Going In Circles and Having Fun!
It's been such fun making circle art each day for a 30 day Instagram challenge and I love when I can link to blog challenges too. So here are a few more. This one and my next one are dedicated to Earth Day (today, Monday, the day of this post). Of course every day should be considered Earth day, right? I just want to mention here that the bit stuff that looks like filament behind the words is from a recycled dryer sheet. I use them quite often but have not considered dyeing them which is what Elizabeth of Altered Book Lover brilliantly shared here. Sadly her original blog is locked so she has had to recreate a temporary new blog. Please do visit her special recycling posts, and wish her a very happy bEARTHday too! Happy birthday dear Elizabeth!!
This is my Earth Day #2 circle:
My next circles have a Spring theme going so I will be joining Moo Mania and More (Spring Fever); The Simon Wednesday Challenge (Spring Mood board); Try It On Tuesday (Springtime); and the Simon Monday Challenge (Going Around in Circles):
The chipboard violets and girl are Tim Holtz as is the sentiment sticker. Moonshine sequins are Simon Says Stamp. The background for this circle and the previous one were made by applying reinker colors to the backs of Dina Wakley white printed collage tissues then gluing to watercolor paper once dry.
Tim Holtz chipboard, circles die (behind the flower basket) is Simon Says Stamp.
The following card is meant for a challenge I am entering for the first time and is inspired by this card created by Lorraine of Lorraine's Loft. I guess you can say I "cased" her card but mine is much simpler looking and not near as beautifully detailed as hers. And her coloring of the House-Mouse stamps is fabulous!
The dragonfly wings really aren't that blue but I was unable to get the right angle for the glitter glue no matter how I tried. Funny thing about this stamp:
I had almost forgotten this was originally a stamp made many years ago and that I still had it!! This series of adorable designs are now owned and made as cling stamps by Stampendous. The sentiment is an old stamp made by Stampendous. Other products: large notecard (Recollections); Neenah #110 Smooth Solar White card stock(Simon Says Stamp); Jet Black Archival ink; patterned paper(?); Wonky Rectangles dies (Simon Says Stamp); colored pencils; Stickles glitter glue (Ranger).
Joining in at House-Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge (theme is Anything Goes + the option of Spring). Check out the fab DT inspirations and if you have any of the House-Mouse stamps do join in- there are great prizes to be had!
Break time, so I will share my meal and drink from a recent revisit to our favorite hibachi restaurant Komé:
Of course we had a blast and the food-SO good! My salmon dinner gave me a big meal for the next day as well. Water and warm sake were my drink choices. Joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth and peeps for T Stands For Tuesday.
One more bit of art, a journal page meant for Art Journal Journey (theme is Having Fun):
This page is in my Creative Dyary Journal inspired by the Dina Wakley Collage Collective Book as well as her collage tissue papers.
Joining Paint Party Friday as well. Happy week everyone!

I am loving the circles Linda. You really made some that are perfect for Earth Day. And I also love the other art as well, especially how you made the dragonfly wings look so real and rather sparkly. And your Hibachi meal looks delicious. My husband has never been out for hibachi and I keep saying we need to go, but I don't think he really wants to as he always has a reason why we need to eat elsewhere. Yet when we go to our local Asian cuisine restaurant he seems quite curious about it. Happy T day Linda. Hugs-Erika

The circles are so refreshing. I love the violets against the yellow circle. Like a big yellow sun which I haven't seen much of over the week as we've had so much rain. Your card is adorable, too. I love going out to eat and having leftovers for an awesome lunch the following day. I enjoyed all the eye candy you showed. A delicious no calorie dessert. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteYour artwork is gorgeous, I love the circles as it looks really unusual.
ReplyDeleteI love house mouse too, I have a CD, I’ve had it years but I sometimes remember it and print out a few, they are so cute.
Have a great week

ReplyDeleteHappy T-day! Eileen xx
I love these circle art pieces. Your details and arrangements are so good that it makes me wonder how I could adapt the idea for little ATCs ;) Happy T Tuesday
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for being so late visiting. After being out all day yesterday, I came home, expecting to get on the internet and leave comments. However, what happened was I fell asleep and just woke a short time ago. The boys were so good and I laid down with them just for a second. That turned into at least five hours.
ReplyDeleteI wish that circles challenge had been a different month, because it sounds like you are having fun with them. You have created two beauties. They are both perfect for Earth Day, too. I love what you did with your dryer sheet, too. Tearing it like that made it look entirely different, and I like it a LOT.
Speaking of liking, I really like your journal page. Your use of stencils and tissues speak volumes. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey.
You color so well. I can't color at all and stay within the lines. Your house mouse is really cute.
I'm delighted to see you visited Kome again. Your salmon looks wonderful and to be truthful, I've never even seen sake, much less tasted it. Thanks for sharing it and your water, as well as all your art projects with us for T this Tuesday, dear Linda.
Oh, Linda ~ love the circle artwork! Hope East was great ~ (I'll be back)

ReplyDeleteI love your circle art. It's especially appropriate for Earth Day as the Earth is round too. The circles have inspired me to use circles in a scrapbook lay-out.
ReplyDeleteYour journal page is great. You are so good at colouring in! (although you don't think you are).
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

The circle art at the start is terrific, so many different themes and colour combs. I haven't seen all of these on Instagram, probably due to the crazy algorithm they use to show entries.
ReplyDeleteYour last piece is super too, I love the colourful patterned dress and the muted background.
Love your super cute HM card, Linda, wonderful image. Thank you for joining us at House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge.
