Whimsical and Spooky
Are you having some crazy weather like we are? It was so humid, muggy and in the upper 80's F early last week that we actually had to put the AC on for a day. And then- it got cold!! Cold enough that we then had to switch to heat, and I even put the flannel sheets on the bed! No wonder people get sick...
For T Stands For Tuesday:
Having my morning coffee and doing some reading in a cozy corner.
For Art Journal Journey (where I am guest host this month with the theme of Creature Comforts) I have this page:
I followed another Painting With Jane You Tube video and had such fun doing this one- especially the technique for creating the fence! There are over 60 fabulous entries so far at Art Journal Journey and they are all so creative, so do have a look, and then join us won't you?
This tag is meant for several challenges- the Simon Monday Challenge (theme is "Starry Night"); Tag Tuesday (theme is "Bunting or Flags); and the Simon Wednesday Challenge (Anything But a Card):
So difficult to capture shimmer, gemstones and sequins. Besides assorted stickers, patterned paper, silver cord, gemstone stars from my stash I used images from Inky Antics Muse News and Long Hair Flair stamp sets designed by Andrea Ockey Paar (I've been using them alot lately:); Archival jet Black ink; sentiment is an old Cat's Life Press stamp; shimmery purple spray ink (Inkadinkado); dry chalks; Tim Holtz mini stapler; white acrylic paint; and a Signo uni-ball white gel pen.
I will also be linking to Paint Party Friday !
Thanks so much for popping in. Will be around to visit you too. XO

Some very lovely paintings! Love the bright colors and those cat eyes. I know what you mean about the drastic temperature change. Perfect indeed for those flannel sheets and a warm drink.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
We're having this crazy weather too. They are saying that it will be 27 degrees Wednesday night with a high of 37 on Thursday. Holy cow! But I love your fabulous Halloween cat. You really have made a wonderful background that makes the whole painting glow. Great tag too. Have a wonderful T day and stay warm. hugs-Erika

ReplyDeleteYour Halloween cat spider painting is ADORABLE dear Linda and so is the beautiful tag! What a lovely space for reading and the ug is really artsy! We have still warm weather during the day and cold temperatures at night. A fabulous October so far here in my region. But the cold and wet time will come for sure!
ReplyDeleteHappy T-Day and happy AJJ! I love your wonderful theme and wished I had more time for making more entries - but so much on the agenda here just now.
Lots of Love from

Thank you for hosting AJJ in such a fabulous way my friend! This is wonderful!
Good afternoon, yes crazy weather too.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing your art-and love the cat the most-very neat
Happy T hugs Kathy
I hope Deb stops by even though she's not at T this week. She'd adore your spooky black cat, Linda! Very cute. And so is the tag. The star bunting is especially unique.
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day. Hugs, Eileen
We had the same sort of weather. A couple of really warm days last week and then cold. So cold, the heat came on. I love the painting. Black cats are so cool. Great background color on the tag, too. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteGreat projects! I wanted to do entries for both, but have procrastinated. Does it matter what day I post a project for Tag Tuesday? I didn't have one done by today, but could I post on a day other than a Tuesday?
ReplyDeleteYes you can post on any day so long as it's during the time frame the theme runs- which is 2 weeks. Every two weeks there is another host and theme:)
Deletenice bright kitty painting :D
ReplyDeleteyep weather here has been odd here too. warm one day, and really rainy the next
yes, when we were in Tennessee, the weather went from 85 degrees to 53 degrees! wacky for sure...Love your whimsical cat and that spider! so cute...and the lovely gal on the tag too. ♥ happy T day!
ReplyDeleteI apologize for being so late, but the electricity on my block went out many hours ago just as I was commenting on Lisca’s post. So anyone who linked after Eileen gets this apology message.
ReplyDeleteYour spider happy cat is fabulous, and absolutely PURRFECT for your theme at Art Journal Journey. I adore the painting and those big eyes. I love the way the spider has created a web around the cat's tail. That was GENIUS. Thanks for adding this to Art Journal Journey.
You have created a lovely bunting tag, too. It is both fun and adorable.
When I had no electricity today, I had to stay bundled under the covers (my heat has an electric pilot light), so I did exactly the same as you. I snuggled with the boys and read a book before falling asleep. Thanks for sharing your art, your books, and coffee with us for T this Tuesday.
Oh I love all your projects, Linda! Such bright colors and lovely moods. The last tag definitely caught my eyes. Love how you expressed the girl. Thanks so much for joining us at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday
ReplyDeleteIt has turned a lot cooler here, in fact quite cold at night time! A book and coffee in a cosy corner sounds good! Love your page with the cheeky spider! Your tag is a real beauty too! Happy T day, Chrisx
