Finally the 61 day Index Card a Day Challenge on Instagram has ended and I made it through! Now I have a deck of 61 positive affirmation cards-quotes on the June cards, and words on the July cards:
It was a fun challenge but I'm also glad it has ended as I am quite ready to move on to other things;)
Like making birthday cards I'll be needing for this month. Our heat wave continues but it's the heavy humidity that is keeping me in more than out during the day and that gives me more time for art. I am linking these to both the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge (Anything Goes), and the Simon Says Monday Challenge ( Happy Birthday!). The Simon Says Monday Challenge is celebrating 10 years-congrats to all, and here's to at least 10 more!!
My cards:
I decided to keep them CAS using patterned cardstocks from the same mat stack ( Mariposa -DCWV). They are prettier in person because the butterflies don't show their glittery goodness in the photo.
Other products: large white notecards (Recollections); stitched Circles dies (Our Daily Bread designs).Sentiment on cards 1 and 3 (Stampabilities Clear set). Sentiment on cards 2 and 4 (Hero Arts). Versafine Onyx Black ink, Versamark ink; Staz On Spiced Chai ink; brown cardstock (Bazzill Basics Paper); white embossing powder; washi tape (Recollections); border punch (Fiskars).
For T Stands For Tuesday I will share the clafoutis I made and had with coffee:
It is a mixed berry clafoutis. I make cherry clafoutis ( my French family's recipe) every summer but when Chef Joanne Weir shared this version on Instagram I knew I had to make it- blueberries, nectarines, and plums- delicious! and light too:)
It went so well with my morning coffee. Cheers!
There is a new challenge for the month of August over at Art Journal Journey .The guest host is Alison aka Craftytrog. Alison has chosen the theme of "Pockets and Tags" so here is my journal page:
I have now begun playing with the Dina Wakley Gloss sprays on my journal pages and on tags and sheets of watercolor paper, following lessons from her Gloss Spray online class. I really LOVE these sprays! Here I used Lemon, Lime, Turquoise, Carnation, and Night. I also used DW Penny and Night paints, Mini Favorites and Squoval stencils; Collage Collective; Words Collage Tissue. The tag was done at an earlier date. I have a container filled with tags I have made so now some will get repurposed;)
Tomorrow we are expecting heavy winds, rains and damaging thunderstorms from tropical storm Isaias so if we lose power I will catch up with the T gang later. Hope things don't get too stormy where you live.
Joining Paint Party Friday later this week. TTFN!

Well done with all these index cards. And the cards are so pretty. What a great stash you have. I am sure you are going to put it to good use.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have never had a clafoutis but it looks amazing!! Yum!
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Your clafoutis looks delicious! I first heard of it in Mastering the Art of French Cooking, but now I know it's a classic.
ReplyDeletebe well... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
You have created 61 fabulous ICADs, Linda. I like how you used different concepts for June and July. I like them both and they all look SO good together. It was great that you made them affirmation cards. Simply beautiful, all. Like you, I'm ready to move on, but I sure enjoyed seeing all of yours.
ReplyDeleteThat lovely journal page you created for Art Journal Journey is beautiful. I love that you sewed the tag, too. It really brings out the beauty of it. Thanks for sharing it with us using Alison's theme.
Those birthday cards are incredible. I absolutely adore them. I really LIKE how you made them simple, yet totally elegant.
I've never had clafoutis, although I have heard of it. Possibly from one of the baking shows I watch. It looks delicious and I might try to make one some day when the weather is cooler and I don't mind heating the kitchen. I can see it goes well with your coffee. Thanks so much for sharing your incredible art, your clafoutis, and your coffee with us for T this Tuesday, dear Linda.
Those ATCs seen together are really impressive, well done. Love the tag-page your made for AJJ, too. The clafoutis looks great, yummy! Have a great week, happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, but I understand you need to go on to different things.
ReplyDeleteHeat wave, ha. It´s slightly warming up here only! Send some temps over, will you, please???
Yummy food, a happy T-day to you!
Hope you don’t get too much damage from the storm. They are saying high winds and rain here with potential flooding. Keeping my fingers crossed for both of us. And I made a cherry clafoutis once. Yum. Yours looks and sounds delicious with lots of fruits. And I love all the ICADS too. Those sprays are my favorites right now too the colors are great and they don’t mush up when you glue or add media to your page. And I do like the page for AJJ also. It is so bright and happy. Stay dry today and have a wonderful T day. Hugs Erika
ReplyDeleteWow, all those ICADs look amazing! I love the designs and beautiful colours, so creative 😀. That calfoutis look amazing too, perfect to have with a cuppa! Your journal page and cards are gorgeous as always too! Wishing you a Happy T Day! Take care! Hugs, Jo x

ReplyDeleteCAS? I love your birthday cards.
The background for your tag page is really cool.
We had a big rain and hail storm last night. The screened in patio got really soaked. What a clean-up job I had this morning!
