How is everyone? We turned our clocks this past weekend for Daylight Savings Time which of course means longer days of sunlight-yay! The temperature is slowly creeping up too so my color/theme choices in my art projects are definitely reflecting Spring!
This is abstract #3 of a series I am creating. I did just finish a 4th but I'll post it another time.
I have more Palm Beach photos to share and then I'll get back to more art.
More window views from our friends' condo:
We visited the area across the way with all the tall buildings. It's Singer Island. Very busy area with condo buildings and hotels galore:
It looks SO beautiful from the condo window when we look across all the twinking lights on these buildings at night! Grateful to view it from our quiet space:)
Our very favorite place to wander was the marinas and we walked it every day- sometimes more than once:
Bill was in love with the palm trees and took MANY pics of them but I'll just share this one:
and we also enjoyed some special Florida animal life while on our walks:
blue heron
these geckos were everywhere but quite harmless:)
This seabird is called an Anhinga. We identified her (it is a female) after watching quite awhile and taking notes about her behaviors. She stood airing her feathers a long time after coming up from under the water because if she didn't completely dry the feathers she'd just flop into the water again. So cool to watch her!
We also visited MacArthur State Park which had a lovely walkway across the water to the beach and a museum learning center and shop along with kayak rentals. We learned about various sea life including the turtles :
This loggerhead sea turtle was going to be released into the sea the following week which made me happy. One creature we did NOT see anywhere:
and I am quite OK with that!
On our final day before going for dinner we had cocktail hour:
and this was the wonderful champagne we toasted with:
Cheers to the T Stands For Tuesday gang and everyone!
I made this tag for the Simon Monday Challenge (feminine/girly), and Try It On Tuesday (inspired by a word):
I started with a tag that had been swiped onto a craft mat with a variety of water spritzed Distress inks. Other products: background stamped with DOX- Worn Lipstick, Broken China and Cracked Pistachio; black Archival ink. Stamps used were - Ellen Hutson Bokeh Dots set; Dylusions Basic Backgrounds set; Dina Wakley word stamp from a set; Wow! Wall art stamp set; and that darling girl is from Inky Antics Long Hair Flair set! Polka dot washi tape (her dress)-Recollections; pink paint marker; Peerless watercolors.
A journal page in my Dina Wakley Media Journal:
Joining Paint Party Friday, and Art Journal Journey (theme is Hello Springtime") hosted this month by Jo.
Thanks for popping in! I have a secret but don't tell anyone-shhh... on March 15th I am turning the big 6 0hhhh! No special plans but on Saturday the 16th hubby and I will spend the day downtown enjoying all the Irish festivities celebrating St. Patrick's Day. Of course I'll have a Guinness for you;)
Wishing you all a super week and weekend ahead!

The Florida pictures are so wonderful to look at. Mmmm. warm weather. Looks like a very beautiful area. I loved the pic with the palm trees and hibiscus. I think it's a hibiscus. If not, that flower is now. =^,.^= Fabulous art with Spring colors. And enjoy your 6-OH St. Patrick's Day celebration!

ReplyDeleteLove your journal page - I've been playing with similar - and the abstract piece you did is fabulous - absolutely gorgeous. Palm Beach looks wonderful. I went to Florida a long time ago and enjoyed it there - I hope the weather soothed you :-) I found the humidity actually MADE me relax and slow down, which was really good.
ReplyDeleteGreat tag for Tag Tuesday and Try it on Tuesday - great word, too. I love those girls and the wall art stamps are fab. Love that graffiti. Great post.
Thank you so much for joining us at Try it on Tuesday.

I love the color and arrangement in your abstract piece. I'm really getting a strong urge to look into Florida condos for retirement. Your photos are quite motivational! Happy T Tuesday
ReplyDeleteMexico doesn't go on DST until April 7, Linda. It always feels odd to me to be out of sync like this.
ReplyDeleteI love your minimalist pages. Try as I might, I haven't come anywhere close yet.
Beautiful water views. There's something very calming about looking out over the ocean. Good for you to identify that unusual bird.
Wonderful tag and journal art. Have a terrific birthday. At some age, I realized that it's not the number that matters; it what you do with it ;-)
Happy T-day! Eileen xx
Awesome photos from your trip away, the views look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYour abstract art and projects look fantastic and I am thrilled that you linked the great tag with us over at Try it on Tuesdays.
Happy Birthday wishes for your special day

I love your Spring art and your tag is a delight too! Thanks for joining us at Try It On Tuesday! Love the photos, what a great view and loved seeing the wildlife! Hoping Spring comes soon! Happy T day, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteWow, lots of art in this post. I like them all, especially the abstract at the beginning.
ReplyDeleteYour Florida stay looks really lovely. I love turtles so I am also very happy that they are being released (I assume regularly). I don't mind geckos either. We have loads of those but I wouldn't like to meet a crocodile.
Yes, palm trees are associated with sunny climes, but they are really not that pretty. But I love the date palms when they have all those orange fronds hanging down.
Happy (belated) T-Day,
Lisca
Loving your abstract Linda - the colours are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteReading more about your holiday, it sounded so relaxing, the enjoyable and peaceful walks beside the water plus seeing all the wildlife!
Palm trees always add that extra special holiday feel!
A cute tag and that gorgeous journal page are a lovely way to end your post. Cheers and keep enjoying your holiday memories :D) xx
Happy PPF :D) xx

ReplyDeleteHappy PPF xx
Wonderful artwork as always. I really enjoy seeing your colourful designs. Those photographs are super. I especially like the Anhinga. Not too sure about the weather, though. We're due more snow this weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour abstract is gorgeous! I really like your use of the musical notes. Lots of wonderful creations today. We refer to the anhingas as the chorus ladies. They sort of wobble their necks as they sit on the edge of our back lake. They look like a choir. Happy PPF
ReplyDeleteMy favourite this week is the abstract.
