Hi Peeps! As this will be my last post for this year I'm going to make it short and festive🎄 In my next post in the New Year I will share some of the lovely handmade cards I received over the holidays.
Getting right to T Stands For Tuesday:
Happy to share these wonderful German spice cookies. A small tin of these were given to the employees in the shop where my hubby works. I'd really prefer NOT to have the sweet glaze on them (although the ones covered in dark chocolate are just fine 😉). But there is a nice balance to the sweetness with the spice and orange in the cookies. Yes, there is something in my mug but barely a few more sips of coffee. I should have gotten my refill before taking the photo 😁
Here is the bottom label of the tin:
Once again on Instagram Leaca Young is hosting another Creative Six Day Challenge and has free video inspirations with a different guest artist for each prompt. You don't however need to be on IG. If you click on her link there should be a tab somewhere on her site that you can click on to find and sign up for her free challenges and videos. I watch them on my desktop, then post my projects on Instagram. I have chosen to do all my projects in the Dina Wakley Kraft Journal.
These are the prompts:
Here is my page for day 1 "Song":
The wreath is the Wonderful Leaf Stencil by Altenew. I used one green ink to stencil it on the page. I shifted the stencil a bit and stenciled again using a second color ink. I shifted the stencil one more time adding yet another color ink. I made my Christmas cards using this stencil this year too. Unfortunately I did not get cards out to Europe this year as I ran out of the required postage stamps after sending to my French family. (I'm going to replenish my overseas postage stamp supply after the holidays are over so I have them on hand). Music paper was glued to card stock. I drew and fussy cut the trees, inked the edges with Distress Vintage Photo ink.
Day 2 "Gifts":
For this page I painted a variety of Dina Wakley paints on the page then stenciled over it using her Lattice stencil and Artists Loft Parchment paint. The girl is an image I painted and collaged on another journal page. I rendered it B & W in Photoshop, printed and fussy cut her out to use on this page.
Day 3 "Grow":
I loved the tutorial for making a cut pop up tree so I made one for my page:
I used a two sided patterned cardstock for this using one side for the background and the other side for the pop up tree. Here are a few different angles so you get a better idea:
you use the gold thread to pop up the tree, and underneath it I added a gold heart sticker:
I'll share the last 3 days pages in my next post once this challenge is over. Joining in at Paint Party Friday later this week.
Thank you all, for all the kind comments and visits throughout this year. They are so appreciated🙏. Wishing you all a blessed holiday season however and whatever you celebrate, may the New Year 2022 bring our world to a better place, may you all be healthy and keep well, and may peace and love fill your hearts. XO, Linda

I agree with you about the sugar glaze on the Lebkuchen. I don't like it either (neer have), but I love the chocolate covered ones. The moment they hit Trader Joe's I buy 10 to 20 packages. They don't keep long in our household...
ReplyDeleteI wish you a peaceful Christmas and all the best for 2022.
Hi Linda, the cookies look like a nice treat. I really love your challenge pages. Merry Christmas and Happy T

Love. love, all your pages and the pop-up tree! My favorite is the Joy to The World piece. The German spice cookie looks scrumptious. Have a Merry Christmas and happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful array of beautiful art you created. I love the trees. I'm guessing they are die cuts and beautiful. I appreciated you sharing how you made the wreath that graced my Christmas card from you. Very cleverly created.
ReplyDeleteThat pop up tree is amazing. I was most impressed and loved that the paper was double sided, something I try to shy away from as a rule.
I LOVE gingerbread cookies. Ginger spice sounds nice. And of course, I loved seeing the inside of your mug, which, if you had refilled it, I couldn't have seen the adorable penguin that graces the inside that matches the one on the outside of your mug. Thanks for sharing your great art and your cookies and coffee with us for T this Tuesday, dear Linda. And thank you again for the beautiful card.
Hmmm, I remember these cookies! I think they´re from Nürnberg. Ja. Read on (I type whilst reading...)
ReplyDeleteThank you. I subscribed at Leacea (no promise I can do anything).
Love your piece! Oh, one really wants to "break into song"!
And #2!!! YES! #3... respect!
And then... I give your wishes happily back!
Let´s remember how good our lives are.
I love Lebkuchen, there is always a huge variety here. Beautiful art as alwas. Have a great week, merry Christmas, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWe have often enjoyed Lebkuchen with a variety of glazes and sizes. It's a family favorite for our son-in-law, especially.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Christmas.

Those cookies look delicious! I enjoy them with or without the glaze. Happy T Tuesday, and I hope the Christmas season brings you joy.
ReplyDeleteThe Lebkuchen look delicious and as Divers and Sundry noted with or without the glaze. Your challenge prompts are just lovely. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteThose cookies sound yummy. I've made something those with the sweet covering. I guess with homemade ones you can control the sugar. They look good though. And I am loving your holiday journal. It's so cheery and festive. I hope you have wonderful holidays Linda and Santa brings you a little bit of new art supplies. Smile. See you in 2022. Happy T day and hug-Erika
ReplyDeleteOh what beautiful things you have made. I love the wreath. Thank you for explaining how to do it. And I am impressed with the pop-up tree. Very clever. Looking forward to seeing the remaining pages.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a great fan of Lebkuchen as I don't like ginger.
Greetings from sunny Spain,
