And yes, I am still creating canvases with a mosaic background inspired by Serena Barton recently. Most of you know what I am talking about but for those of you who don't I have links in this post and in this one.
I decided to play with scale by working on two smaller canvases:
This is the base of a 4" x 4" stretched canvas covered in paper squares.
"Remember"
Papers, images from ARTchix Studio, plastic scrap for stenciling, blue acrylic paint, mulberry paper, and a bunch of Distress Reinkers mixed with Golden Glaze Medium, black inkpad to distress the edges. The next one is even smaller:
2 3/4" x 2 3/4"
"Lucky"
Papers, image from ARTchix Studio, stencil, purple acrylic paint, dryer sheet remnants, a bunch of distress reinkers with Golden Glaze Medium, black inkpad to distress the edges.
I'm linking these to the Simon Monday Challenge Blog for the theme "D is For Distress" .
I'll also see you at Creative Every Day and Paint Party Friday. Paint Party Friday is celebrating their three year birthday/anniversary/blogiversary!! Congrats and thank you EVA and Kristin!!
Please come back tomorrow for a very special post and giveaway!!

Hi Linda, Happy St. Patrick's Day. It was such a big holiday in our family growing up. My father was so proud of being Irish and so was I.
ReplyDeleteYour work is lovely. I always appreciate how much you create and how varied your work is. Thank you for sharing what you do each week. I am always inspired to paint when I visit your site.

St Patrick must have been one of those happy Irish saints who enjoyed life to the full and it seems to be reflected in the way we celebrate him. The ATCs looks gorgeous, full of that wonderful greenness. I must follow the links for the mosaic technique as I love what you've done with it.
ReplyDeleteSmashing work Linda, Happy PPF, Annette x

I love the texture and depth that you acquired in both of your stunning canvases through the use of your mosaic backgrounds. By the way, my wife is Scotch-Irish, so we celebrate St. Patrick's day every year too. May your weekend be filled with blessings.
ReplyDeleteOh Linda, you are the gal that sent me to Serena Barton's site and learned so much from you and her as well as the others I mentioned on my site. Unfortunately I have such a mess on my history that for the life of me I couldn't remember who had given me the link to her site, now I know! I will add your name to my post!!! Thanks a bunch! Love your Irish cloth and paper collages and reminding me to post a pic of a wooden pipe I found at Sally's a few years back….good luck charm, I guess you know : ) Happy Saint Pats Linda!

ReplyDeleteHello Linda! ATC:s for ST. Patricks day look wonderful. I also like your collagecards. The one with shamrock/hemlock is my favorite. One of my friends just told different meaning of the count of hemlock leaves- they are all for good luck but the one with four leaves is "Super luckt" :) -Niina
