Good day ( or evening depending on where you live)! I am still a bit busy assisting our great aunt as much as I can going back and forth to her home, visiting Momma cat (who is now with her original owner temporarily- the vet) and making hospital visits. Thankfully I can still get my own housework done and get a little art time in along with the Deepak and Oprah meditation series. And now I will also be preparing for a small Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday with just hubby , son and his gf.
This vintage tag is meant for Tag Tuesday (theme is music), and the Simon Monday Challenge (theme is tear it up). Products: white tag; music washi tape (Tim Holtz Ideaology); gesso; torn patterned paper; vintage collage sheet image and sentiment (ARTchix Studio); snowflake stickers (Mrs. Grossmans); dot sparkler stickers (Stampendous).
For T Stands For Tuesday with Bleubeard and Elizabeth and friends:
Not long ago Bill and I went antiquing not to buy- just for fun- in an area we've been to many times before. And we decided to have an early dinner at McCooles Red Lion Inn which we also enjoy:
Not sure if you can click on it to make it larger to read...
They served us some pumpkin hummus and pita bread while waiting for our order. I never had pumpkin hummus before and it was pretty good.
We both had the crab cakes-a favorite of ours there along with roasted cauliflower and rice.
And of course hubby had to have dessert with his coffee:)
that chocolate cake was so rich and decadent-and he ate all but one bite! Special pose from him to your hubby Chris ;)
Speaking of Chris- I made a journal page for Art Journal Journey with the theme of '101 Ways To Keep Warm' hosted by Chris this month:
Not sure if I want to add words or not so this is it for now. Cozy thoughts of reading by candlelight. My page was inspired by another 'Painting With Jane' you tube video. I used acrylic paints, brushes and a palette knife.
Detail of the candle:

I made one of my recent journal page paintings into cards:
and to those of you celebrating I wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving! Til next time...

I love that candle Linda. What a beautiful piece. Hope your great aunt is doing better soon so you can get some of your time back. I am having a small Thanksgiving too, just the hubby and me this year, but I am looking forward to this. No traveling, no time schedules. :) Hope you have a wonderful holiday and I do think your husband has a good idea eating all that cake. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

My keyboard is having a PMS hissy fit today, and refuses to work much of the time. I would LOVE to leave you a personal message like you are used to from me, but it took nearly 30 minutes to write my last "real" message. Fortunately, my mouse still works well, so I can copy and paste this generic message to you. So, I will just wish all my U. S. friends a very happy Thanksgiving and EVERYONE a very happy T Tuesday.

ReplyDeleteLove the candle painting! Happy TG a bit late.
ReplyDeleteYou sound busy! It's good that you can still find time to do art. That candle is amazing. the whole piece has such a soft warm glow, and it makes me think of sitting in a comfortable chair with a good book in a small room in an old castle ... weird eh!? Hope you had a happy thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteYour tag is lovely, but I just love that candle. Great work.
ReplyDeleteI liked your tag but then I scrolled down and found your candle. Absolutely love it :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic texture on your candle!
ReplyDeleteyour blue pumpkin is awesome. I had carrot hummus the other day and it was awesome so then I thought... hmmmm I bet making hummus using other stuff would be awesome. I made mushy peas and added it to garlic hummus and it was so delish. The sweetness of the peas and the garlic hummus was really awesome. Visiting from PPF. Oh, I'm having a HUGE Christmas Giveaway on my site, the giveaway closes midnight Sunday night pacific time. Here's the link... http://justaddwatersilly.com/2017/11/21/christmas-giveaway/

I've no idea how you manage to make all this gorgeous art as well as deal with all your Real Life activities. I really love the tag, the shape, the old-fashioned look and the muted choice of colours. It would make a great greetings card too. I also love the "simple" design of the candle which I know would not be at all simple to paint. I rather like it without words, just giving the idea of sitting and reading quietly by candlelight.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tag and lovely candle! Your art has wonderful ambiance.
ReplyDeleteGreat art and very happy hubby = perfect reason to post! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are such a wonderful blogger Linda! Always so much interesting items to share! Love your tag naturally and your Candle art painting is fantastic! You know I always make humous but have never heard of pumpkin humous! Is it a combination of chickpeas and pumpkin?
ReplyDeletexox Suzy
Beautiful candle painting Linda and love the Thanksgiving card too!! Pumpkin humus sounds different...I wonder if they still use chick peas as the base. Oh I see Suziqu asked the same thing. All the best to your Aunt I hope she's feeling better soon!! So sweet of you to help out!!
