Today (Monday) is Valentine's Day so I wish you all lots of love. These are some of the cards and decorated envies I made for this year. Joining in with Try It On Tuesday (All Loved Up).
It's not only Valentine's day but it is our son Todd's birthday as well so we had him, Kyra , and my Mom for dinner yesterday. The Super bowl was on for a bit in the background, but, meh- not so into it. After they left, hubby and I watched the Olympics figure skating 👍.
Todd's dinner is my ticket for T Stands For Tuesday this week:
His dinner choice- meatloaf (yes, with real grass fed organic hamburger cuz I wasn't allowed to do plant based meatloaf!), mashed potatoes, baby carrots, dinner rolls, and then dark chocolate cake with icing for dessert. You can see there was water, wine and/or beer for our beverages, and also notice how he just loves allowing me to take photos of him😆.
I have one last group of photos to share from the Katharine Hepburn exhibit (Part one is in my previous post). You can find more challenge art if you scroll past these photos.
another very favorite movie of mine filmed in Venice. There were also framed stills from the filming but no costumes.
A self portrait Kate did of herself as Coco Chanel from the Broadway play. Watercolors on paper-1970
There were many framed stills and costume sketches from her movies and plays sprinkled around the exhibit walls.
Costumes from A Delicate Balance
Another movie I love! The quick witted, sharp, and cutting banter between her character and Peter O'Toole's is priceless😄
One of the dresses and a movie still from The Little Minister 1934. There are quite a few more photos from the exhibit but this will be all I'm posting. You're welcome😉
I found these two old journal pages:
The complete set of special edition stamps I bought are framed and hanging in my art room. So as you can see, to have the opportunity to visit this exhibit was truly a memorable experience of a lifetime which I will never forget.
Okey doke, on to new art! I have this for Tag Tuesday (King, Queen, or Both):
A journal page for Art Journal Journey (What's Your Style?), and Paint Party Friday:
Definitely my favorite style of art journaling is messy mixed media:).
Wishing you happy days ahead!
"I have many regrets, and I'm sure everyone does. The stupid things you do, you regret if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid." Katharine Hepburn
Good evening Linda, the birthday celebration sounded delicious, I was watching the Olympics too-I really enjoy most all of the events.
ReplyDeleteThe museum looks like a really special place with such a large collection of items-thanks for sharing with us.
awesome art too
Happy T Kathy
Katherine Hepburn's style is really one of the best ever. She really understood how to be amazing.

Messy mixed media sounds really good to me! I love that, Linda! The exhibition looks interesting even though I am not very familiar with Katherine Hepburn. Those hats are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI forgot KH was in Lion in Winter. I love that movie too. In fact I think I may have to watch it since it is still going to be very cold again tomorrow. Thanks for sharing all these fun photos from the museum Linda. And thanks for sharing art for both Elizabeth's challenge at AJJ and also for the All Loved up challenge at Try It on Tuesday. I must say Todd's birthday choice is one of my favorites too. Even with the carrots, and especially with the cake. Yummy. Have a great T day and week ahead Linda. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteOh, I have so much enjoyed your posts about Katharine Hepburn! And, I have learned after all these years, I have spelled her name wrong. LOL I forgot about her in Rooster Coghorn! Thanks so much for the fun posts. Happy T DAy!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, your son sure is a lucky guy, it sounds like a superyummy Birthday meal!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Hepburn was not only beautiful, but very wise, too.
Have a great T-Day.
my goodness this is a stunning collection of art pieces! thanks for linking to tag tuesday! xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun birthday dinner you provided to Todd. I would eat it all, except for the meatloaf, of course. You gave us a plethora of drinks, too. thanks for sharing his meal and drinks with us for T this Tuesday, Linda.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed seeing more of the Katharine Hepburn exhibit. I remember reading about Edith Head and how many costumes and artists she designed for. She apparently was a very big name in the industry. I thought of that article when I read her name associated with the Rooster Cogburn Hat. Thanks for sharing these.
I loved the sentiment on your tag. It was a perfect put down. I also was in love with your journal page. I enjoyed the grunge and collage factors. Thank you so much for honoring Bleubeard's and my theme at Art Journal Journey.
Such a treat to see your pictures from the exhibit, Linda, thanks for sharing them. She was special!
ReplyDeleteFun birthday pictures (I love meatloaf - great choice), and super art. Love the textures and the words. I really like your style!
Happy T-day and hugz

ReplyDeleteThe birthday dinner sounds sooo good especially the chocolate cake. I'm so enjoying your Hepburn exhibit. Oooh, I love her shoes; they looks so comfy. The king and queen tag made me smile. Great quote. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteI agree a fantastic post. Wonderful art, fashion and birthday food, whats not to like. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing post! I also read the previous one and I love seeing all the clothes. She was ahead of her time. In Europe it was unlawful for a woman to wear trousers. That changed after the war. In Paris it was illegal until 2013! (Not reinforced obviously).
ReplyDeleteI love those brown shoes. They are the style I would like to wear with my trousers. She has excellent taste!
I love your Valentine cards and I was wondering how you got those hearts all cut out in a straight line. But then I read in your previous post that it is a die.
Belated happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Those old Hepburn journals are awesome ~ did you do them ? ~ Xo

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your son! Thanks for sharing more of the KH exhibition, really love the custom shoes and those hats are so her! The self-portrait is really good too, who knew she was an artist as well! I replied to your comment on my blog asking if the kitties were outside but I will answer here too just in case you didn't see it - only one of them goes out - the one who is injured - but she was a feral/wild cat and is used to being outside, but she comes in at night. The other two are indoor kitties. Sorry for my lateness, it's been quite the week Happy belated T Day Elle/EOTC xx
