How is everyone? Here we are feeling a bit water logged. Although it has warmed up nicely we are having so much rain- even had some minor flooding again yesterday. Today is nice but, yup, more rain tomorrow. The exciting news is that yesterday at dusk our first hummingbird of the season appeared!!! I'm hoping I'll be able to get a few pics or video but they are so difficult to capture.
The circle above was painted with Twinkling H2Os. I used a Pitt pen to draw the leaves and petals, and the sentiment is a stamp.
Anyone see the Kentucky Derby? or celebrate Cinco de Mayo? We did neither of those. Missed the Derby because we had made plans quite awhile ago to spend time with friends we don't get to see often enough. They surprised us by treating us to dinner at a wonderful place called Amici Pizzeria & Restaurant not far from them and just across the bridge from PA to NJ. Excellent service and food!!! It's a BYOB so we brought an Italian wine and a French wine:
I didn't get pics of the appetizers and salads but I did get the main course- 3 of us had the scallops special and they were melt in your mouth delicious! And with so much food, and fresh bread and garlic olive oil hubby still had room for this:
Hello T Stands for Tuesday gang! He couldn't decide so he got two desserts- mint chocolate chip gelato, and a slice of tiramisu cake-and he ate every bit! No worries for him though, he is a runner and biker:) Then our lovely friends picked up the tab as a birthday gift. We are blessed with beautiful, fun, kind friends.
Here is a card I made for another birthday celebration- this one is for Simon Says Stamp who is celebrating 10 years!!! Joining the Simon Wednesday Challenge (birthday/anything goes) and the Simon Monday Challenge (add something metallic):
Products: from Simon Says Stamp- Simon Says Stamp dies- Bixby Border, Mod leaf Oval; Simon Says Stamp Moonshine sequins; Neenah Classic solar white #110 card stock; Darice adhesive strips; Hero Arts acetate sheets; Versafine Onyx Black ink. Other products- sentiment- Papertrey Ink, assorted metallic sequins-Nicole crafts- AC Moore.
Two more circle art pieces:
The background is gift wrap that came with an order from Joggles. Sentiment is Tim Holtz stickers. Bird is a stencil. Linking this one to Try It On Tuesday (things with wings).
and I will link this one to Moo Mania and More (theme is Just One Word). Background paper, chipboard flower and word are Tim Holtz. The bee is from a napkin. I used a scrap of recycled dryer sheet behind the flower.
That's it for this week. I will be taking a short blogging break next week. Wishing everyone a very Happy Mother's Day on Sunday! (yes, if you have a pet of any kind you count as a mother;)
" We are born of love. Love is our mother. Rumi
we have storms returning tonight again too for a few days-and more flooding in the area for sure-we have had too much rain as well.
ReplyDeletealways enjoy seeing your art pieces. Your meal sounds so good I love seafood.
Happy T wishes Kathy
We finally had sun today. What a spring. Boy your dinner looks delicious. And I got a big kick out your husband's double dessert. He looks like he is really having fun with 2 of them too. And beautiful art today. The shaker card is cool and thanks so much for joining our Things With Wings challenge at Try It On Tuesday. Have a wonderful T day Linda. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteSo much rain this year! But it's been sunny the last 2 days. It's nice :) I love seeing the hummingbirds come back. I need to get out the feeder. That food looks delicious! No wonder it was hard to decide. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteBeautiful art, as always. The food in the restaurant looks heavenly, and the BYOB idea is fantastic - wish that would catch on here, drinks are always soooooooooo expensive. Glad you enjoyed your birthday gift from your friends. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeletealways love your circle art ♥
ReplyDeletesend a bit of rain over to me. we only had few mm the last days, that does not come down to the roots!
happy t-day:)
My sincere apologies. I'm leaving this message for everyone. I had to take my friend Sally to the emergency room Monday afternoon. I stayed with her until the ER doctors ran several tests, then admitted her to the hospital. When I got home, I found my basement was flooded from the many rounds of rain we are having. I'm still getting water out because I have no sump pump. I'll be back by to share T just as soon as I have the water under control, because I don't want mold to set in. For those of you who may not know, Twin Peaks is a sports bar that specializes in busty young, scantily clad female servers.
ReplyDeleteWhat a joyful posting ! Wonderful art again dear Linda!
ReplyDeleteHave a great T-Day and week my artful friend!

I had the same weather as Erika,. More rain is on the way. Dinner looks fabulous and so do the desserts. I think I would have picked the Tiramisu. I'm so glad the art you showed is delicious eye candy and calorie free. Happy T Day

What a delicious meal! I would love those desserts too, mint choc chip ice cream is my favourite ...lol 😉. Your artwork is beautiful! I love your things with wings entry, the feather background is wonderful - thanks for the inspiration! Wishing you a Happy T Day! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteThat is so wonderful that your friends treated you to several meals. And those desserts are delicious looking.
ReplyDeleteThat shaker card is really pretty!
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Love your "Hello" circle, Linda. Wow, your frame drawing is perfectly precise. How did yo do that! In fact, I love all your circles.
ReplyDeleteNo, we didn't watch the Derby or observe Cindo de Mayo. Surprisingly, Cinco de Mayo is not a big holiday in our part of Mexico. But let me tell you about the two weeks around Easter, then Children's Day and May Day. I've heard enough fireworks to last the rest of my life - lol.
Happy T-day and Happy Mother's Day! Eileen xx
Hi Linda, your card is lovely with the shaker and the artwork is beautiful, I love how you’ve done them in circles.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely meal and well done to your husband for managing a desert too,
Happy T day

Oooh that food looks delicious. I love scallops. The Bring Your Own is such a good idea. I keeps the price of the meals down. In the UK, restaurants have to have a special licence to sell alcohol, but if you bring your own, they don't need the licence as they are not selling it. They do often charge one Pound corking fee, but that is nothing.
ReplyDeleteThe shaker card is lovely. Well done!
I was just looking again and saw that your hubby had TWO deserts in front of him! And he ate both! Wow!
Happy belated T-Day,
Lisca
A fabulous post Linda! I love your Twinkling H2o circle and the other circles, especially the birdie one for Try It On Tuesday! Thank you so much for joining us! Your shaker card is brilliant! Your meal looks delicious and yes, I have seen my hubby do the two desert thing!!! Belated Happy T day! Chrisx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects, especially that shaker birthday card. Oh, I would have eaten both desserts, too! But, alas , I an not a biker or jogger, and that is why I have gained weight this past year! Ach! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAs promised, I am finally back to share T with you (and your husband, too).
ReplyDeleteI love that first card with the Twinkling H2Os. I recently moved mine so I could get to them easier. I love what you did with your card.
Your circles are adorable. It was fun seeing all those circles you created in April. They are gems. Your birthday card is lovely, too. I like that technique.
Your husband looks like he is having a great time. I would love a nice tiramisu and your husband's looks like it is beautiful. His coffee went well with both desserts, too.
Thanks for sharing your awesome art, your shaker card, and your husband's two desserts and coffee with us for T this week, Linda. I am so sorry to be so late visiting.
