Everything is blossoming here and it makes me so happy to see so much color! Of course, it still goes from warm to cold and back again so the heavy coverlet and socks are still out, but it won't be for much longer;)
Let's start off with some delicious food and drink for T Stands For Tuesday hosted by Bleubeard and Elizabeth:
Our son recently treated hubby and I to a special dinner for our 60th birthdays and we chose Apollo Grille in town. The food is SO good here! It truly is a treat as it is a bit pricey .We did start with a Caesar salad but I forgot about taking a pic. My dinner in the first pic - a special catch- Rockfish, and it was prepared as was the delicious rice, with lemon, coconut, mango.Yum! A Cabernet and water to drink. Hubby had the shrimp stuffed with crab meat and deemed it mouth watering. His drink was Blue Moon beer. No pics of Todd's or Kyra's meals but they also enjoyed theirs very much.
I've been having so much fun with Dina Wakley supplies lately so here is a small variety of projects:
I made this tag by painting the background using DW paints and stencil along with a Stabilo All pencil. The image is from her Collage Collective Book and the words are from one of her Collage Tissue Words packs. I scribbled along the right side with a Fude Ball pen. And then for fun I added it on one of the pages in the DW Collage Collective book:
it fits quite well on this page doesn't it? Joining Tag Tuesday (Faces); the Simon Monday Challenge (Tag It); and Art Journal Journey (Having Fun).
Here are a few more circle art pieces I did for Birgit Koopsen's Instagram challenge of "Everything Circles". It ends as of the 30th and I have kept up every single day-longest challenge I ever participated in (go me!).The only requirement was to have the circle shape somewhere on your art. It was I who chose to literally make circle art and add another piece to the challenge:) I did also do two journal pages just for a change.
This one came quite quickly cuz that was just how I was feeling that day. I stenciled over a gelli plate print, added the DW Collage Collective face and stitched over a few of the scribble lines already in place, added the computer printed words, then sponged the edges with black ink.
Another DW Collage Collective face, collage tissue background and sentiment. Butterfly and star stickers from my stash.
And this one I'll join Moo Mania and More (Spring Fever); and Try it On Tuesday(Springtime) with:
Tim Holtz Collage Tissue Paper (Symphony), Tim Holtz Botanicals chipboard pieces.
Joining in at Paint Party Friday too! Enjoy your week, and thanks so much for taking the time to leave me a comment-much appreciated. <3

Happy belated birthday Linda. Your son certainly gave you a special treat for the big day. Your meal looks delicious. My next birthday is a big one for me, next year, and I want to do something special but not sure what that will be. I still have some time to think about it I guess. And I am loving all the art today, especially brain overload. That one is me right now. Smile. Thanks for sharing your spring piece with us at try It On Tuesday also. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYour circle art is wonderful but that first one is fabulous! Those threads and the white space really make the piece.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delicious looking meal that your son treated you too. At 60 you certainly deserve it!

Ooh, belated birthday greetings, Linda - and hubby! I hope it was fun :-) Your food looks absolutely delicious - I especially love the sound of what you chose. Your art is wonderful :-) Love the DW stuff - I have those stamps but never make anything quite as arty as yours - it's stunning. I'm with Erika on the Brain Overload - love that particular piece. But of course I love your entry for TIOT. Spring is amazing and we really should be celebrating it! I'm with you on the gorgeous colours around at the moment. I'm just waiting for a little more warmth and sunshine.

Thank you for sharing one of these pieces with the Try it on Tuesdays theme.
Happy T day wishes Linda.

I loved your "gutsy" tag and adding to a background that could incorporate Art Journal Journey was GENIUS. Thanks for being so supportive of Wendy's theme at AJJ, too.
ReplyDeleteHad it not been for my 22 days of recycling, I would have loved to have joined that circle challenge. Your circle art is amazing, and I am so happy you have kept up with this full month challenge. Pat yourself on the back, dear Linda. GOOD job!
Your food looks wonderful. I personally like your husband's shrimp and crab. It looks like something I would order. I would also order water and if forced to, I would have a stout beer, because I simply don't care for wine. But I know you do, and I think your Chardonnay looks lovely.
Thanks for sharing your incredible art, your meal, and your water and Chardonnay with us for T this Tuesday, dear Linda.
I like all of your artwork, especially the circle pieces. The meals you had looked delicious. The weather you're having in PA sounds similar to mine in CT: it got warm, then it got cool, now it's off and on rain for the next few days. There's also a Bethlehem in CT: one year I mailed my Christmas cards from their post office, to have that as the postmark. Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful birthday dinner. Your artwork is lovely, especially the tag, and how you put it on your collage. Happy crafting!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Looks like an awesome celebration. As we usually get our weather from you. same chilly, wet forecast. At least it isn't snow! Go you for finishing the circle challenge. As I've been watching Mama Cardinal this morning on her nest, my favorite is the Sing out loud. I think she hatched her eggs! Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteLovely time with dinner with your son ~ Happy Birthdays! ~ Wonderful tag creation ~ be gutsy ~ yep! And that brain overload I can relate to ~ LOL ~ also very creative!
