T Stands For Tags!

Somehow tags have become a focus for me lately so today's post is mostly tag art. I'm going to start with this tag meant for the Simon Says Monday Challenge theme of "All Loved Up":

It's been difficult getting good photos as the sun has not been around (but for a fleeting moment or two) for days now.

Products: Tim Holtz Botanical tissue paper; gesso; pink acrylic paints; Golden Shading Grey High Flow paint; Tim Holtz Small Talk Occasions Stickers; foam heart sticker (AC Moore-sadly closing their doors); threads, ribbons, lace, vintage buttons from my stash.

For Tag Tuesday with the theme of Black,White, Red:

This is actually a tag card so I can write a note inside:)

For T Stands For Tuesday I have this yummy small plate to share from - again- our last visit to Cape May. Speaking of, we made our first reservations to go back in the Spring - one of several trips we hope to make again this year:):)

Another visit to Hemingways where we stopped for happy hour appetizers and a drink. Hummus with veggies and pita are a fave of mine, along with a nice glass of J Lohr Cabernet Sauvignon. Cheers!

 Back to tags.

I used the above supplies  along with some Dylusions Spray Inks on manila tags for a technique I was introduced to thru IG:

The technique is to coat your surface of choice with black acrylic paint ( I also tried a deep brown- on the brick stencil one). Let dry. Spritz with Dylusions spray inks. Let dry. Dab white acrylic paint thru a stencil over top. That's it! As the white paint dries the Dylusions inks will somewhat seep through the white bringing back some color. Pretty cool! You do need to use water soluble sprays- NOT permanent color sprays.

And lastly I will share this journal page for Art Journal Journey (theme is "something new") and Try It On Tuesday (white space or colourful grunge):

New are the two bottles of pink acrylic paint in Dragon Fruit (Americana), and Neon Pink (Craft Smart). This is in my Dina Wakley Media Journal. I also used her collage tissue words, Collage Collective image, stencil and Lapis and Penny paints.

Joining Paint Party Friday also. Looking forward to visiting and seeing what you've been up to. Have a super week!

  1. Your tags are great and thanks for sharing that technique with the black paint. I was looking at your photo as those tags caught my eye before I continued to read and I was trying to figure out how that it worked and I would have never guessed the white paint. Thanks so much for for colorful grunge for our latest challenge at try It On Tuesday also. It is really beautiful. ANd happy T day too. You must be excited about the first of your planned trips to the shore. Hugs-Erika

  3. WOW, lots of tags this week. They are all beautiful. I was delighted to read the technique you used until I got to the part where you have to use Dylusions. I've never even SEEN those, so I somehow doubt I could find a good substitute, although I have some sprays that bleed all over the place when they get near water. Regardless, this is a wonderful technique.

I'm loving your beautiful entry at Art Journal Journey. It's perfect for Jo's theme with those new pink sprays. Thanks for sharing this with us.

The hummus looks so good and the veggies look lovely and fresh. Pita chips are a favorite of mine, too. Looks like they went well with your wine, too. Thanks for sharing your incredible tags, your art journal entry, and your wine and humus with us for T this almost Tuesday.

  19. I love your tags Linda, I don’t very often make them!, I have the leaf stencil and have only used it once but I will try the technique you used as it looks very effective with the dark surrounding the leaves.
Thanks for your visit, I’m in the hotel, it’s raining so I’m out visiting the T gang

  24. The black paint technique has it's own unique style when using the dylusions sprays don't you think. Fabulous tags. I'm loving your sweet red, black and white tag with those little added extras of buttons and lace, it's not a good time of year here in the UK for taking photographs either as when the sun is out it casts a bright white wintery glare on everything but I think you did a grand job capturing your tag. Beautiful, I'm keeping everything crossed I get chance this weekend to play along if our little puppy gives me an hour or two spare he hee!!
Happy PPF Linda sending Hugs your way Tracey xx
