Wow, August is almost over already...where has the summer been going? These next two weeks are going to fly by for me as most days I have some appointment to go to -just yearly appts. and check ups now that offices are open-and in addition I have several appointments to take my Mom to. So I may be a bit late getting to everyone over at T Stands For Tuesday tomorrow as the appointments begin ;)
I posted this journal page over on IG but wanted to share it here too because I do love the way it turned out! I'll join in one last time this week at Try It On Tuesday for the theme of Words and Numbers:
Products:
Dina Wakley Media Journal, paints- Magenta, Tangerine, Elephant; stamps- Good Idea set, and Always Flowers set; Scribble Sticks- set 2; Darkroom Door stamp set- Number Medley, stencil-Circles; Jet Black Archival ink; Black Marabu Art Spray; Wendy Vecchi Brick Wall stencil; Black Fude Ball pen. Hexagon "stencil" is a cut out scrapbook cardstock I used as a stencil.
For T Stands for Tuesday this week I will share our meals from our dinner out with friends the other week. The Limeport Inn is a lovely old restaurant with excellent food and service. We hope one day to be able to go and eat inside near the fireplace.
Hubby and I shared a Caesar salad - and even sharing it was a huge plate full for both of us-and oh so good! Our friends shared a roasted beet, arugula, goat's cheese salad- the one I was tempted to get:) Bill had a German beer and the rest of us had Cabernet Sauvignon.
And for something other than my usual choice of fish of some kind I chose the Chicken Marsala and it was divine with the perfectly made sauce and bites of crab, mushrooms and asparagus on top of the tender chicken breasts which had a mound of mashed potatoes underneath.
Hubby's choice- Chicken Parmesan! Wendy had a pasta dish, her hubby had the meatloaf-and we all agreed our meals were wonderful. The portions were so large we each took a doggie bag home and enjoyed a second full meal the next day:) Cheers!
The new theme over at the Simon Says Monday Challenge is "Grunge It Up", and this month's theme at Art Journal Journey is "Pockets and Tags".There is a new two week challenge at Try It On Tuesday (Splashes and Splatters) I'll join in the three with this journal page:
Products: Manila tag, Jet Black Archival ink- Ranger Ink; Paper dolls, Snarky Small Talk, mini stapler- Tim Holtz. Gloss sprays- Lime, Fuschia, Lemon; Collage Collective; Media Journal Blue edition; Mini Favorites, Fractured Circles stencils-all Dina Wakley. Faux stitching stamp- Whimsy Stamps. Marabu Black Art Spray.
And that's all for this week folks! Joining in at Paint Party Friday also. Wishing you a happy and safe week ahead!

Hi Linda, I love your art this week especially the first one.
ReplyDeleteWow your food looks so delicious! Glad you were able to get and enjoy dining at a restaurant.
I have a bunch of appt's come up too in the next few months. Happy T Kathy
Lovely journal pages. The balance between white and color in your work always amazes me!
ReplyDeleteI too hope that indoor dining will be a thing again soon. In the meantime, your meals look delicious.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
First of all you sure made me hungry Linda. Your hubby's pick would be my hubby's dinner pick too. It looks so good I might have to have it too. And thanks for that super page for Try It On Tuesday. I love that Matisse quote and the flowers are so pretty. And what a fun page for Alison's challenge at Art Journal Journey. That quote and the expression on that girl's face work together so well. Thanks for joining in there also. And have a fabulous T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYour blue flowers are cheerful and colorful.
ReplyDeleteThose look like great meals you had. We still aren't eating out.

Your art always makes me smile, Linda. I love the page you created for TioT. Those flowers are gorgeous. I also LOVE the grunge of the page you also included for Art Journal Journey. I really love that stencil you used in the background. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey because I got a big laugh out of the sentiment.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I'm now hungry. I am really impressed with the size of the meals, including the salads you got. I can see how you were able to make a second meal from these leftovers, too. Thanks for sharing your beautiful art, your meals, and your wine and beer with us for T this almost Tuesday, dear friend. I'll try to return later to see what I've missed while I was offline.
Lovely art, great colours. The food you had out looks wonderful, now I'm hungry! And thanks so much for joining us at TIOT, much appreciated. Have a great week, happy T Day, Valerie

I like the quotes you paired with your journal pages. The little girl with her party hat really made me laugh. Himself made us an eggplant Parmigiana this week. Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteWow! That certainly is a beautiful page. You can be proud of that. A work of art. I'm so glad you decided to share it with us too.
ReplyDeleteThe food looks absolutely delicious! And the portions are huge! I can well understand that you took some home to make another meal.
I love Mother Theresa's quote at the end.
I'm sorry I'm late in commenting. My laptop has decided it does no longer wants to use Chrome or Internet Explorer and I have not been able to comment. I have an iPhone but I've tried commenting before and most comments don't arrive. So I am looking for someone to do me a blog on Wordpress (the free version). If you know of anyone who could do that for me and is reasonably priced, please let me know. I have tried myself but I have not succeeded.
Happy belated T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Your journal page is beautiful and light. Love it. Your chicken parmesean and caesar salad look delicious! Happy Day!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda what a beautiful post. Your art is so inviting and that food. I will take both. Have a wonderful evening.
ReplyDeleteI do like your first journal page. The blue flowers stand out so against the complimentary orange circles and the pink ones. The tiny verse is lovely and it looks kind of wavy which makes the page look dimensional. How clever.
ReplyDeleteLove the food you are showing us and the chicken dinner sounds wonderful - no wonder you had to have doggy bags.
Great final journal page too - I love the little girl waiting for the party to begin. Great way to incorporate a tag!
hugs, Neet xx
