The Last Of The Holidays Are Upon Us
First of all, I know I missed visiting some of you this past weekend and I do apologize. My hubby has kindly given me his upper respiratory infection so besides losing my voice and coughing I have been unusually tired. These viruses do seem to come with this time of year don't they...
At the moment my focus is on Thanksgiving which we will celebrate next Thursday. This is a time I do send out some cards and share my gratitude for having these people in my life. And speaking of... I have this journal page to share that I made for the IG or FB 'Year Of Gratitude Challenge' hosted by Ranger Ink and Dina Wakley. The prompt this month is "I am grateful for friendship":
My friends are my family and I truly don't know what I'd do without them. And whether they are close friends of many years, newer friends, or even long distance friends I've not met in person they hold a special place in my heart.
In keeping with the thankful mode I made this card meant for the Simon Wednesday Challenge (Thanks/Thanksgiving):
Products: white cardstock; patterned paper (Paper Studio); Versafine Onyx Black ink; sentiment (Hero Arts); dies- Clustered Leaves, Wonky Rectangles (Simon Says Stamp).
Grab a drink and join us for T Stands For Tuesday won't you? Share something drink related and join the link party, or just take a bit of time to visit everyone. It's such a lovely gathering of diverse posts each week! Thank you Bleubeard and Elizabeth for hosting. My ticket for linking this week:
One of the breakfasts I had at our favorite breakfast place Oceanview Restaurant during our recent trip to Cape May. Some of you may recognize this veggie wrap which I get every time we're in town. SO good! I only ever can eat half the wrap and a few of the potatoes at one sitting. I love too that you get unlimited coffee refills- I mean if I want to stay long enough to drink a whole pot worth I can- for the price of one cup of coffee - $2! :)
The challenge at Art Journal Journey this month is "fruits and veggies". This page was done in my Dylusions Creative Dyary Journal:
The background is a napkin. Vintage label from my stash.
And finally I have a card (it's just slightly bigger than an ATC) which I will link to Try It on Tuesday(cold, cold, cold!); Moo Mania and More (peace and tranquility); and the Simon Monday Challenge (recycle):
I began by recycling corrugated cardboard from a box, and the packing tape Ranger uses to seal and ship their boxed products. I love this tape!
Dimensional trees, star rhinestone (ACMoore); modeling paste; Vintage Photo Distress ink; Tim Holtz Small Talk Occasions stickers; Falling Snow stencil (Simon Says Stamp).
That's all for this week. Linking to Paint Party Friday with this post too!

Hi Linda, so sorry you have been ill-these do come with the holidays it seems.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing your art-I just threw away a big box that would have been perfect to use-I love how you used it. I enjoy making cards too-this year everything was too crazy so I bought them this year. Happy T hope you get well soon-hugs Kathy
Oh, no; sorry your hubby passed his sickness to you. You still have posted a lovely post for TSFT. All your projects are lovely, especially the white card for the Simon Challenge. I really like it, so crisp and beautiful. Happy T Day.
ReplyDeleteLinda I hope you are feeling better, nothing worse than feeling under the weather.
ReplyDeleteCard making is what I do the most of but this year is the first time I’ve made a Thanksgiving card for our GSs! Your food looks delicious but I always find those wraps far too big.
Happy T Day

I hope you and your husband feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteYes, thank you, my Hubby did that, too. It´s the season!
ReplyDeleteA great tradition you have with Thanksgiving - I wish you a happy, yummy one.
The cards are wonderful, too. What would we do without friends and family.
I see so many lonely people it breaks my heart.
Oh :-) Another one only half person, food wise. Same here.
Happy T-Day and... to health soon!
Oh my gosh, what an array of amazing art. You are such a talented and heartful woman Linda!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting all the challenges so well.We have exactly the same virus her at my home. First I had it for nearly 10 days and now hubby has it.
ReplyDeleteHappy T-Day dear Linda!!!
Hugs, Susi
Beautiful art, love the gratitude journal page especially. Sorry you were feeling bad, and hope you are soon fit again. Have a great week, happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI always get inspired when I read your blog posts, Linda. You have the BEST mixed media around. Your Friends journal page is wonderful. I may have to borrow that design (grin). It's fabulous.
ReplyDeleteYour autumn Thanks card is amazing. You use your die cutter to the fullest and it shows.
Your recycled card really made me smile. You KNOW how much I love recycling, so this one was absolutely perfect.
Of course, I adored the grapes you shared because that was one fruit I hadn't even thought of for Rike's theme at Art Journal Journey. It's wonderful.
Finally, yes, I knew where you were and that wrap looks so delicious. So do the potatoes. Of course, knowing me, I'd drink an entire pot of coffee, but I'm glad you saved some to share with us for T this Tuesday.
These are all beautiful works !! Great every single one
ReplyDeleteI hope you get well soon
the food is delicious!
Greetings Elke
Beautiful artwork. The three circle faces going around the larger circle made me think of phases of the moon, because Full Moons and Blue Moons are on my mind right now. I especially like your winter trees art piece. Your food looks delicious. Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteBefore I forget, I want to say thanks for joining us at Try It On Tuesday. Your wintery scene is peaceful and well done. I love the look of cardboard, don't you? And you are making me hungry this morning. Another dreary day here in NH and it is hard to get moving. (smile) And you are right about friends for sure. Love the art, and hope the cold is much improved and gone. Happy T day my friend. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteSo much beautiful art to see, Linda - I love your recycled card. Corrugated card is one of my favourite surfaces, but I haven't used it for a while...you've inspired me...thank you :-) Your brekkie looks good. LOVE your thankful for friendship page - and the wine label - but I think the leafy card is my favourite today. I adore leaves and this captures all the gorgeous colours of Autumn.
ReplyDeleteHope you soon feel much, much better!
Thank you for joining Try it on Tuesday.

I do sympathise - I'm just coming out of a horrid bout with the winter bugs. Hope yours passes quickly.
ReplyDeleteI love so many things in this post - that first page with the wonderful scribbly circles and colour contrasts, the fabulous corrugated card with all the texture and that beautiful spray of autumnal leaves.
