With Spring and its glorious greens and flowers finally blooming I can't help but create art using cheerful colors. For this first project I created a small canvas for the Simon Monday Challenge Blog theme "not so mellow yellow".
Love Be Flowing (3" x 3" canvas)
Products: 3 x 3 canvas; yellow tissue paper; Mustard Staz-On ink (Tsukineko); music rubber stamp (All Night Media); red mulberry paper; image, sentiment collage sheets (ARTchix Studio); metallic thread; vintage buttons. I'm also linking this to Creative Every Day.
Next up are two cards I'm linking to the Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog. Theme-"keep it clean and simple"-featuring Hero Arts products.
Products: pink card stock (the Paper Studio); rubber stamp (Hero Arts); Versafine Balck Onyx ink (Tsukineko); fabric tapes, paper flower (Recollections); rhinestone.
Products: pink card stock (the Paper Studio); rubber stamp (Hero Arts); Versafine Vintage Sepia ink (Tsukineko); paper flowers, fabric tapes (Recollections); tiny buttons (Gary Burlin and Co.)
As you can see I am thoroughly enjoying using the new washi tapes I talked about the last few posts:)
Just for fun I played around with origami and made this cute little owl:
And for T Stands For Tuesday with Bleubeard and Elizabeth and friends:
I took my pot of Tulsi tea and cup up to my art table to enjoy while doing more drawing lessons in my journal. It was completely safe to have my cup there as I took the brush rinsing jar away and wasn't working with anything other than pencil and pen:).
This is a journal page I had done about the tea:
I had done this a few yrs ago (before blog). The tag in pocket explains about the tulsi (holy basil) leaves and properties.
And I want to thank Dawn-whom I believe I first "met" through Elizabeth's blog for sending me this sweet surprise for Easter:
How could this adorable ATC not keep you smiling? Thank you Dawn!!
I may be away from the computer most of the day (and if I am you'll soon know why:) but will eventually be around to visit. And thank YOU for stopping by. Have a great Tuesday!

YES! What a cute ATC. AND I love all your brightly colored projects too - I agree that the seasons really can influence our art. Yours is perfectly pretty!
ReplyDeleteAND thank you for your sweet comments about the art for my friend who lost her father. I wanted to tell you that I am an only - and I have an only too. I agree with you about the fear for them when we are gone, but I also think HOW lucky we all are to get to spend so much focused time together. Just wanted to let you know that I totally get and agree with what you were saying ;) xoxo
Your CAS design for our challenge is a great one, Linda! Thanks for sharing them with us at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge!
ReplyDeleteHello Linda!! Happy T day a little early, YAY!! I just linked up too, so glad I got to tonight as tomorrow will be busy. So nice to see my ATC I made you here, they are so cute, love the happy colors I made. Glad you like it too, I know I did!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful art here as always, love seeing what your up too. Those cards are simple but so pretty and just right for any occasion I think. Great way to use up your washi tape too.
Curious as to what you are up to on Tuesday, hope you share soon.
Take care and enjoy your week.
p.s. lovely tea page too!
I thoroughly enjoyed this spring inspired post. Seems spring has really FINALLY taken off. And with a vengeance in some parts of the country, I might add. I hope you are safe in the days to come, since it seems to be headed your way.
ReplyDeleteI love the washi tape card, and of course, the little owl, too. You make lovely cards. Now I want to know what you are up to (grin).
Enjoyed reading about the tea. I've never heard of Tulsi before, so I'm off to learn more about it. Thanks for sharing it during T this week.
Lots of fun projects today, and the star of the show is, for me, the origami owl! Valerie
ReplyDeleteGreat cards and artwork. That origami looks awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day dear Linda ♥ Rose Tulsi Tea is a favorite of mine ... so delicate and fragrant...
ReplyDeleteYour creativity is always inspiring ...
Your colorful canvas, cards and precious origami owl are super!
I look forward to getting back in my art cave...
as wonderful as travel is I do find it throws me off a bit...
oxo
Another day not wasted - I need to go investigate the Tulsi tea now. Love the shot of your mug and teapot - how refined! and journal, really what we're all saying about a cuppa is what a great (however short) way it is to take a break!
ReplyDeletei had to smile at it being safe to have your mug on the table - I either dip a brush in it, tip it over or boringly just let it go cold! The cards and owl are lovely. Chris
ReplyDeletei've heard heard of "holy basil tea" before but will look into that. the wikipedia article is fascinating, and i'm spending part of this morning playing on bunny trails inspired by your post. thx! :)
ReplyDeleteLots of wonderfully colorful Spring creations ~ xoxo

LOVE the ATC, finger print card!
ReplyDeleteHad to laugh about taking the water pot away, while having tea. I have washed my paint brush in my coffee many times.
I really like your mulberry paper card. Mulberry paper seems to have lost it's magic in the stamping world, but I just love the stuff, and have it in many colors.
Have a great week.
You have been VERY busy on the creativity front. Love the tiny canvas!!!
ReplyDeletealways inspiring to visit you Linda! ...
ReplyDeleteYour amazing canvas, the cards and those precious origami owl !
All is wonderful!
My favourite is Love Be Flowing...gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLovely post Linda.... the owl and Easter card are so sweet.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the sound of Mindy's class :)

I love that canvas. It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI do like a good cuppa. I had to laugh at your comment about not worrying about your water. The number of times I have dipped my paint brush into my tea! Haa Haa!
Happy T Day!
xx
There's something about a long handled brush that just makes me nervous when I have 'other' paper stuff about :)
ReplyDeleteYour art and cards are lovely! But the Owl :) is very cute with his big eyes!
Happy Tea Day :)
Sweet tiny treasures! Your own and your gift, too. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy T-Day!
Hello Linda, all your artistic creations here are lovely. Your cheery heart canvas is fab! I love the colors and your joyful heart. Great simple cards and tea journal! Tea goes so well with art!
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful origami owl! I never seem to get those folds right! lol. You did a great job of it.
Wishing you a wonderful rest of your week,
Terri
Hi Linda, lovely card, the yellow and pop,of red look, lovely and the heart is gorgeous. Thanks so much for joining in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Tracy x
ReplyDeleteHello! I too am running late for T Day, so I'll wish you Happy Wednesday instead. :)
ReplyDeleteYou just have all kinds of artsy goodness in this post, and I like it all. But if I had to choose a favorite, I think it would be the canvas. Yellow and red make such a fun, vibrant color combo.
You asked about my apple tradition. Well, I am a big Paul Simon fan, and in his song "That Was Your Mother" (from the Graceland album), he sings the line "sweet as an apple on Christmas Day." For some reason, that line always appealed to me. Maybe because apples seem extra good and wholesome after a day of indulging in cookies, candy, and other Christmas goodies. In any case, on Christmas Day I always think of that song and eat an apple. Hope that makes sense! :)
Really love the lively colors in all your work, but I think the collage at the top is my fav...though the little birds are awfully cute!
