How is everyone? For those of us here in the northeast part of the US we are going to have a beautiful warm week and I am SO excited! This is also looking to be a crazy busy month as my calendar just keeps filling up-lots of good things involving music, food, drink and friends - I just hope I can keep up with it all! I'm definitely not used to such a social calendar:)
Speaking of food and music last week we went to an Italian restaurant for dinner and took along a friend. Stefano's has been around MANY years and they still do not disappoint. And of course I will now make you all hungry:
The menu is extensive and it all sounded so good but I finally decided on the Tortellini Rustica with their homemade tomato sauce.SOOO good!
Our friend Lynn chose the Lobster Ravioli which she loved. I would have chosen that too but I was concerned about the cream sauce being too heavy for my stomach.
Hubby had the Capellini Lucia which had jumbo lump crab in it. Two thumbs up!
And for my T Stands For Tuesday group you can see the choice of drinks with our dinners:) Our entrées also came with a salad and basket of warm fresh bread with a dipping sauce. Thank goodness I didn't have lunch that day! We stayed and came especially to see Lorenzo (whom I've mentioned many times before) play in a Caribbean band. It was so much fun hearing the steel drums and summer songs! You could almost feel the island breezes:):)
I did manage to squeeze in a journal page:
The background is gesso, Tim Holtz Ranger Distress inks, a foam stamp (fern leaf), and UM stamp (branch). The girl is an image I did with oil pastels in a small book. I resized and lightened her a bit before printing her out because I wanted her to appear a bit fragile in the woods. The words were added digitally.
I'll be linking this to Art Journal Journey (theme is "if you go down into the woods" this month); the Simon Monday Challenge (theme this week is "make your own backgrounds");
and Paint Party Friday celebrating its 5th birthday. Happy birthday and thank you EVA and Kristin!!!
Have a super week !

send some of that more gently temperatures and some sun in my direction please!
Just snowing again here.. I am not very happy with the weather just now.
Your lovely page makes my heart sing --- great that you used your beautiful painted face a second time and created such a wonderful page with it!
Thank you for linking to Art Journal Journey Linda !
Happy T-Day!
Happy PPF!
Take care!
Much love

Hello Linda, I am sitting here drinking my morning coffee and drooling over the Italian dishes you shared. yum yum yum! I actually found a recipe for Zuppa Toscana soup that I am going to try and make at home. I hope you enjoy your March...I am going to try my best to make it a better month then February/January were. Soon spring will be here, and I can hear the birds tweeting already!
ReplyDeleteLovely visit with you Linda.
ReplyDeleteYour dinner looks scrumptious to me. I also shy away from cream sauces because they seem heavy to me. I am also admiring the pretty dishes. I always enjoy different china.
Beautiful page and words.
Happy T Day oxo
Well you did make me hungry..lol Here i sit with my coffee and no breakfast yet.... :) I find i tend to stay away from tomato sauce dishes because i'm very picky about my sauce.. I have yet to go to an Italian restaurant and like their sauce... crazy i know.. Hubs definitely would have went for the crab meat.. :) LOVE your journal page...I think i have that fern stencil..:) I've been trying to find a large LARGE fern stencil to use on my wall in the guest room... so far no luck.. Happy happy Tday! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteYummy, the food looks very good and I become hungry.
ReplyDeleteYour Lady between the fern also looks good.
Greetings
Sabine
Your tortellini looked scrumptious, but I'm a sauce freak. That cream sauce didn't look very creamy on my monitor, but I would take any of those dishes. They all sound wonderful. I like all the drinks, including the water with lemon, my favorite drink when I go out.
ReplyDeleteI was delighted to read you have a friend who plays steel drums. My friend Joseph plays steel drums and has since college. He now owns every size Ellie Mannette, the inventor of the steel drum, makes. He has a fortune tied up in these signature series steel pans, and I can almost hear them now. Of course, my friend plays everything from classical, to rock, to mood, to traditional Caribbean music. He teaches steel drums in schools in the LA area.
Your lady in the ferns is a wonderful addition to the AJJ entries this month. Sadly, I haven't found time to participate yet.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful food, your music choices, your art, and all those drinks with us for T this Tuesday. I always enjoy visiting, because it seems I always find something I can relate to in your posts.
BTW, I told Sally about Il Volo and she was green with envy. She said they have never played in the midwest, but it was not unusual that they would play back east. She hopes to see them one of these days.
Oh, that food! Now I'm craving Italian. It looks delicious! Happy T Tuesday :)
ReplyDeleteYummy food, and great art, thanks for joining us again at AJJ.Happy T Day, sorry I'm late today, I was at Rehab/Boot camp all day! Hugs, Valerie

Yes, what great meals. I haven't had lunch...think I need a computer break--LOL!
ReplyDeleteLovely, sad girl in the ferns. Happy T-Day! :)
Yum yum, my juices are flowing! Italian food is the best. I lived in Italy for 15 years and those pasta dishes look absolutely scrumptious. Interesting though that outside Italy people eat pasta as a main dish (in the UK they do too) where in Italy pasta is the first course before the main course.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth's computer freezes every time she visits my blog and gets a message 'Mozilla Firefox not responding'.I have never heard of Mozilla Firefox and am not conscious of using it... Do you get the same problem?
