What have you all been up to lately? Hubby and I should have been at the beach but as we had to cancel we have been enjoying our staycation. Good food, lots of outdoor time and gorgeous weather! That means not much got done art-wise and that's OK. I have been managing to keep up with the Index Card a Day Challenge and posting daily on Instagram. Here they are so far:
#2
#3
#4
#5
#6
#7
and this one is my ticket to T Stands For Tuesday:
#8
All backgrounds are gelli plate prints using a variety of stencils, products and techniques from videos by Birgit Koopsen. This is the link to see all her videos. The quotes, sentiments, affirmations are either stamps, stickers, or computer generated. If you have any questions about anything on any of the cards let me know.
Another bit of small art:
A page in one of my junk journals. They don't look too happy about taking a road trip do they:):)
And a journal page for Art Journal Journey (theme is A Stitch in Time):
Lots of Dina Wakley again;) Dina Wakley: Media Journal, stencils, Collage Collective, Collage tissues, paints. Other: black gesso, white gesso, Posca pens, Tim Holtz mini stapler.
That's it from me. Joining Paint Party Friday later too:) Have a super week everyone!
" The road to happiness has never been a straight one, and yet, it's the only road worth traveling, no matter how curvy or rocky it is." Mehmet Murat Ildan
I'm sorry you are missing the beach, but your stay-cation is sounding great. I'm so glad you posted your ICADs. I post mine every Friday if you have a chance to stop by. I am not on any other social media site, just blogger. I think my favorites this week are 7 and 8. I love hearts and the sentiment, too.
ReplyDeleteThat road trip is wonderful. I really liked it. I guess because it's vintage. It made me smile the way you used the tape to hold the image in place over the map.
That was quite a clever stitched entry for Halle's theme at Art Journal Journey, too. I love the splatters and the lovely tag you sewed in place. Thanks for sharing your ICADs, your art piece, your journal page, and your coffee inspired ICAD with us for T this Tuesday, Linda.
Wow, Linda, you have been busy, what a lot of beautiful art you have created, well done. My fave is, of course, the coffee one! Happy T Day, and have a good week, stay well. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and I would not call this "not much done"!
ReplyDeleteSorry you missed the beach...
Happy T-day.
You've been very creative and productive with artwork this week. I like your ICADs. I haven't been doing much artwork because I'm still trying to get my flower beds back under control. Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteLinda, your tag and the collage you made with it are absolutely beautiful!!! I love the colors and textures, and your stitching. I also love the page you made for your junk journal. I remember those road trips from when my sisters and I were kids!!! And we are enjoying our "Staycation" too. I have been working from home and so is my husband. He started back to work this week - a few hours at a time. I hope you get to go to the beach this summer!!! Hope all is well with you and your family. HUGS!
ReplyDeleteSome totally fabulous creations! Love them all but the road trip one and your journal page for Art*Journal*Journey are my favorites. Your journal page is thought provoking. Love the stitching and the great divide. Wonderfully done pieces. TFS! hugz
ReplyDeletefabulous contrived works of art!!! I can understand that you miss the beach!
ReplyDeleteHave a good day, hugs Elke
Linda I think you've gotten a lot of art done. I am impressed with your ICADS. I think I need to try making some although I will wait until next year's challenge. I do especially love the roadtrip piece. I know you probably wish to be at the beach right now. I would like to go someplace. I don't think I have stayed in such a small circle of area for years. And your piece for AJJ is wonderful. Nice use of stitching. Loving how you use those Dina W images. You are a pro! Have a great T day Linda. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for joining us at AJJ too. I hit publish just as I thought to write that.
ReplyDeleteI like your cards :) A staycation can be fun, I know, but I'd rather be at the beach ;) Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteAwesome small pieces of art and you added super quotes as well. Sad that you couldn't get your holiday, but its better staying safe.
ReplyDeleteYour journal page looks fantastic, thank you for linking up with Halle's theme.
Happy T day wishes.
Yvonne xx
I am loving your daily art pieces and your journal page too-hoping you can get to the beach soon-hugs Happy T Kathy
ReplyDeleteWe are also thinking of the trip we are missing -- we should be just about on the way to Iceland. But no go. Every possible shutdown: Iceland isn't admitting tourists, National Geographic isn't running any tours, and we wouldn't dream of getting on an airplane even if they were flying.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'll have to enjoy my coffee smells at home, as your card suggests.
be well... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Beautiful art! The index cards are fabulous, such different designs and your T Day coffee is perfect 😀. Take care and wishing you a Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, lots of wonderful art her. You have been busy. We are staying home and going out as little as possible. The wind and rain keeps us in anyway. Working on painting and my garden, which I now have to go cover because the storm is playing havoc. Have a great week. See ya at PPF
ReplyDeleteLinda Tory art work is beautiful and I love the quotes especially the one about a friend knowing the song. Sorry you are missing your holiday, I’m just getting over the upset of our cancelled trip to see our family, it may be next year before we see them now but it’s better we all stay safe,
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week

Yes, it's a bummer that our holidays have gone by the wayside. Our holiday of March has to be re-booked. (no refund possible)
ReplyDeleteYour index cards are great. I like all those quotes and sayings too.
Wishing you a happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Fabulous ICADs, Linda! I'm glad you're finding ways to enjoy your staycation. Oh boy, do I have questions. I've started watching Birgit's videos too. I'm bound and determined to make somme decent gel plate prints. What media did you put on your gel plates?
ReplyDeleteGreat page for AJJ, too. Honestly, Linda, you're fast becoming one of my favorite artists. <3
Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen xx
Loving all of your work! Of course I'm partial to the piece you created for A Stitch in Time!
ReplyDeleteHappy T day!
I think my favorite piece today is the road trip! So many wonderful textures in that background.
ReplyDeleteThat is disappointing that you and your hubby had to cancel your beach trip. We are going to the Outer Banks soon. We were very surprised that they were open but it is just in time for our planned dates. Hopefully, you will be able to reschedule.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Wow! Linda ~ you have been busy ~ lush creative index cards with inspiring words ~ Glad you had a good 'StaVacation' ~ hope you get to the ocean soon ~ Xxx

all beautiful and inspiration full. The last image could be sold as a poster for a woman's room, to remind her to believe in herself
ReplyDeleteSorry you missed your trip - we bought a caravan last autumn but haven't been able to visit all these months. Feeling so upset about it.
ReplyDeleteLove your index cards, I have done them too, I am a first timer at them so just done inky backgrounds and then stamped. Sometimes coloured with pencils because of my bad back.
Anyway, I loved your little tag - I don't think they smiled on photos in those days, I have some old family photos and they are all straight faced.
Love your page for AJJ, I am a fan of Dina's work and you have used her things to perfection.
Hugs, Neet xx
Happy PPF and a wonderful weekend, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to pick a favorite of your Index cards. But I choose the last one.
ReplyDelete"She believed she could - so she did". That is a great thing! :)
Take care.
Small art but powerful and creative ~ love it all ~

Loving seeing your ICADs! So sad to missing vacations - we had Paris and some trips here that had to be cancelled! At least we are keeping busy - no time to be bored! I love your journal page and you have inspired me with that great idea of using a tag! Very belated T Day wishes, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteJust had my first morning espresso, soon need another one :)
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!
