My first "T" is for thank you cards:
I used an oldie but goodie rubber stamp from PSX, gold embossed it and colored it in with markers.
The stamps used are a clear UM set "Just Saying" by Inkadinkado and the die I used is a custom die template by Spellbinders.
We were so very lucky to have missed the heavy snow and ice that reached many parts of the northeast again Sun. and Mon.!! I swear it's because I waved that snow stick around like a magic wand and wished so very hard for the snow to stay away this time :) However, it is unseasonably bitter cold. The perfect way to stay warm? Well for me it begins with a good hot cup of coffee first thing and then besides water I sip tea (decafe only) throughout the day.
This is what my art desk is looking like right now, complete with a large cup of dark cherry berry tea:
Notice that my cup is on the left. I am right handed so this way there is no chance of dipping a brush into it:)
As you can see I am very busy with my drawing lessons, but we'll see how far I actually progress today because early this evening my friend Carol and I have tickets to see and meet with Ryan Kelly of Celtic Thunder! He's going to be at our local PBS station filming a promo for Celtic Thunder's new "Symphony" tour. One of their tour stops will be right here in town at the Sands Event Center on Nov. 23rd and you can bet I'll be there:). This will be the 5th time hubby and I have seen them!
OK, off to visit you and get myself together for tonight...
"Springtime is the land awakening. The March winds are the morning yawn." Lewis Grizzard
I saw your lovely spring time blog banner and wished it was here, too. We're still stuck with snow and cold. Like you, our PBS station is featuring a known musician/artist, Gordon Lightfoot. I've heard of him, but he's from a different generation from what I grew up with.
ReplyDeleteYour cup is a work of art on its own. It is beautiful and that tea sounds so yummy.
Thanks for sharing T today with your lovely cards and art.
Both cards are attractive, always nice to have on hand too. Your drawings (the peek I could see) look great. Have a good time tonight.

Bitter chill in March's "morning yawn" here too dear Linda...
ReplyDeleteHappy for you to miss having more snow as I know you've had your fill already ;)
You really made me giggle about placing your cup out of brush dipping range ... in the heat of creating it is not hard for that sort of thing to happen!
Lovely pages on your desk!
Happy Mardi Gras

Mmmmn. I can smell that tea.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh what you said about not dipping your brush in your tea! I know that issue! I also often throw bits of paper in my tea instead of the bin!
Now those cards are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Love that die cut. Need that one. This blogging malarky is expensive!.
Your pages look great.
Thanks for visiting.
Hugs
xx
Your cards look great, and so does your cherry-berry tea. I also like the new look of your blog banner. Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteI noticed your new header only now. It looks so artistic:) I love it. Yes, I too am so Thankful that we didn't get the snow. Your sketch looks great Thank you for sharing them each time.
ReplyDeleteHave a great evening
Susan
You did a really great job waving that magic wand, because the snow missed us this time, too! The rose card is just beautiful, and yes, I have dipped or dropped things in my cup a time or two. Now I keep it completely behind me!
ReplyDeleteHappy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteYou make lovely cards! And that's a smart idea to put the cup on the "wrong" side. Good thing I am doing my work digitally so I shouldn't be dipping my stylus into my cup.
Thanks for the visit earlier.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your PSX card. I have used their stamps for years, just some of my favorites.
Had to giggle about your cup on the LEFT side. I don't know how many times I have put a brush in my coffee. Of course there was one time I needed white lace to be tinted and just threw it in my coffee cup.....LOL!
Hello Linda,
ReplyDeleteI love your new header! It is really YOU! Your cards are lovely. Truly. The rose embossed card is stunning! The second one so regal! Very classy.
I am so glad you are enjoying your artful days. How wonderful! I too keep my tea away from my water jar.lol! Once, I brushed my teeth with my old brush I use to splatter paint! I had used it the night before and laid it by the sink to dry...and in the morning I was already too caught up with dreaming about art to pay attention : )
Hugs,
Terri
Your cards are gorgeous, and love the peek into your art journal...I love the beach too! Hope to hear more about your visit with a celebrity...sounds like a lot of fun! happy T day a bit late...
ReplyDeleteLove your cards! Very smart to put the coffee to the left. I've done the dip before. What a bummer!!
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm late but I did manage a post...a day late and all. :)
