I am guest host at Art Journal Journey this month and have chosen the theme "Creature Comforts". You can go many ways with the theme such as using rich autumn colors, creating a journal page around what brings you comfort, or going literally with creating a creature - Halloween or otherwise. I do hope you'll join in, and for really wonderful, creative inspirations do visit the link ups!
Here is another entry from me:
Special friends I have "met" blogging bring me much joy and comfort as do the lovely notes and such I occasionally receive from some. This beautiful tag was sent to me in 2012 by my dear friend Patty S. and I decided to use it in one of my calendar journal pages. I know some of you have asked- although Patty isn't currently blogging you can catch her gorgeous art and photography on Instagram:)
And here are my September calendar spreads:
For T Stands For Tuesday I have a special lunch to share that I had while in Cape May a few weeks ago:
Finally I got to taste my first lobster roll!!! Now, Erika, I'm sure it doesn't compare to the ones you get to enjoy in New England, but this one was delicious!! I'd looked at reviews for where to get a really good lobster roll and went with the tiny place called Quincy's near our motel and got take out. We would definitely have one again:)
We also recently were able to enjoy the Celtic Classic weekend in our home town and the weather was perfect! We got to enjoy some wonderful music, the Tartan Parade, Highland Games, Border Collie Training Demos, and a Guinness (or two;) Here are just a few pics:
From top- left to right the first 4 pics are of my high school alma mater. I still get goosebumps when I hear them play- this band is the most powerful and grand band of all the schools in our LV area! Bottom left represent the military, and bottom right- two of the four police horses that patrol our city.
And above are a few of the bagpipe bands that paraded then played to compete for first place.
And now how about some Christmas???
WHAT- yes I did say Christmas!! Not that I really want to think of it yet as we are still enjoying summer like weather. But I couldn't resist taking out some of my stash and making two quick and easy cards for the Simon Wednesday Challenge (Let's Get Ready For Christmas!)
OK, I think you've had enough from me in this post so thanks if you're still here! Will be around to visit you too. Happy Columbus Day in the US, and a Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian friends - enjoy!

You have some gorgeous art today Linda, and I am glad to hear Patty is still making art. I need to get onto Instagram and see what she's been up to. And your blog header is perfect for fall. That Celtic parade looks amazing. How cool to have that near you. And mostly, I am so glad you finally had a lobster roll. And even more glad that you enjoyed it so much. It looks like they put some chives or something on it, but I bet that is good addition. Too bad you can't do a mail switch of lobster rolls so we could compare them. Have a great T day Linda. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed all of your lovely art today, and the parade. the lobster roll looks delicious-I have never had one. Happy T enjoy your day hugs
ReplyDeleteYou certainly know how to pack a great deal of art and interesting photos into a single post, Linda. Your lovely art for Art Journal Journey shows a very different, yet beautiful side to your theme this month. I LOVE the background AND I love that tag that Patty sent you. She has always been so very thoughtful. Thanks for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey, and thanks for hosting this month.
ReplyDeleteYour parade was unique and unusual. Is it something relevant or specific to your area? I would love to join you as you watched the parade and went for a Guinness or two afterwards. If it's a stout, I'll drink it. If it's anything else, no thanks.
Speaking of drinks, I have never had a lobster roll, but it looks good and is making me hungry. Thanks for sharing it and your drink with us for T this Tuesday.
And I don't care what anyone says, I'm NOT ready for Christmas. Your cards are cute, though.
So many gorgeous art Linda! Great to use Patty's tag a part of the calendar pages! I miss her art blog even though I see her beautiful art on Insta and FB. But that's not the same for me as her wonderful blogposts were in the past. Your calendar pages are wonderful and so are the x-mas cards! What a fun event in your town! Thank you for sharing the intersting photos and I can imagine how good such a lobster roll tastes. Heavenly for sure!
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day and Art Journal Journey dear October hostess!
Big hugs, Susi
i always enjoy your versatile journaling pages, all of them are great. good you had the best weather for the tartan parade:)
ReplyDeleteand no, i´m not thinking x-mas yet LOL. but in the end you will be lucky to have some cards made before the stress sets in:)
happy t-day ♥
Fantastic art journal pages, your diary is looking fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas cards were also super. I haven't thought about mine as yet.
Your lobster roll looks yummy, I have yet to see anything like it on offer in our restaurants, maybe if we lived in the south of the UK but not here in the north.
I loved the photos of the marching bands. It looks like a super gathering.
Happy T day wishes Linda.
Yvonne xx
I've never had lobster roll and have been curious, but I never see it offered around here. Yours looks delicious! I may not be ready for Christmas, but some things require preparation. Looks like you'll be prepared :) Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteYour calendar pages are so fun and colorful. Lobster rolls are the best and I had to smile when I saw Cape Cod potato chips made in my state. The Celtic Classic looks like fun. I love the sound of the bagpipes. I watched a Youtube video something like 18 Christmas cards in 18 minutes. She did the same thing you did. Very cool idea. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteYour journal page has so many lovely textures. That lady is my favorite!! All your pages are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWe love Celtic music in our family so a Celtic weekend sounds amazing! How much fun you must have had. Who doesn't like bagpipes?
Good for your getting started on Christmas. Your cards are so pretty. The black chalkboard looks perfect with the colorful letters.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
great looking spreads :) I find it so funny that highland games are more popular in north america then they are here in scotland lol
ReplyDeleteThose are great journal pages. Of course my eye went straight to the turtle (my fav animal). I totally agree with the turtle life rules. (They made me smile)
ReplyDeleteWow, what a parade! It looks very British. I love that sort of bands and I enjoy listening to bag pipes.
Oh gosh, Christmas cards. Please... I must admit these are really cute. Well done.
