Time Flies!

It's been two weeks since I last posted-yikes- and it's now September! Time certainly is flying by quickly now that more appointments are being made for my Mom. I'm pretty well caught up with mine thank goodness. Wedding plans for our son are moving along nicely but now I am busy making appts. for a dress alteration (now that I got my dress and shoes-yay!), hair and makeup trial, bridal shower happenings, and trying to see what we can arrange for a rehearsal dinner.

In between I am making a bit of time for art whenever I can, AND watching the Tour De France!!

And as I have had France on my mind so much I got inspired to make a special French pastry so grab a cuppa your favorite beverage and have one of these won't you?

Chocolate Croissants- YUM ๐Ÿ˜‹

Cheers to the T Stands For Tuesday gang!

 Journal page:

I created this page for the August Dina Wakley/Ranger Year of Gratitude Challenge. The prompt was "I am grateful for the kindness of strangers". Black acrylic paint; Numbers stamp from Darkroom Door; white Posca pen. Dina Wakley- media Journal, Collage Collective, Collage Tissue, washi tape, stencil, Ocean Scribble stick, Magenta paint; Archival Jet Black ink; alphabet stamp set - Inkadinkado.

Another journal page- this one meant for the Sept. Art Journal Journey challenge "texture" chosen by guest host Jo :

I love the texture of this heavy watercolor paper in the Dina Wakley Media Journal- Blue edition! Background was done using her new Curly Frond stencil along with a coffee stain stencil(unknown) and Aloe Gloss Spray. The photo is from a magazine. I distressed it by using sandpaper over it and a Signo white uni-ball pen to age it a bit and get rid of the gloss sheen.

 Detail of the photo:

I also added some stamping to the background using Heliotrope pigment ink, a text stamp(unknown), and a stamp of numbers from Darkroom Door. I had come across this beautiful quote recently and knew I had to create a page around it.

The theme over at Try It On Tuesday is "neat and tidy" so I'll share this birthday card with that theme in mind, and also for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "stamp it":

A shame you can't see the glitter on the frame on the card and on the butterflies on the card and the stamped envie๐Ÿ˜ž. Patterned card stock- DCWV; ivory card stock and envelope-Canvas Corp; butterfly stamp - Magenta; sentiment stamp-unknown; Archival Jet Black ink; alcohol markers; Stickles Diamond Glitter Glue- Ranger

Joining in at Paint Party Friday as well. Hope your September is off to a great start!

PS: my first time using the new blogger interface and I really do like it- especially that now I can add emojis using my desktop PC to post๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. So glad to see you back for T this Tuesday, dear Linda. I was thinking about you this morning when I was watching the Tour De France. I don't care about the riders, but I love seeing the beautiful scenery. I knew you would be watching, because you never miss it.

You have created some beautiful art today. Your card is lovely, as is your Dina Wakely Journal page. But your Art Journal Journey page is perfect. I never thought about sanding a magazine image before. I always lament how shiny the image is, and now I know how to get rid of all that shine. I'll be following your lead, too. Thanks for sharing your secret and your link with us at Art Journal Journey using Jo's theme.

Your croissants look incredible. You made enough for the entire T Tuesday group. Too bad we couldn't be there in person to help eat them (grin). I WILL join you with a cup of coffee, though. Thanks so very much for sharing your croissants, your lovely art, and your coffee with us for T this nearly Tuesday.

  3. I love croissants, but the word "chocolate" made me go "ewww"! LOL!
I´d go for normal or cheese. Great. Hungry now! Bakery will not open before 07:00 am and it´s 06:19!
Love your art and have seen but one bee/wasp this year, how sad!

  6. Fabulous post! Your son's wedding plans sound wonderful and how lovely to have your dress and shoes all sorted - yay ๐Ÿ˜Š. Loving your pages too, the spread kindness is so beautiful. Your textured page is gorgeous too, live the way you used the mask for the foliage background and the bee image is gorgeous with the quote - perfect! Thanks so much for joining us at Art Journal Journey and wishing you a very happy T Day! I'll happily join you for one of those yummy French pastries with my cuppa today! Hugs, Jo x

  7. Ok now I hungry. Croissants are a favorite and yours look very very good. And I love your page for AJJ. It is has wonderful summer feel and some nice texture. Can you believe it is already September 8? Thanks for joining us at Ajj and Try it on Tuesday also. I like the brown butterflies. That a nice card for a guy who isn’t into tools and all those usual guy things. You must be excited for the wedding too. Too bad it is during a Covid time. Or am I remembering that incorrectly? Have a wonderful t day. Enjoy! Hugs Erika

  9. I have my coffee ready, and those croissants look like just the thing :)

I'm liking everything about the new blogger except the lack of a paging feature for posts. Having to scroll down through pages-worth of posts to get to the one I want is inconvenient. I'm guessing I'll get used to it. I hadn't even noticed the emoji option. Thanks for the heads-up on that :)

    Happy T Tuesday!

Beautiful pages and card. I love the look of that textured paper. O plan to buy a proper journal for next year, but since I'm rather new at all this, I think I'll start with Dina's basic mixed media journal.

Happy T-Day. Stay safe and well. Hugs, Eileen

  13. Your image with a bee is very beautiful. Yesterday I was trying to photograph bees in some of the flowers on my walk, but it's pretty hard to capture a good shot as they are often turned in a less-than perfect way.

    be well... mae at maefood.blogspot.com

  14. Oh yummy, croissants! And chocolate croissants, even better! I'll have one too please.
Yes, time flies. Great that you have your outfit and shoes etc sorted for the wedding. That must be a load off your mind.
I've gotten used to the new blogger. To be honest, I hadn't twigged that I could use emojis. Thanks for the tip.
    I'm loving the 'bee' card.
    Happy T-Day,
    Hugs,

  23. I love both of your journal pages and you have reminded me about that technique on magazine pages too! Your card is great for Try It On Tuesday, Thank you for joining us!
We've been watching the Tour de France too - it passed a few miles away from my SIL's house near Poitiers and about an hours drive from my son's place today...both of which, without Covid 19, we would have been visiting this month - made me quite sad watching over these last two days! My son says it is still quite hot there so imagine if it had been on in July! A very belated Happy T Day, Chrisx

  24. Oh gosh, chocolate croissants, yum, thanks!
Your first photo - the eyes - is lovely and yes kindness can mean so much.
I love the photo of the bee and how interesting the way you "distressed" it to give an interesting texture. I'll have to go out and sniff a few bees, there are certainly a lot of them about in our garden, buzzing noisily.
I've never watched The Tour and now you've encouraged me to have a look.

  35. your woman's eyes are awesome, and I so love the words on both the first two pieces... and that you eat croissants watching the tour de france. We started watching a show on a Brit couple renovating an old chateau in France... it was on Peacock. LeeAnna
