Breezing Thru Summer
Hello peeps! Yes, I am still in beach mode and definitely taking in what's left of summer. Another heat wave has begun and is expected to last a few days but I'm not complaining. Summer goes away too quickly for my liking. If you have a favorite season don't you find that it goes by much quicker than the others?
Let's begin with a light summer breakfast today shall we?
A favorite treat of mine- a small slice of homemade sponge cake with watermelon and blueberries on the side. And coffee of course! Joining in with T Stands For Tuesday (link in with a beverage related pic or piece of art- like my next card:) Feel free to join us anytime!
For the Simon Wednesday Challenge (Food/Drink) I have this card:
and another view:
Products: Neena Classic Coat #110 cardstock; Archival inks- Sepia, Jet Black; Distress ink- Vintage Photo; Distress Oxide ink- Cracked Pistachio; Darkroom Door Coffee Time stamp set; washi tape (Recollections); foam adhesive; heart pin (JoAnn Stores).
A tag meant for the Simon Monday Challenge (Fall/Autumn):
Products: manila tag; flocked paper (Making Memories); Tim Holtz Paper Dolls; Versafine Onyx Black ink; sentiment tag and Baker's twine (Recollections); Jack o Lantern, cat sticker (Nicole Crafts- AC Moore); black German dresden (Collage Stuff).
And for Paint Party Friday, and Art Journal Journey (theme is count your blessings):
I am again counting my blessings to be able to spend several times a year at the beach and especially to live close enough to drive there. For this quick and easy page I used spray inks, texture paste, mechanical pencil, and sentiment sticker from Tim Holtz.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I will be around to visit you too!
" Wouldn't it be nice to positively start each day by counting your blessings? Isn't it obvious that the habit of counting your problems is an enemy to your peace of mind? "

What great pieces of art today! I really love the AJJ page.
ReplyDeleteHappy T day!
I love your by the sea piece Linda. You created some great texture and it feels so much like the sea. It would be a good place to be with this heat. I hope it's the last of it. I think your light breakfast looks delicious and perfect for summer. Stay cool and enjoy your T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your "summer time!"
ReplyDeleteLots of wonderful art. Love the beach piece, so pretty. Great tag for Halloween and a lovely card. Your breakfast looks great. Have a great week, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeletethough you call the page "quick and easy" it is very impressing, i love it! and fall/halloween is already ahead in the themes of the challenges... oh my god! but reminds me that end of august (NOW!) in our supermarkets they start the season of lebkuchen/gingerbread, which actually were an advent thing (ages ago, haha!). i like your "classic" halloween tag!
ReplyDeleteand you are blessed by the proximity of the sea!! i envy you for this:)
have a great week, linda ♥ happy t-day!
Amazing art again dear Linda! I love the card and the tag and I adore this wonderful atmosperic page meant for Elizabeth's theme! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHappy T-Day! Your breakfast looks yummie - would be something for me as well! Thank you for yet another fantastic entry linked to AJJ!
Much appreciated!
Big hugs, Susi
Your spray ink art is beautiful. It certainly reminds me of the sea in the Netherlands with the dunes.
ReplyDeleteYour halloween card is great too as is the coffee card. I'm writing this before breakfast and I can smell the coffee! We will be having grapefruit (as we are going out for lunch, it has to be a light breakfast).
Yes, it must be such a blessing to live near the beach. We live nearly two hours drive from the nearest one, which is not bad. But we are not beach people. I would go in winter and take long walks along a non commercial beach, but there is much tourism here and it is just too hot in summer.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
We are back to very hot and humid too this week-but then it is still summer after all ha ha
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your art-loved everything-and that's my kind of breakfast too
Happy T
Beautiful artwork! Your coffee card looks amazing and I love the 3D heart pin that you included 😁. Great tag too and your amazing journal page reminds me of sea and sand - perfect! Your cake and fruit looks delicious - Happy T Day! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteYou certainly pack a lot of art in every week, Linda. Your breakfast looks great. I love the idea of fresh fruit at every meal, and it looks so fresh and healthy, too. It's a great choice to add to coffee and a great choice for T Tuesday, too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous autumn inspired tag. I can't believe Halloween is just around the corner. Of course, I know how much you love the beach and to keep summer alive with this fabulous journal entry is perfect. It's a gem and perfect for my theme at Art Journal Journey, too.
Perfect quote, Linda, to count your blessings not your problems. I love the beachy page and how you created with spray inks. Until I looked closely, I thought the mechanical pencil was just sketching dune grass. Very clever!
ReplyDeleteGreat SSS challenge work too. You'e had a busy week - artwise.
Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
Linda your art work is beautiful, I love the vibrant colours you’ve used.
ReplyDeleteI never seem to get around to Halloween cards even though we usually spend it with our GSs who dress up and we go around their neighbourhood which is great fun,I always end up as the witch but then it is my Birthday!!
So many beautiful things you've created Linda!!! You've been busy!!! Happy happy T day!! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteWhat a breakfast! I like the seasonal changes and don't really have a favorite season, but summer has seemed to fly by this year. I appreciate the counting blessings quote. It's a good way to live. Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteYes, counting our blessings is a good thing to do. I love your textural painting along with your beautiful card and tag. That pin that you stuck in the coffee cup really caught my eye. While I am not a coffee drinker, I really like that cup.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your beach time!
Happy Tea day,
Kate

ReplyDeleteThere's something so relaxing and inspiring being next to water. Your beautiful page reminds me of being by the ocean. We're having a heatwave, too, and I'm not complaining. I love this weather. Winter seems to last for 10 months here. Though I'm not looking forward to the change of seasons, I love your Fall tag. The black kitty reminds me of my Ink. Happy T Day
