How's everyone? You really know it's winter on bitter cold, grey days like we've been having, and it's continuing. Luckily very minimal snow - just some snow showers here and there. And poor Florida-yikes!! It got to below freezing at night in some places, and not very warm during the day either. I guess we all know what that means... the prices of citrus fruits and drinks will be going up again😬. I guess you all have noticed wherever you live that prices of everything keeps going up - and on a weekly basis at many of the grocery stores. All we can do is hang in there. And let's warm up with some soup!
I happen to love Valentine's Day and like to send cards out to friends so I was thrilled to finally have my Simon Says Stamp order arrive:
I had won a GC from them and I added to it for a few extra goodies:):) And yes, Elizabeth- you're right, I do tend to be lucky and have won lots of art supply giveaways 😁!
As you can see I started playing a bit by die cutting, and even stenciling. I love that hearts die because it works not only as the die itself, but then all those punched out hearts can be used as well. As you can see at the top right I already have a little baggie of the hearts I have collected after die cutting 😉. My cards are just about done now 💓.
Here is a spread in the Dina Wakley Kraft Journal:
My pages were made using DW stencils, paints, Scribble Sticks, and sentiment stamp. Also used- Posca pens for the spatters.
Art Journal Journey's theme this month is "Let's Face It" so I have one more journal page for it:
I began with a grid base and a few colors- something I haven't done in awhile. And this is the completed page:
Dina Wakley face stamp, sentiment stamp, and paints. Leaf stencil is by Tracey Scott. Posca pens for some mark making/doodles. I just can't seem to get enough of Dina Wakley products nor do I tire of using them (more on that next week;).
Linking with Paint Party Friday too!
That's it for today. I've got some more art making to do, what about you?

Hi Linda. It sure is winter right now, isn't it? Not just the season winter, but real winter. WE don't have lots of snow right now, but the forecast for Saturday right now is saying a BIG snow. UGH! I made soup today too, and yours looks yummy. Thanks so much for sharing your art today too at Art Journal Journey. Both pages work well. You've created some super background lately. I like them. I hope you have a wonderful T day and week ahead. I hope it will be less cold and snow. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I would love a bowl of your soup-sounds delicious and I love fresh mushrooms and zucchini. I didn't realize Florida got so cold-we had warmer days over the weekend but saw the weather change over the lake late this afternoon-it will be back to 4 degrees tonight with strong winds. no snow here either which is fine as I will be shoveling it -smiles love seeing your art, that is fun to win supplies too-Happy T Kathy
ReplyDeleteI like your art journal page!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is winter in many parts in the US. We're having unseasonal warm days instead which really worries me. I wish we would get way more rain. Of course I also enjoy the mild days, I'm sitting in the garden every day with my knitting and the company of the neighbors' cats. But it's January! Happy T day!
You are getting more snow than we got, but we still got the same bitter cold you got.
ReplyDeleteI would love to share that soup with you. I love both zucchini and mushrooms. And the soup pairs well with your lemon water. I am now hungry.
Your art is wonderful. I especially like the grid pattern. I must try that sometime. And it went well with the Dina Wakley stamps, too. Nice you chose to share this page with us at Art Journal Journey using Erika's theme. And congrats on even MORE great wins. You have to enter to win, and you do that a lot, so it's only fair you should win a lot, too. Thanks for sharing your art at AJJ and your wonderful soup and water with us for T this Tuesday, dear.
The soup sounds yummy. And, yes, we have situations like that here, too, food-wise...
ReplyDeleteGreat pages and true words! Happy T-Day :-)
Fabulous art, as always. Congrats on your win! Sorry I didn't get round to visiting last week, I was just to ill to sit at the computer! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteA fantastic selection of art pages Linda and thank you for linking with Erika's theme at AJJ.
ReplyDeleteYour soup sounded and looked delicious.

Such beautiful art today, loving those quotes! Your soup looks delicious too 😀. Stay warm and Happy T Day wishes! Hugs Jo x
ReplyDeleteWe have had similar weather all month, but some actual snow fell yesterday. It's at least a week until we expect the temperature to rise above the freezing point. Real winter! I hope you at least get some sun.

"Baby, It's Cold Outside!" is one of the things we say when the weather gets unseasonable cold. Followed by "Never such a blizzard before" and other lines altered to be funny ;) Brrr!!!
ReplyDeleteFood prices are shocking! I paid $20 for a pot roast the other day. It'll be a long time before I do that again :(
I like your background just like it is even before you added things to it lol Nice! Happy T Tuesday
Real winter here too with cold as well. Soup sounds good, reminds me I should make some.
ReplyDeleteBoth pages are beautiful Linda! I especially love that second one.
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here wearing lots of layers. Whenever I go out, my husband turns the heating off, and I'm still waiting for the house to warm up again! Arrrggghhh! Roll on Spring!
Hugs,
Alison
Linda, I know you love to cook. You can make your own chilies relleno. Poblano, ancho, or chili peppers, white or Monterrey jack cheese (my favorite), flour, eggs, and a good smokeless oil are all you need. Of course, you need lots of patience when you make them because they are extremely labor intensive. But they are SO good. There are great recipes all over the net, but I use one from a Mexican church cookbook I was given years ago.
ReplyDeleteGreat winter photo and your soup sounds delish! Xo
ReplyDeleteThey are predicting a snowstorm this weekend in MA ~ sigh ~ good time for soup ~ Xo
