It's All About The Art

This week I just have some art to post. We had a lovely Easter weekend starting with a brunch hosted by my daughter-in-love's grandmother, and then later on Easter Sunday I hosted dinner with just my Mom, son and DIL Kyra, and hubby of course:) I didn't even think about taking any photos for T Stands For Tuesday and so instead I'll share this postcard as my ticket in:

It began with a deli paper Gelli Plate print glued to the cardstock. I then did some over stamping to add to the printed layers. A strip of fabric washi tape was added to the bottom as well as a strip of torn tissue. The Darkroom Door coffee mugs were stamped on heavy cardstock using Versafine Sepia ink, fussy cut and then had strips of Dina Wakley washi tape added before adhering to the card with foam tape. It was finished with a sentiment from Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers outlined and smudged with a brown charcoal pencil, and Vintage Photo Distress ink sponged along the postcard edges. I will also join the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge with the theme of "Layer It". And actually, my next postcard would work for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme as well😉

This one meant for Try It On Tuesday with the theme "Hello Spring":

The grungy background was made using a cream, light blue paints. I used the small circles Darkroom Door stencil and a baby wipe to remove some paint. Darkroom Door Numbers Medley stamp set and Vintage Photo Distress ink was used to stamp over the background. I spattered over that with some white ink. The leaf is also a Darkroom Door stencil. Dina Wakley Gloss sprays were spritzed through the stencil then fussy cut. A piece of recycled corrugated cardboard was glued to the card before adding the leaf, butterfly stickers and Tim Holtz Clippings sticker. The edges of the postcard were sponged with Vintage Photo Distress ink. What doesn't say Spring like butterflies and colorful leaves?

And a journal page for Art Journal Journey  with the new them this month of "Inspired By". Our T Stands For Tuesday friend Eileen had chosen the theme and was excited to be hosting this month but alas it was not meant to be as she recently passed away after recovering from open heart surgery.  So both Chris and Erika are cohosting and keeping Eileen's theme in her honor.

My inspiration? Dina Wakley products of course 😁 And with the exception of the ribbon all products including this journal are Ranger/Dina Wakley!

I'll also join Paint Party Friday this week again. Be well, and have a happy, creative week ahead!

  2. You have some lovely art today Linda. I like those cups for T. The insulator on the cup doesn't look stamped. It came out great. And I love your spring piece and that variegated fern. And you created a beautiful piece for AJJ also. It is all about the process, isn't it? Thanks for joining us for both of those challenges. Have a happy T day also. Hugs-Erika

  7. What a lot of incredible art you created this week, Linda. Such lovely postcards. I was intrigued by the background of the Spring inspired entry. And the piece you created for Art Journal Journey is really amazing. You have a definite love for Dina Wakley. Thanks for sharing this with us using Eileen's theme at Art Journal Journey.

But those travel mugs are simply divine. I love how you used gelli prints, as well as stamping. You put a lot of thought into this incredible entry for T this Tuesday. So glad you had a great Easter, too, dear Linda.

  21. Wonderful artwork, as always. So glad you had a nice Easter. It's always nice to see family and friends. It snowed here, which wasn't so good but we a decent enough time. BTW, I had to change browser to comment on your blog recently. I'm using Edge because no matter what I tried Firefox wasn't having it. Stay Safe.
