Touring France...
via armchair travel with the Tour de France that is!! Unlike Chris and her hubby who really are touring France again, and I must admit to being a bit envious:) And for those of you who don't know, I am a bit obsessed with following the race each day and following the routes in my France Atlas too. Been doing it for some years now. And this year I decided to take a "selfie TDF sock" photo for Instagram for a chance to win 100 English pounds. The Tour Race guide book has been including a pair of socks the last few years but I've only been on IG a year now and that's the only way to enter.
With that said, along with summer and being outdoors I am not getting as much art done and that's OK. I'll make up for it when the weather turns cold...
For T Stands for Tuesday my hubby gave a special pose just for all you peeps there:
This was at the Merion Inn in Cape May. Our waitress (a favorite, charming lady we ask for all the time) surprised Bill with a chocolate ganache cake for dessert - on the house! of course it was divine as I did have a taste before he devoured it:):)
And these are the remainder of my first 30 days of ICADS (Index card a Day Challenge art on IG) and then all of them together:
They were all made starting with Gelli Plate printed deli paper backgrounds. For July I have been doing something different and I'll share the first of those in my next post.
Edit: Since I have had a few questions about the quotes... most of them I've used- and all the "snarky" ones on my ICADS or on journal pages are Tim Holtz Stickers, but I will also find quotes to use on the computer or in one of my handful of quote books and print them out to use:)
And finally I will share a journal page I did a little while ago:
The roses are on a transparency paper. I added bits of lace paper around it, and it is white as in the detail photo. For some reason it took on a yellow tone in the full page.
Joining Paint Party Friday later this week.
Thanks for dropping by, and don't forget- next week Bleubeard and Elizabeth of Altered Book Lover will be celebrating 6 years of T Stands For Tuesday! It would be so fun to have you join in!

I think you've been really creative Linda. I am impressed with all the art you've created. I've never really gotten into following the tour de France but I bet it is fun and interesting to do. I love how you use an atlas and follow them along. Have a super T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteOh Linda, I am so impressed with your tour de France photo. I hope you win, because it's a great "selfie." Or maybe a great "footie."
ReplyDeleteI love your ICADs. I never thought of using gelli prints, but I didn't make many the one time I used my gelli. Yours make such great backgrounds. I also love that you use your sewing machine, too. It adds something special. Seeing yours all together for June, was quite fun, too.
Your journal page is beautiful. It is a clearly different style than you normally use, though.
Your husband was two fisted with that dessert. I had to laugh at his eagerness. He is such a GOOD sport, too. Thanks for sharing your beautiful ICADs, your journal page, and your husband's coffee and dessert with us for T this Tuesday, dear friend.
I am totally impressed with your ICADs Linda, love to see them on insta and I love to see the display of the whole month as well. GORGEOUS! And this gorgeous page, my gosh. It works perfectly with the Rumi quote you at the end of this amazing T-Day posting.Thank you for linking up with AJJ again dear Linda. Charming pose of Bill, this dessert must have been divine!
ReplyDeleteHappy T-Day, stay creative and happy♥️♥️♥️

Wonderful ICADs. That cake and coffee looks fabulous. Enjoy watching the Tour de France. Happy T day and have a fun week, Valerie
ReplyDeleteoh those icads, adorable - and so good to look at them as a monthly circle. maybe next year i will take part also. your blog header piece is perfect for the season! have a great week, xox, johanna
ReplyDeleteFabulous index cards, Linda - so much variety and a great way to use up your gelli prints. Love the journal page - wonderful! I love the idea of following the 'tour de France', too - great way to do it. When I lived in the Parisian suburbs, it used to pass at the bottom of my street, but unfortunately, my boys weren't very interested in it, so we didn't watch. I love France, too... and am a little envious of Chris! She told me what she'd be doing and where she'd be going when I met up with her at the Port Sunny show...she's a lovely, lovely lady ;-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Tour...I'm enjoying Wimbledon - the only time in the year I ever allow sport on my tv, lol - I love tennis!

How beautiful Linda. I love your art and quotes.
ReplyDeleteThat cake does look divine - hubby did a good posing job with it :D)
Your selfie socks made me smile and I'm glad you are enjoying the Tour de France 😁. It looks like you had so much fun making all those amazing ICADs too, I love the array of designs - beautiful! Such a lovely art journal page too! Wishing you a Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteGreat artwork. You have such funny, clever sayings on them. (Did you write those yourself? If yes, kudos to you.) I like the socks selfie. That dessert looks delicious. Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun photo of Bill. How can he eat like that and stay so fit?
ReplyDeleteGood for you on completing all the ICADs for June. Boy, there are some beauties in there. I love the "you can never have too much happy" and the "Lost in Translation" ones. Your gel plate print backgrounds are wonderful.
Happy T-day! Eileen xx
Your first index is wonderful simplicity and delightful colors ~ ^_^

What beautiful index cards. I love all those different quotes too. Where do you find them!
ReplyDeleteI've never done gelli prints (as I haven't got the necessary equipment) but yours looks really nice.
I had to smile at Bill, eager to tuck into his dessert, which I admit, looks divine.
I've never followed the Tour de France. I did sometimes follow the Giro d'Italia when we lived in Italy, as it sometimes came through our town. Here we don't have tv so I don't follow anything. I was very enthusiastic about the women's football (soccer) world championships. I follwed the scores of the Dutch team and they made it to the finals. But eventually the USA girls won. (deservedly. They are very good)
Enjoy Wimbledon (and keep an eye on Coco)
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
What a fun pose from your husband. That must be wonderful to have a restaurant that you frequent when you visit Cape May. And how lovely that your waitress gave you that delicious looking dessert on the house. Such a great way to treat their loyal customers.
ReplyDeleteYour index cards are lovely. Each one is full of so much color and texture. I loved seeing them all displayed in one picture. Where do you buy your deli paper? I have never worked with it before but I bet it is a wonderful base.
Enjoy watching the race. My hubby loves to watch as well.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
The Tour de France! I used to follow it but haven't in years. I hadn't realized it was even happening. Thanks for the heads up :) I'll check into its progress.
ReplyDeleteI have a small gelli plate in my save-for-later Amazon cart, thinking it'd be fun to try on ATCs. Yours inspire me :) So many delightful index cards. I love how they turned out.
Happy T Tuesday!
Love your TDF socks. Now that’s a fan! What a good sport your hubby is to pose for a T Day picture. So nice to have a favorite spot where the staff know you. Like Norm from Cheers. That dessert looks amazing, but not as amazing as your artwork Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteYour ICADs and journal page are all wonderful. Love the photo of your date for dessert. ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy T day!
Happy PPF and have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie

What a bold group of index cards. My favourites are the beautiful first and last 😃 Journal art page is great. I know how difficult is to get right shades of originals
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF and weekend 💝
I do agree we can never have too much happy. Thanks for all the gorgeous art today. happy PPF, happy you dropped by my blog
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by Valerie
Much🎨❤🎨love
Bill was one lucky man to get that yummy looking chocolate ganache for free! I'm loving all your weekly iCads, but my favorite this week is the one with the quote about never having enough happy. Have a great week and happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteLove the 'too much happy' ~ darling artwork!

Your index pages are super, love the colours!!!
ReplyDeleteI love art challenges. They get me motivated to draw and paint. - Margy
ReplyDeleteah Cape May... so pretty but we only went once since they didn't like dogs on the main shopping street. I love what you're making and the quotes. Hey trainwreck is my fave today!
ReplyDeleteLeeAnna
That's too bad about your dog experience. It must have been quite awhile ago as dogs are allowed pretty much everywhere- including the Washington Street Mall, and there are more and more places that are dog friendly places to stay too.
DeleteOMG! I love the Marion Inn!!! My sister and I vacationed in Cape for many years. Your artwork is so creatively playful!
ReplyDeleteHow cool! Then you must not live too far from me or Cape May on the East coast?
DeleteGreat photo of Bill. Lovely art and I too love the one about being happy.
ReplyDeleteI've not tried the gelli with deli papers, I must have a go and hope they come out as nice as yours.
ReplyDeleteThese are all so beautiful!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome art collection!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the display of your icads!!
ReplyDeleteHow creative you are! I'm inspired. :D
ReplyDeleteLove it all ~ beautiful and creative artwork! ^_^

so much art! Would be impossible for me to create I think. I think you have a good eew for design. They all look beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful collection and the quotes are just so perfect! Great journal page too - there's something about the layout and airy palette that is really thoughtful and lovely!
ReplyDeleteGreat collection!
ReplyDeleteI smile for your obsession of Tour de France - your way to enjoy is very
environmentally friendly, well done :)
Bill looks super happy with the cake!! Congratulations on finishing 30 days of ICAD. Love them as well as the one with all of them together. The journal page is so lovely, the background is beautiful as is the lady.
