Welcome Tuesday! Almost didn't get a post in with new art as it has been a busy last couple of days. But here I am just in time for T Stands For Tuesday with Bleubeard and Elizabeth.
First I want to share an envelope I decorated using some of my geli printed deli paper. I have a nice stack of them after a day of play last week with my friend LuAnn. And I am determined to use them. So be on the look out for future projects and techniques :)
I actually just mailed this out early this AM to someone who mentioned wanting to find deli paper to play with. So I offered to send her some :). The flowers were punched circles of printed deli sheets. I glued them to the envie then doodled them with markers. Tip: when punching deli paper use a piece of printer paper behind it for stability. Otherwise the deli paper will not punch cleanly and will have some torn edges. Keep the plain punched circles for another project. Also, it's best to use a wet glue to adhere the deli paper.
Just before Mother's Day on Sunday I received this beautiful RAK card and ATC from Joy:
What a gorgeous card and ATC and a sweet surprise. Thank you so much Joy!! Joy knows how much I love Magenta (their stamps and style). She wasn't able to participate in the swap she made the ATCs for so I was the lucky recipient of one of them. And the card is beautiful-so finely detailed-and very typical of Joy's wonderful cards. Just take a look at some of them on her blog.
I'm still working hard on improving my lack of drawing/sketching skills so I grabbed this mug from my cabinet and gave it a try.
It's just OK, but I thought I'd share anyway. I used Peerless water colors and this is on watercolor paper.
I'm linking today to T Stands For Tuesday; and Paper, Paint, Pencils and Pens- hosted by the very talented sketch artist Lynn Cohen. the theme is animals-real or imagined. It changes bi-weekly.
" He respects the owl, because you can't help respecting anybody who can spell Tuesday, even if he doesn't spell it right." an excerpt from Winnie The Pooh.
Drawing skills are wonderful and lovely paper creations too ~ xoxo

WOW, that envelope was colorful. And I'm glad you are using your gelli-delis. I haven't tried deli paper with mine, yet, but I plan to soon.
ReplyDeleteYour friend made a beautiful card. That large butterfly really piqued my interest. It looks like it was cut from a map.
As someone who can't draw a straight (or even crooked) line, I'm in awe. You did a marvelous job with the owl mug. Of course, the Winnie the Pooh except was very clever, too.
Thanks for sharing your mug and art with us for T this week. And you were right on time, too (grin).
What a perfect T Tuesday Owl quote Linda!
ReplyDeleteand may I say your owl drawing is wonderful!
WHY are we our own worst critics!!!
Fun seeing you create with those fab monoprint papers...
that is my mission too...
Lovely map butterfly card from your talented friend along with that sweet ATC.
Happy T Day to you

What a fun envelope, even the mailman will be happy. Yes, you and I were on the same wave length this week with our flowers. Great minds think alike, hahaha.

Hi, thanks for visiting my blog today. I am excited to see how you used some of the gelli deli paper that you shared in last week's post. Your doodly flowers are so cute and creative, and that mail art is sure to bring a smile to someone's face. Happy at Day!
ReplyDeleteOops, T Day!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the recipient of your deli paper gift will enjoy your artful envelope! I actually like your owl painting better than the one on the cup!
ReplyDeletethat cup is definitely not "just ok"! i'd recognize the cup easily from your art. i love your flowers at the top of the post, too.
ReplyDeleteA lovely post and a great sketch. Lve what you are doing with the gelli prints

ReplyDeleteI also like your Gelli print creation.

ReplyDeleteYes we always seem to be our worst critic! I think your owl is very wonderful. It will look great as a card.
Hello Linda, sorry I'm a little late. WOW, that card and ATC are beautiful, love the colors. Your envelope is amazing and fun too, she will love seeing that in her mailbox. Linda, your cup drawing is very good, sweet little owl.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing with us and Happy T Day!
p.s. thank you for the nice comment on my layouts, it has been so much fun this week making them. Have a great day!
Linda, That is a beautiful card that you have received. That stamped butterfly is gorgeous. Your owl on the mug has come out well. He looks very cute.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week
Hugs
Susan
Linda, may I ask do you use the shiny or dull side of the deli paper for your prints? I have yet to try out after I bought deli papers coz not sure if there is any difference if you use either side. Thanks. Have a nice weekend. Carrie
ReplyDeleteHi Carrie- I had to go and look at all my printed papers to check:) I've only printed on the dull side and only because of the way I wanted the fold on the plate. I'll have to do a few on the shiny side just to see for myself now:)
