Still having lots of fun with my Halloween supplies but that's where it ends- no trick or treating, no costume parties for us. How about you?
This journal page is meant for Art Journal Journey ( I am hosting this month with the theme("Creature Comforts"); Try It On Tuesday (Trick or Treat); and the new Simon Monday Challenge ( Halloween/Spooky). Sharing later this week with Paint Party Friday and I will also share this on Instagram for a mood board challenge;):
I used several stencils and Marabu art sprays then just began gluing on collage sheet bits, washi tape, fabric ribbon, glittery stickers - all from my stash, and a Snarky Stickers sentiment (Tim Holtz). I am having way too much fun with those sentiments and will have more journal pages to show soon. I must say this sentiment is quite tame though compared to many of the others in the booklet-lol!
For my T Stands for Tuesday peeps (hosted by the wonderful Bleubeard and Elizabeth). I just saw that dear Elizabeth is not feeling well at all so get well wishes and healing vibes to you <3
I will share lunch and drinks at an old establishment that just celebrated 50 years!
Here's a peek at parts of the menu:
both hubby and I used to go to Stahley's Restaurant and Bar with friends after work- way back when we were single and didn't even know each other. And this is the first time we have gone there together and after many years later! Funny thing is that it all looks just the same:):) And the food is still great with very reasonable prices!
I had a crab cake sandwich (very good) along with water and a glass of chardonnay. Bill had a steak sandwich (which he declared was excellent), a beer, and we shared a basket of sweet potato fries. We'll definitely be going again in the near future!
Finally I put all my summer things away (sad face) and got out clothes, boots and such for the fall/winter. I also cut the last of the zinnias from the garden to enjoy, even creating a journal page around it (I'll share that another time):
There was no editing of color here- these zinnias are truly that vibrant and I loved having them to really brighten things up. So, wishing you all flowers and sunshine and bright days! Til next time...
" The garden of love is green without limit and yields many fruits other than sorrow or joy. Love is beyond either condition: without spring, without autumn, it is always fresh." Rumi
I am in the process of switching over my clothes and picking up all the lawn furniture. Oh, it is too sad. But I do adore your latest Halloween piece. Like you, I get my Halloween fun making art but nothing else. That is quite ok with me though. And how fun to go back to an old restaurant and find it the same. Do you think now that you enjoyed your visit you'll go back again? happy t day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I'm really loving your halloween art and the quote... it speaks to me and how I sometimes will feel at the most inappropriate times!!
ReplyDeleteI like the story of you and your husband finally going to that restaurant together. How nice that it's the same too.
Those Zinnias are something else - the colour! I've recently planted Zinnia seeds (for the first time) together with Cosmos in little planter boxes for my windowboxes. They're coming up beautifully. Cheers and enjoy your week :D)
Wonderful spooky art, I so love Halloween and autumn. I did the same with my clothes, it's officially cold, wet and windy here! Your food looks fantastic, crab-cake and sweet potato fries sound heavenly. Happy T Day, have a great week, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteYour page is absolutely amazing dear Linda- so much detail on it and enough white pace to rest - wonderful created ! I am not keen on Halloween, never was.
ReplyDeleteJust some art as it is wished at some challenges...but nothing else here for me with this event. We have a big Halloween Party in the village each year but we don't join it. My daughter and her boyfriend will join it eventually but the oldies doesn't! Isn't it lovely that this restaurant still exists with the same interieur! GREAT! Your zinnias are amazing!!!
I wish you a happy AJJ and T-Day dear Linda!
Enjoy the rest of the hosting time! Folk at AJJ loves your theme!
Hugs, Susi
Its an awesome Halloween page and I am thrilled you added this to the current Try it on Tuesdays theme. Like you my Halloween is limited to my crafting.
ReplyDeleteIt must have been good returning to the restaurant the food looked delicious.
I really like to see the menu's, you have an such a variety of tempting choices.
Happy T day wishes Linda
Yvonne xx
You created a great page for the themes you mention. I haven't done a single thing about Halloween yet, maybe there is time. It must have been fun to revisit the restaurant and remember old times.
ReplyDeleteWonderful Halloween mixed media creation! Fun too! ~ No Halloween here to speak of ~ just autumn decorations ~

Your Halloween page is spooky. Spiders make me sing the high notes. No trick or treat for us. We live in a rural area no sidewalks, streetlights. The fire department has a Halloween parade on the town common and then refreshments at the fire station so that's where all the kids go. I do have Halloween decorations up as it's my favorite holiday. So fun that it took you and your hubby so long to get back to the restaurant you used to frequent when single. Happy T Day
ReplyDeletethose zinnias are gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteno trick or treating for us, starting to become a thing here but a lot of the older kids use it as an excuse to make a mess :/
Very special and artsy card dear Linda. I like that design much.
ReplyDeleteDear Greetings
Sabine
Your page is gorgeous Linda! Xx
ReplyDeleteI love this Halloween page Linda - spooky enough for me!! What fun to go back to that restaurant - your food looks good! Sad times in the garden - we are being warned of temperature drops later this week! Belated Happy T day! Chrisx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful zinnia photo! Rich color!

Although I’m still not well, I apologize for taking so long to visit. I am just now making it out of bed. Every time I get up, I get the chills and cough.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see your name in the links, but I wanted to visit, anyway. I absolutely ADORE that journal page. I love the spider in her eye, which immediately caught MY eye. It's perfect for your theme at Art Journal Journey, too.
What a fun and wonderful place to eat. I agree that the prices are very reasonable, even for Kansas. That crab cake sandwich looks delicious and so do those fries. Much better tasting than potato fries. So glad this was not just a great time out, but a sort of reunion, too. Thanks for sharing your food, water, wine, and beer with us for T this week, dear Linda. Those zinnias are incredible, too.
No trick or treating for me eirher but I do enjoy seeing Halloween art! Lovely seasonal banner too.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous piece, Linda! I love the layering of tapes, that cool background and that lady.
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Tea Day,
Kate
Beautiful mixed media page! I like this special textured background! There all the fantastic details have a wonderful place!
ReplyDeleteNo trick or treating for me.
Those zinnias are very beautiful!
Wish you a happy weekend! Rike
Lovely page. We put up a few decorations and the treats are ready and some are being eaten up.
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF and have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThe Halloween page is original and creative.
ReplyDeleteWe are in the same level of autumn. We are ready to welcome winter here. Some places it was snowing.
I love the colour of the flower and delicious menu.
Happy PPF and weekend 🍬🍒
Linda I just love this Halloween piece. The spider makes it for me. I was talking to my friend yesterday that I would love to go to a Halloween party all dressed up.
ReplyDeleteGreat journal, well designed!
ReplyDeleteWe just decorate small things for Halloween.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween season.
Super journaling
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend to you ~ thanks for stopping by and commenting ~ Always wonderful to hear from you ~ Xox

Love the spooky art!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous journal page.
ReplyDeleteSuch a stunning project, Linda ~ this is amazing, full of detail and a real feast for the eyes! Fabulous work and thank you so much for sharing and for playing along with us over on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog... x
ReplyDeletewhat a great journal page, and I immediately did a google-search for snarky stickers. How fun! Didn't even know they were out there. Might have to give myself some early Christmas-presents ;-) Love your new header too! Yes, putting away all the summer stuff is sad, I'm not looking forward to winter. I'm already comforting myself with lots of chocolate ... ;-) Have a great week ♥
ReplyDeleteHalloween? No, not for me! When Halloween first came to Sweden I thought...what the h... An evil, weird Easter witch! We have the Easter witch flying on a broomstick to BlĂĄkulla to dance in easter :) Se looks pretty much like that. But without spiderweb. But you made some cool art :)
ReplyDeleteA fabulous page Linda and the lady is quite scary. The flowers are a fabulous colour.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at Try it on Tuesday Avril x
Wishing you a wonderful week and happy creating to you. Xox

Deb would indeed love your black cat. Great page, Linda. You've made me curious. Now I have to look up Tim Holtz' Snarky Stickers sentiments ;-)
ReplyDeleteEileen
Love the spooky Halloween art! We are just getting into autumn weather here. It's my favorite time of year, but it doesn't last very long! Your lunch looked yummy! What a neat little restaurant. :) Happy PPF!
