This Week's Inspirations
Hello Peeps! Oooh, the weather in the Northern hemisphere is getting colder. I got up Sat. AM to open the curtains to- a SNOW squall!!! :( . Thankfully it passed very quickly but it was quite cold and blustery all day. I know I have to accept that tis the season...
I have a tag to share for the Simon Monday Challenge and Simon Wednesday Challenge (theme is "Thanks/Thanksgiving" for both), and Try It On Tuesday (thankful):
Products: manila tag (Ranger); burgundy card stock; Tim Holtz- Worn Wallpaper, Paper Dolls, Small Talk Occasions Stickers, Alpha Tiles, Thinlits dies 660222; Distress ink- Vintage Photo; Distress Oxide ink- Frayed Burlap, Archival ink- Maroon; 3 dots stamp(unknown); fabric tape - Recollections; buttons- Gary Burlin & Co.; natural twine.
For T Stands For Tuesday I will share another breakfast I had during our last stay in Cape May:
Blueberry pancakes, and coffee of course at the Ocean View restaurant;) Yes, they were delicious! And it just came to me- do any of you have pancakes for your dinner? I remember as a kid we would have pancakes for DINNER rather than breakfast every other week!
I have this journal page to share at Art Journal Journey (theme is Vintage or Modern) hosted by Erika this month; Paint Party Friday; AND Simply Neutrals hosted by Wen! Wen is celebrating Simply Neutrals 50th by offering a gorgeous giveaway so do check it out, and leave her some love. Of course it would be great if you'd link up with something neutral too!
Although I am working between at least three art journals, I am currently in love with my newest which is the Dina Wakley Media Journal!!! And I can't get enough of Tim Holtz Snarky Small talk Stickers either! Other products on this page- Tim Holtz Paper Dolls, layering stencil- Linen; Distress Vintage Photo ink; Archival Jet Black ink; Distress spray- Fossilized Amber; gauze scrap; white gesso; black ink.
Hard to believe Thanksgiving Day is next Thursday already! Anyone have any special plans? I'm paring down the menu, keeping it simple, and will only have my Mom and our son and his GF. Hubby and I have tickets for a show Wed. night (which I wasn't so happy about considering all the cooking and cleaning, etc. I'd be doing from Mon. thru Thurs.) but by keeping the meal quite simple it's do-able.
Well, that's it from me for now. Will be around to visit. Happy week!

I love breakfast for dinner, especially after working all day and having light food for breakfast and lunch as I don't have time for a big breakfast. Pancakes are yummy and blueberry ones are my favorite. Yours look delicious. Nice tag art too. And I adore your vintage piece. I like the black and then white checkerboard stenciling. It looks really fantastic. Thanks so much for joining us as AJJ. Once I retire I will start with some other challenges, but right now it is all I can do to remember what a couple of them are. (smile). Have a wonderful T day and again, I appreciate your support for this challenge at AJJ. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteA lovely journal page and tag! I think I need one of those Dina Wakely journals. I know what you mean about working in three journals at once. It is fun to jump around. I find that it keeps me from getting bored.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
I agree - lovely!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby would love to eat those pancakes! :)
Such beautiful artwork. I like the quote on the last piece I will be laughing at that all day.
ReplyDeleteThe pancakes look delicious and I can imagine how good they tasyed
A Very Happy T Day to you

love your tags - that scribbled heart die went onto my shopping list;) and the small talk stickers, too... never saw them before. so cool!
ReplyDeletethe brown of the kraft paper gives such a nice background to white. awesome page! and hopping between var. journals is fun!
we don´t celebrate thanksgiving here, but for christmas we reduced the eating marathon since quite some years - and everybody is happy with it. it is the being-together, that counts.
happy t-day:))
I adore this wonderful tag with all the beautiful details - so happy to see you linking to Try It On Tuesday again dear Linda! Much appreciated! Thank you! And the neutral coloured page is just striking simplicity with such great depth and so pretty atmospheric! A wonderful entry for Erika's theme at Art Journal Journey! Thanks a lot for a another fantastic entry to the challenge!

Hugs, Susi

ReplyDeleteMany congratulations on being In the Spotlight over at Try it on Tuesday with your beautiful tag! J 😊 x
DeleteBeautiful tag and love your journal page-I can't believe November is at the midpoint already with Thanksgiving just around the corner. This year we got invited to have dinner with friends and their family.
ReplyDeleteYes I remember pancakes or waffles for dinner-we usually had a meat with it too like bacon, sausage or ham
Happy T Hugs Kathy
Wonderul tag, Linda. I'm guessing that sketchy heart is a die cut. It's very striking.
ReplyDeleteFabulous background on your vintage/neutrals page. The Dina Wakley Media Journal is very cool. That must be fun to work in - er - play in.
We decided not to cook or entertain this Thanksgiving. Instead we made reservations for Peking duck at the local Chinese Restaurant. The idea of duck (or goose) at a Chinese restaurant for a big holiday makes us think of one of our favorite Christmas movies, Jean Shepherd's "A Christmas Story." So I know we'll have fun. Hopefully the duck will come with the head already chopped off.
Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
I like the charming children and stylish women on the vintage page. I love breakfast for dinner. It's a nice change of pace from the usual dinner fare. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteHaving breakfast food at night isn't unusual here. Pancakes or waffles or biscuits or scrambled eggs and such make for a delicious supper :) Your blueberry pancakes look delicious!
ReplyDeleteGratitude really can change things, and your tag is a welcome reminder.
Happy T Tuesday!
Hello Linda~
ReplyDeleteI am soo loving your tag! Such a great vintage style you have. It flows beautifully~ I'm a big proponent of mixin' some floral and check. What a great look! (I want that heart die ; ) And your neutral journal page! Wowzer - Authentic vintage cool! Love the layers, & the texture it creates; and great focal point ppr dolls~(Mr.Holtz has some great choices to send us on our way; doesn't he? : ) I have really enjoyed visiting your blog and reading & seeing more about your great style~ Have a blessed week ahead! karen o
Wondderful tags. I love those vintage photos. I have family photoslike that.
ReplyDeleteI think it is very thoughtful of your hubby to take you out on Wednesday night. If you have been cleaning and doing so much work all week, you deserve a night away. If you're having turkey, it can be put in the oven overnight. With a bit of prepping on Wednesday during the day, i'm sure it will be a really lovely Thanksgiving. (Of course I have no idea about Thanksgiving, but I always think it is similar to the English Christmas dinner, where the whole family comes together for a huge turkey dinner).
I have had pancakes as a child in stead of a meal. We have flat ones, which are then rolled up with some sort of sweet spread on top (like Nutella, but in my days that didn't exist). Sweet memories...
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Lovely to see your art here, and I like the words on your tag.

I love blueberry pancakes. I could eat pancakes any time of the day or night. They always hit the spot for me. And they go perfectly with coffee, too.
