So how's your September coming along? We are lucky to live in an area where the month is so beautiful, and I'm taking advantage of that. I'm really enjoying having our friends' dog Riley again for the week:) Little walks throughout the day and art time and reading outside in between!
Lots of art to share so I'll have to pick and choose what to post this week. I'm starting with some pages from my Dylusions Creative Dyary Journal.
This one's meant for T Stands for Tuesday:
The background paper is a rice paper I got from Joggles. I added some extra coffee stains using Distress Vintage Photo ink and a stamp from the Coffee Time Darkroom Door set. The coffee cup is a napkin. Sentiment is Tim Holtz Snarky Small Talk stickers.
A few more pages from this calendar journal:
The page was covered with Antique White paint. I then sponged on Distress Oxide inks in Pistachio and Fossilized Amber. For some reason the Amber looks peachy here. I then splattered a bit of it too. The window frame image is an oldie from Stamper's Anonymous and the sentiment is from the Wall Art clear stamp set by Wow!Stamps (purchased at the Simon Says Stamp online store) . First I stamped off the page with Archival Sepia ink before stamping on the page for a very lucid effect then stamped over the images with the full strength ink. Butterfly is from Tim Holtz Botanicals . I'll share this page along with the next one with the Simon Wednesday Challenge (Stamp It); the Simon Monday Challenge (Stamp It); and Moo Mania and More (Use a stamp).
And this one I will also share with Art Journal Journey (theme is Polka dots/Stripes/Plaids or Patterns) and Try It On Tuesday (Boys/Girls/Children).
Products:Girl- Inky Antics Long Hair Flair stamp set; washi tape heart- Dina Wakley; sentiment stickers- Tim Holtz; Archival Jet Black ink; Altenew Morning Frost ink; Carabelle Studio Bulles stencil; dry chalks; assorted markers; Stickles Diamond glitter glue (Ranger).
Yet another calendar page:
and this will work for some of the challenges as well:) Many of the pages in the Creative Dyary (on the right side of each spread) have preprinted backgrounds. I always like to add some extra stamping and carry a bit of it over to the left page where I fill in my calendar each week. Here I added extra stamping using Dylusions Basic Backgrounds stamp set and Archival inks I chose to pretty much match the colors in the background that were already there. That beautiful floral image is from Dina Wakley's Collage Collective book. Sentiment is Tim Holtz Small Talk Occasions sticker. I added some extra splatters with black ink too.
Lastly, this is another page done in a similar series of abstracts I began making earlier in the year. You can see the others here, here, and here if you wish. I'll have one more to post next time.
Joining Paint Party Friday this week too of course:) Wishing you all a fun, happy and creative week!

Lots of beautiful art, you have been busy. Love the coffee piece especially. Enjoy the good weather and your doggy-company! Happy T Day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteA fantastic selection of pages Linda, it would be hard to pick out a favourite, although I was drawn to the one you shared with us at Try it on Tuesdays and the first one.
ReplyDeleteHappy T day wishes.

You certainly gave us a full load of incredible mixed media art this week, Linda. you know how much I love your abstracts, and this one is amazing.
ReplyDeleteYour journal page with the butterfly reminds me of Teesha Moore. And the little girl with her wild hair is adorable. Love the banner above her head. It's the perfect addition for Erika's theme at Art Journal Journey, too.
But the page that blew me away was the one where you used the coffee cup napkin. This was stunning and incredible. It was simply perfect for T this Tuesday, dear Linda.
Wonderful artwork. I share the same sentiments as your Summer Girl. Your puppy friend is cute even if he's wearing an Eagles jacket. Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteThat dog is a real cutie :) I love your coffee art with that perfect-sized cup and those coffee circles. I sympathize with the sentiment. I also feel a kinship with your "I love summer" girl, tho I love all the seasons :) Abstracts always appeal to me. Happy T Tuesday!

Gosh you have been busy! And you have created totally different things. They are all beautiful in their own way. My fav is the last one: 'Bliss'.
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm late in commenting. We are having problems with the power lines in the strong winds. The power goes off every few minutes for a short while and then it takes my computer a few minutes to boot up again. Nightmare!
Happy belated T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca

ReplyDeleteLovely creations, one 'n' all!
So many beautiful pages and each one very different. Fabulous art, Linda! That Riley sure is a cutie.
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day! Eileen xx
Yet another wonderful collection of arty pieces from you, Linda. Love them all, particularly the coffee page, the abstract and the one for our TIOT challenge. She must be the only one of Andrea's girlies I don't possess! I love them all, with their quirky hair and simple design that blends in well with any underlying theme and this one is just beautifully done in soft, feminine mode. I LOVE coffee, so that page is right up my street and your abstract is way beyond my skills, but stunning. Your diary pages are also gorgeous. Hope you're still enjoying the doggie - they bring so much joy. Thank you so much for playing in our 'Boys, Girls, Children' challenge at Try it on Tuesday and for once again treating us to your beautiful art :-)
