Sketched in pencil then a black Pitt pen(sorry for the dark photo):
And finished in watercolors:
I may add a bit more doodling around as I go. Of course I'm linking to Kate Crane's Calendar Project.
Next up are two cards I needed to make for upcoming events and what a better way to be inspired than by challenges!
This is the sketch challenge for this week at Freshly Made Sketches:
Both cards I made are also for the theme of "Father's Day/ Masculine -make anything for a Man/Boy" over at the Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog:
Products: kraft note card (Canvas Corp.); patterned papers (sources unknown); Versafine Onyx Black ink (Tsukineko); clear stamp (Papertrey Ink); Vintage Photo Distress ink (Ranger); die cut bird (Colorbok); die cut tag (K & Company); metallic dots (Craft Essentials-JoAnne Stores).
Products: white note card (Canvas Corp); white card stock; papers-Bubbles (American Crafts), Striped (NRN Designs); clear stamps (Papertrey Ink); Versafine Onyx Black ink(Tsukineko); bow-Stylish Accents (Offray); Sky Blue Vivid dye ink ( Clearsnap); die cut machine and Labels 1 dies (Spellbinders).
My last offering for today is a journal page prompted by the Sunday Mornings online class with Mindy Lacefield. It started with this background which I had painted in my book months ago using texture paste then watered down acrylic paints. I was holding on to the page expecting to do something with an ocean theme. But that didn't happen.
I had already chosen the psalm I wanted to paint around and knew I wanted a tree. I love how this turned out, how bits of the background color peek through the "leaves" and how it looks like there is light shining down from the upper left corner!
Linking this to Art Journal Every Day, Creative Every Day, and Paint Party Friday. Why don't you join in sometime?
Thanks ever so much for commenting and stopping by. If you ever have any questions about anything here just ask away :)

Fabulous creations, as always, Linda! I love the calendar pages; such a good idea to use the sun for the days. Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog - I appreciate your encouragement! (And, yes, I was the winner at MMMC last week - yippee!)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Linda. Love the journal page. The card and calendar have turned out very well, too. Valerie
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely art here, those calendar pages are full of summer sunshine, so bright and happy, great work!
ReplyDeleteWonderful projects Linda. The Father's Day card is awesome. Love the shade of brown you have used. Your face has come out so well. I had a hard time blending the different colors on her.
ReplyDeleteHave great weekend
Susan
I so much enjoyed the variety shown in this post, Linda. Your last piece with the Psalm is so beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteHello Linda
ReplyDeleteI always love coming to visit and seeing the beautiful creations you make. You have such a great eye for color. Your June journal page left me smiling - orange and yellow are not my strong suits and you make it all come together PERFECTLY! I also love your little face and girl spread! Have a wonderful weekend!
I am all about June sunshine too. That journal spread you did really speaks to me. If we could get 30 days of sunshine it would be fantastic, but as long as there's more sun than rain. Great way to represent the idea on your journal.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda. Your journal pages are inspiring. Happy days here at your blog. :)

ReplyDeleteI love the glowing sunshine of your gloriously bright pages for June - I just wish we could get more than a few glimpses here in UK. I also like all your other pieces, and the last one with the pre-painted page for the background, and, as you say with the 'sky' showing through the tree.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous creations!! Fab work!
