Summer Relaxation

Wow, another month seems to be going by so quickly! And so before this August ends I'm going to enjoy seeing some friends I haven't seen in over a year and a half (thanks to the pandemic), relax, and enjoy each others company once again. I'll be around this week but then will take a blog break for a little while.

Here's a quick page I had done a little while ago but forgot to post:

A very easy way to get some quick color over a page is to use a large ( I used a 1 3/4") chip brush. Wet the brush then dip into acrylic paint and simply make two large swipes across the page. This will give you a nice base on which to build AND allow you to have white space as well. Here I used Dina Wakley Night paint for the brush strokes.  The stencil, leaf stamp, collage paper words, washi tape heart,  and Collage Collective faces are all Dina Wakley 😁

 For T Stands For Tuesday:

We have had some of the steamiest heat of the summer this past week with feel like temps in the triple digits so I was really craving something carbonated - Perrier to be exact! I haven't had it in quite a long time and wanted some so bad I went to the store and picked up a pack of these small bottles as a special treat. I have always loved this and unflavored seltzer water. (I've always been told I crave the weirdest things- like mushrooms, and beets, and cauliflower, though once in a while I will crave something normal to most - like pizza. But I have never craved anything sweet😜).
How about you - what kind of cravings do you have?  I couldn't wait for a bottle of Perrier to get cold enough to finally enjoy and quench my thirst- with a lemon wedge, and a bowl of cherries! Cheers!

This is a page I did in the Dina Wakley Kraft Journal inspired by a free video tutorial on FB on her page called "The Art of Dina Wakley". It was about it being similar to a cartoon block (with a mixed media twist) using the same image 4 ways.  I enjoyed this one so much I already have a few ideas written for another page or two! Lots of DW supplies here- paints, stamp, Gloss sprays, Scribble sticks, Just Words Collage Tissue, stencil, Collage Collective paper bits.

I will join Art Journal Journey (theme is Type), and Paint Party Friday. Will be around to visit this week, and then my break begins😁. Be safe, and be well everyone!

  2. I'm not a fizzy water person, but I do understand having cravings for certain things. Mine lately was ice cream, but that has seemed to pass. I usually crave sweeter things, or fruit. Once it was green peppers. It is interesting how everyone has their own thing. But I would take the cherries. And that's a great page for AJJ also. I hope you have a wonderful T day and a great visit with your friends. I hope we hear blips about your visit when you rejoin us for T. hugs-Erika

  3. Linda, refreshing drink and fruit and LOTs of fun art. Love the colors, the different angles, and the fun words. I crave cheesecake mostly - especially on bad or stressful days. If I had some right now, I would eat two pieces probably - good thing I don't have any! Happy T-day!

  4. Is that a new banner again or is my brain a lille slow? Either way, I love it!
Don´t laugh... Ingo had such a swim suit and even braved up with that in public - the looks he got, LOL!!!

    Good quote. And lovely page.

Guess what sits in the kitchen, waiting for boiling water? (Cauliflower).
I also still have W´s Easter-chocolate bunny here. People never believe I really do not like sweets.

Oh, passion. In this "summer" I have a lack of that, sitting here in a jumper. We only had a couple of warm days. Today again cold and cloudy.
But, what the heck - Happy T-Day :-)

  5. Your journal pages are always a joy to see, love the colours, too. And thanks for linking o AJJ, much appreciated. I get cravings for things like ripe cheese and fresh bread, and sometimes dark chocolate! Happy T Day, take care, hugs, Valerie

  6. I haven't had Perrier in decades. Perrier and cherries sound perfect to cool the Summer heat. My cravings tend to revolve around chocolate. Happy T Day!

  8. Lovely journal page, plus great quote (you always have such good quotes).
I see you have a new header. Very nice indeed.
Perrier water is lovely. It is naturally carbonated, i.e. it comes out of the ground already carbonated. There aren't many springs like that, hence the high price for Perrier water. In Italy there is one called Ferrarelle, which I used to drink when I lived there.
    The cherries look yummy.
    Happy T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  9. I've never had fizzy water, but regular water and some fruit would suit me nicely right now :) I don't tend to have cravings, but I guess I'd tend towards salty foods. Happy T Tuesday!

  11. In Germany sparkling water was our go-to drink throughout the day. I can understand that craving. I mostly crave bread and (unfortunately) sometimes potato chips. If I crave sweet things it's usually chocolate.
I love the art you create - I have some of Dina Wakley's stamps, mostly her birds. I do need to create more! Happy T-day!

  12. I've been trying all day to leave comments. Your swirls reminded me of those created by Roxanne Padgett. This page turned out great. And of course, your Dina page is awesome. She has great stamps, although they are a bit out of my yearly allowance. This latest entry is wonderful and absolutely perfect for Neet's theme at Art Journal Journey.

I like Perrier, but I actually prefer Pellegrino. It sure looks good next to the cherries, though. I am both a sweet and a salty junkie. I love both equally. Thanks for sharing your lovely art, your cherries, and your Perrier with us for T this Tuesday, dear Linda. Now my fingers are crossed this will publish.

  13. I think I'll have 'Be A Discoverer' on my wall...if I could only find a space on it, to discover! (or recover) I'm often finding things I thought were lost, or I never knew I had. And of course, 'Dreams don't work unless you do' so true. I've been dreaming for ages now that some magic fairy would come along and reorganise my craft room...not gonna to happen! Happy Late T day
