Last post involving valentines since we'll be celebrating this Sunday. I have more cards to share as this is a fave holiday of mine:) Some have asked what I do with my cards and ornaments. Well, I give them away of course! I send them out to friends near and far-some as a little surprise. It brings me joy.
These are some of the cards and envies that went out. You can see my ornaments here.
At Freshly Made Sketches the sketch this week inspired me to make one last Valentine card:
And this is a journal page inspired by the love and appreciation for my friends:
Yes, the background is a gelli plate printed deli paper:) The faces were inspired by Jane Davenport's book.

One bit of indulgence before I go. On Sunday ( Valentine's Day) we will be celebrating our son's birthday! and you wonder why I love this holiday so:) I'm making his favorite dinner and cake.
So this is our handsome son when he was three. Now he will be 28 -where does the time go?
with love to you son, always!

Love the cards, Linda. your son is a cutie- probably still is a cutie. :)
ReplyDeleteLove all your cards Linda. You have some wonderful friends, or soul sisters, who will get one. I love the warm joy your journal piece brings too. And what a cutie your son was. I know, my daughter turned 24 and holy cow, she was just 3. Glad you get to have him by for dinner on his birthday. I dread the year my daughter isn't home to celebrate. Happy Valentine's day to you!
ReplyDeleteLove your page Linda. Those words are very true. I have a friend that I don't need to say anything, she always knows when something is amiss. Good to see you, thanks for stopping by my blog. Happy Birthday to your son and yes, where does the time go.
ReplyDeleteAww Todd. (Envies!! :) ) Time does fly...sigh. And I love your Vallies. xo
ReplyDeleteReal heart warming art!
ReplyDeletePretty cards, Linda, and I especially like the last one, nice way with the washi tape and clever interpretation of the sketch.
ReplyDeleteYour Soul-sisters art says it all, a gorgeous background and the girls looks so contented together.
Wonderful cards. Happy Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteSome beautiful cards. You son was a cutie to be sure. My daughter is now 27 so I know what you mean. Weren't they just born.

Oh the photo of your son is so adorable ♥♥♥ Love the art this week too. I didn't make any Valentines cards this year :( All I can do to keep up with the 29 Faces Challenge .
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, a great set of cards, and I love the journal page.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with us at TioT.
Avril xx
my favorite is the Soul sisters. Wish I had a sister like that.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I want to say how lovely the cards are. All are beautiful, as is the painting you created.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I want to wish your son a happy birthday and you a happy Valentine's Day.
Third, congrats on a top five win at Try it on Tuesday. It's an honor you can be proud of.
FINALLY, thank you for the package. I got home not long ago, threw a post together, and sat my friends in front of the TV, since they are not the artsy type. I haven't opened the package yet, because I didn't want to do it in front of my guests. I would rather wait till I have more time and can appreciate it, since I'm fairly sure whatEVER you sent they won't get anyway!
Thanks in advance, and I'm very grateful.
A wonderful journal page - great quote and lovely photo of your son.
ReplyDeletexxx Hazel.
Lovely page celebrating friendship! Those faces are beautifully drawn. What would life be without our friends? I love the photo of your son! My son is 25 now: I too can hardly comprehend where the time goes. xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards.
ReplyDeleteWe celebrated 'friendship' day, not Valentine's.
After party I hope you have a good week ahead!
Wonderful cards Linda! They look very sweet, and I love the extra one you made from the template. Your journal page about friends is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt is raining ice here today, so a good day to stay indoors...hopefully making something ; )
Hugs,
Terri
