Playing Catch Up - Again!

At this rate I may be posting just randomly. Missed last week  because the Memorial Day holiday and hubby being home threw me off 😜 So how was everyone's weekend? We had no plans and just stayed home thankfully because it was a really crappy weekend- raining - and cold enough to have to put the heat on for two days (after having the AC on the week before)!! We ended up binge watching The Kominsky Method series on Netflix . Anyone see it at all? Funny and great acting by Michael Douglas and a host of guest stars!

Now we are back in summer heat wave mode again so much of my time is spent outdoors. But I am making time for this:

this is my third year participating on Instagram. I get to see lots of super art- including a mutual friend's of Elizabeth and mine - Cindy. I must go look for your cards on your blog Elizabeth;)

So here are my first week's cards:

For this month I am going to use index card backgrounds that recently resurfaced 😁. I had done these back in 2019 using a host of techniques taught by Birgit Koopsen using the Gelli Plate. I am also using scraps of gelli plate printed papers and just randomly digging through my stash of ephemera and vintage images for collage and then finishing with Tim Holtz sentiment stickers for the most part.

Some of you will recognize it because at least once each time we visit Cape May and our favorite spot especially for breakfast I MUST have the breakfast veggie wrap! Half always gets saved for later. And as you can see I have already downed one cup of coffee and am awaiting my second;) Cheers!

I also have a journal page for the new theme for this month of "butterflies" over at Art Journal Journey with guest host Mia:

Joining Paint Party Friday this week too. Have a great new week all!

  1. I think your weather is similar to ours. The heat is really here right now also. I am loving your ICADS. They are small masterpieces And thanks so much for sharing that wonderful butterfly piece for Mia's challenge at AJJ. Your breakfast looks delicious too. You must be happy you got to visit this spring and can plan on the fall too, after last year that is. Stay cool Linda, and I hope you have a wonderful T day. hugs-Erika

  3. We’ve loved our two visits to Cape May, but that was before the pandemic. I wonder when we’ll get back there. I feel as if everyone is waking up like at the end of Sleeping Beauty.

  5. I love your ICADs. They are sensational and they look so much richer than mine. At some point, I really MUST get my gel plate back out, even if it takes an entire day to set it up. Your backgrounds are great. And you have created some absolutely stunning ones, too. I like how you add so very much to yours and that German scrap and those postage stamps caught my eye.

I don't have Netflix, so have no way of watching Kominsky Method. I checked it out and it sounds different.

I really like that journal page you created. I like the background with the stencils and I like the way you combined the words with the background. It's a wonderful entry for Mia's theme at Art Journal Journey, dear.

Your veggie wrap looks wonderful and so do those hashbrowns. I'm sure they went well with your coffee, too. Thanks for sharing your ICADs (mine are shown every Saturday and Cindy shows hers on Sunday), your journal page, and your breakfast wrap and coffee with us for T this Tuesday, dear Linda. Welcome back, dear.

  13. What a lovely breakfast. Looks delicious. No wonder it is your favorite.
I love your index cards! But the challenge sounds quite tough to me. To do 61 cards seems madness. But you enjoy it and that is all that matters.
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Hugs,

  36. Lovely to see the start of your icads, some very varied styles and techniques here to enjoy. When I joined in last year i found that they inspired me to do more artwork but I failed this year. I can enjoy yours though.
Just as i can enjoy the journal page for Mia's butterflies. Lovely background which reminds me of something that will not come to mind but I know I like it.
Your breakfast reminds me of a happy summer day in Encinitas spent with my friend where we shared a breakfast burrito. Oh happy days.
