuesdays. And I can relate about the weather. We were right at the top of the last storm so it wasn't horrible for us, but at the coast, they got it so bad. They are still getting waves breaking over the seawall today. And this next storm is going to be a disaster. It is March-come on. Like you, I really wish for spring. :) Your meal looks yummy. Italian food is yummy! Hope all is well other than the weather. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteWe were lucky during that last storm. Didn't lose electricity. Didn't get water in the basement. No big trees came down. Some areas along the south shore and the Cape are still trying to recover. Crews are working to get the electricity back on today and another storm tomorrow. Like you, I've had enough of Winter. Love all the Spring flowers on your tags and pages. Have a Happy T Day and hoping the weather dudes are wrong about all the snow. Is it July, yet?
ReplyDeleteA wonderful post Linda, full of wonderful art projects. I loved seeing your calendar spreads and the card was so pretty.
ReplyDeleteItalian food is a favourite of ours and your meal looks delicious.
I hope the weather doesn't get too bad, we all want Spring to get here soon.
Happy T day wishes.
Yvonne xx
Looks like you've had another busy week! That's such a pretty spring card that you created to cheer us up and your tag is lovely too 😉. I loved seeing all of your fabulous calendar journal pages - beautiful 😁. Glad you had a fun time at Stefanos and wishing you a very Happy T Day! J 😊
ReplyDeletelovely card and tag
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely artwork - the tag for Tag Tuesday is wonderful - I love the sweet little girl!! She looks happy that it's Spring!
ReplyDeleteOMGosh, Linda, you're still getting snow! Sometimes I forget how long winter can hang around up there. We lived in NJ for 25 years.
ReplyDeleteSpring has arrived in our area. Temps are in the 70s and 80s already. The days are mostly sunny and the sky is brilliant blue. I love our springs.
Very cute and cheery card ;-)
I like how you do your journal. The way I started mine (this is my first year) is a bit overwhelming. I hope to stick with it for a while. Maybe I'll get more efficient, draw more quickly, etc. Your "bloom where you're planted page is gorgeous and inspiring! The palette with thick gobs of paint is very clever. I hope it dries well ;-)
Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
The card with the pretty welly boot filled with flowers is delightful and I seriously love the way you write and decorate your diary, I can see a good few ideas here to try. The AJJ page is terrific with its lovely shapes and colours and uplifting words. Your art is always happy and I enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely march page and the tag is so lovely too!
ReplyDeleteThat food looks great. I followed the link, hoping it would be a chain with a restaurant withing driving distance but no luck. You have a treasure there it seems :)
ReplyDeleteI'm zeroing in on the flip flops in your journal. Spring! Happy T Tuesday :)
Love that tag! I feel you about the snow...we ended up with a two hour late start today. They really should have called it off. I had to use 4 wheel drive to get to school. UGH. I'm done with winter snowstorms.
ReplyDeleteHappy T day!
Love your deli paper geli print for your journal page! I have a whole box of deli paper that I use after making geli prints, to clean up the geli plate. I should start using all the prints I have made! I love playing with it, but then just put them all in a drawer! Your tag and Paint Party page are lovely, too. Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteA post full of art for tummy and eyes :)
ReplyDeleteFinally long period of freezing cold days and nights are over. We can feel spring - our daylight is now 11 hours yes!!!! but warmer days we have to wait...too long but light makes me smile!
Fabulous creations! Such wonderful work!
ReplyDeleteThe food looks so yummy! :)

ReplyDeleteThank you for showing us your journal. That was a lot of work, but it will be fun reading through them in years to come.
The meal looks delish. Just the sort of thing I like. (I would probably go for the pasta)

Love your spring card! It's beautiful, and so filled with hope. It reminds me of how we felt last year when we had SO MUCH snow. This year hasn't been as bad, but I am still ready for spring now. Hope you don't get as much as they are predicting come Wednesday! Love your calendar pages as well. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful display of artwork ... and food Linda!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great tribute to PPF too.
We had snow but not as much as many and thankfully didn't loose power. We just stocked up on goods and stayed indoors for a few days. We live on quite a steep hill, so it's safer.
Happy PPF to you :D
Great card and pages
ReplyDeleteOh poor you! Yes, spring is taking a looong time to come this year. I hope this'll mean that summer will be long and hot! I love those paint blobs on your celebration card for PPF! And seeing your calendar spreads makes me feel like getting out my art diary again ;-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful artwork Linda! So glad you came out unscathed from the storm. We've had a couple of quick snow storms and missed the power outages that affected thousands too! Hope you get your much deserved spring sooner than later. Weather might be warming up around here this weekend! Wonderful ppf birthday contribution!
ReplyDeletePeace Giggles
