April (Snow) Showers

Hi! How is everyone?  Thought I'd start you off with a smile. The above is in my calendar journal. The colorful background is a recycled candy bar wrapper from Wegmans. Other images are from ARTchix Studio. I simply mounted the card to black cardstock before gluing it onto the page. Joining Try It On Tuesday for the new theme of " Recycle Something".

Ah, and although we are now in April the weather continues to say otherwise:

this is what we awakened to today (Monday morning)! Really??? And we only the day before put out some patio furniture and planters and had a lovely warm and sunny day. Good thing is that this should melt quickly. My poor trying to bloom forsythia bushes on the left :(

To cheer myself up I am using my gorgeous new poppy mug (y'all know how much I love red poppies:)

Sharing my cuppa with the gang over at T Stands For Tuesday hosted by Bleubeard and Elizabeth. Speaking of, one of the regular gals Chris has been playing with her gel plate and sharing her marvelous prints. It inspired me to have a play day and make more deli paper prints since my supply of those has diminished significantly. It's my very favorite paper to print on! These are what I made so far- and these are just the base layers. I'm sure to add more stamping and stencilling over top:)

I am not concerned about the creases because once the paper is glued onto a page the crease disappears.

This tag is meant for Tag Tuesday (Diamonds Are Forever), a A Vintage Journey's Tag Friday, and the Simon Wednesday Challenge (anything goes)::

There is a new theme for April over at Art Journal Journey! The new theme is "recycle and collage" hosted by Alison. Thanks to Eileen I will also link this page to Simply Neutrals :)  I have this journal page to share:

paper pieces from my stash along with hand printed tissue paper and washi tapes.

Joining the party over at Paint Party Friday too! I always look forward to visiting and seeing what everyone's doing. Have a super week!

  11. What can I say, Linda. You must spend day and night making art. Everything is so lovely. I was of course, especially impressed with this first entry you shared with us at Art Journal Journey, It's a beauty. I was most impressed with the composition.

Red poppies are a favorite of mine because I first saw them in CA one year. They don't seem to grow here, but they grow perfectly on your beautiful mug. Thanks for sharing this lovely mug and coffee, as well as your art and your deli gelli prints with us for T this Tuesday, dear Linda.

  22. Ugh, snow. We got a couple of inches of snow yesterday. I cried Uncle all day. I want to come over to your house to play. Your prints and pages are gorgeous. Your lovely poppy mug reminds me of a dress my mother made me. The halter dress was white with black dots and a poppy border. She made a jacket to go with it, too. I loved that dress. Thanks for the happy memory. Happy T Day

  23. Oh, there too - we had terrible 'snow day' on Monday - and yesterday all that was only a memory. Crazy!
We have still freezing nights but soon winter will be over - you can feel it...

  24. More snow? Oh, no, Linda. I wish I could send you some of our weather - mostly 80s already, but we've a couple of 90+ days. By May (our hottest month), I'll be bemoaning the heat - lol.

Love your poppy cup and your gelli prints. Chris' gelli prints have inspird me too - though I haven't cleared the decks so I could play yet.

Beautiful collage page. That would have worked for the neutrals challenge too, but I think that's done.

I'm late to T again. Sorry! I'll catch up one of these days ;-)

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

  41. Here in Oregon in the Mid-Willamette Valley we didn't see one flake of snow all winter. Well, maybe one and it was in the form of a star. LOL I do miss the snow--but just now it is warming and there are flowers and blossoms everywhere. However, we are expecting a big windstorm tomorrow...that should be fun. Your artwork is lovely, my dear. I enjoyed every piece.
