Rolling Into December

Hola! Hard to believe it is the last day of November. Since very early this morning it has been dark and raining -  sometimes very heavily with some thunder as well-and it's 62 F outside!!

Update- we had severe thunderstorms, the temp went up to 65, and we had tornado warnings between 3 and 5PM!!! Thankfully no tornadoes occurred and as things dissipated the whole sky cast a beautiful soft pink hue through all our windows. I hope these warmer temps are an indication of our coming winter months 😊

Here is how I prefer to see snow and cold:

On cards!

These are meant for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge (Anything Goes), and the Try It On Tuesday Challenge (Winter Wonderland). I began by spritzing watered down acrylic white paint on the kraft cards. Then I went to my Christmas craft bin to pull out some images. The Snoopy is recycled from an older Christmas card and the glittery snowmen are Royal Langnickel Rub Ons. I added the ribbon from American Crafts, snowflake stickers from Nicole, embossing paste, and Tim Holtz Small Talk Occasions Stickers.

For the T Stands For Tuesday link up I will share this peach cake I made the other day. I am constantly baking as my hubby has to have sweets every day-two or three times a day! If I do eat any, I will have one small piece like this and then that is it. He eats the rest unless our son and DIL come over. Good thing he is so active with exercise, weight lifting, bike riding, and running 😁

At the top of this post is a journal page from the Dina Wakley Blue Media Journal. The denim and burlap pages can sometimes be a challenge but so far I have been able to come up with something on occasion.

Here are two more pages I did for an Instagram 6 day gratitude challenge with a prompt each day. I shared two of the days in my last post. Here are two more:

The prompt for day 2 was "Friends".

and the prompt for day 3 was "home".

As you can see I am plugging through the pages in the two Dina Wakley Journals I have, along with using her stamps, (the large "home" stamp however is Paperbag Studios), scribble sticks, washi tape, collage tissue, and some bits and bobs from my stash.

That's it from me today. Once I learn of the new challenges at Art Journal Journey and Tag Tuesday I hope to jump in for next week!  Until then you can also find me joining Paint Party Friday:)

 Happy week to all!

And I also love the journal pages. Beautiful work. And peach cake sounds delicious. I wish my hubby would eat more sweets, so I wouldn't. Smile. Have a great T day and new month. Hugs-Erika

  4. It turned cold here yesterday and tonight it's already down to 24 F. as I write this. Glad it's much warmer where you are.

You have some wonderful art this week. I especially like "Home," which is where most of us are these days.

Your peach cake looks and sounds good. I love peaches and may have to put them on my shopping list, too. Thanks for sharing your amazing art, your beautiful Christmas cards, and your peach cake and coffee in that beautiful poppy mug with us for T this almost Tuesday, dear Linda.

  7. Lovely assortment of artwork. We had the same wild weather as you. For awhile, New Jersey had a Tornado Watch, but luckily that was never issued for Connecticut. I'm hoping we have a mild Winter, too. Happy T-Day!

  8. Haha. I love what you said about seeing the snow and ice on a card. I feel the same way. I looks beautiful when it is freshly fallen but it is a mess to drive in and clean up. Your snoopy card is adorable.
Love your journal pages. I am going to have to check out that Instagram challenge.
    Happy Tea Day,
    Kate

  12. Hola Chica. Really love your art. Ohhh peach cake that sounds so good. I like you mug too. Glad you didn't get that Tornado. I was in one in OK years ago and I don't want to do that again. Enjoy your day.

  13. The cards are adorable! That's the way I like to see snow too. The embossing paste snow looks very cool.

Thank you for your IG account. I'm going to start to Explore! I guess I need to put some of my stuff up too.

I would have a hard time with fabric pages in a journal as well. You did a great job. I think clusters (which you're so good at) are perfect and that could make the pages relatively quick to do.

I bought a Dylusions journal for next year. It's my first store-bought journal. Why does that make me nervous? I feel like it's a BIG step.

Happy T-day! Stay safe and well. Hugs, Eileen

  16. We had warm temps. and heavy winds and rain. We lost electricity for a little while yesterday. At least it was rain and not snow! I agree with you. Snow belongs on Christmas cards, and mountain tops. Mmm, that peach cake looks so good. Happy T Day

  18. Your cards are beautiful. I like them a lot, especially the Snoopy one.
The peach cake looks delish. You are lucky to have a husband who can eat all your cakes. I often have to give away half cakes, as I know we won't eat it. (Not that my friends are complaining...)
    Sorry I'm late,
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Hugs,
