Another Summer-Like Day!
Well, we were treated this past Sunday with another gorgeous, sunny, 80 F day! Got back into shorts, tee and flip flops and sat in the sun reading until I had to go in and create the joy of this day in my journal. I chose summery colors and played with stencils for this page.
Saturday we went to La Morena in Hatboro again - an hour or so away- with our friends for dinner. It never disappoints!
They were all decorated for Halloween. And there was SO much food at our table!
We started with nachos and margaritas...and then came the main courses:
chimichangas and fajitas-oh my!
the lovely but shy waitresses:) who helped package not just our leftovers, but take out orders for friends and family:
With food and drinks in tow I am joining in over at Altered Book Lover for T Stands For Tuesday!
The other week I won a gift card for Altenew - an online shop for stamps, dies, inks, paper crafting supplies! I only recently discovered this site through a blog hop and was captured by their unique stamps. So of course along with the gift card I added a few more items:)
I was practicing layering the flower and leaf stamps with different inks. And then I made this card:
I used Distress inks for the colors and Versafine Onyx Black ink for the outlines. Can't wait to play with these flowers some more! Linking to the Simon Wednesday Challenge- anything goes.
Another journal page:
Dina Wakley inspired:) The words are hand carved stamps. Linking to Paint Party Friday at the end of the week. It's a great party you can attend without leaving home- and the variety of art entries is always so inspirational-do have a look!
Have a happy week, and see ya'll soon:)

ReplyDeleteNow that the tricksters have all headed home or maybe the local swimming hole, since it's still nearly 80 F here, I now have time to see what you've been up to this past week. Bleubeard wants to see you, too.
ReplyDeleteI would love to design my life in such bright, bold colors. That's a beautiful page and I really love the stencils you used.
Of course, you know I'm a big fan of authentic Mexican food. This all looks so very good.
You were lucky to win those stamps. That Thanksgiving card is gorgeous, as is the piece you have created for Paint Party Friday. I'm in awe of those hand carved stamps, too.

I am not a fan of Mexican foood myself but it looks yummy yummy. Love your art. It is inspiring!both.Happy T-Day and have a magical week,
ReplyDeleteOh, that Mexican food! I love it! It is nearly lunch time here as I am writing this and my juices are flowing. Strangely enough we don't have any Mexican restaurants around here, but we have Mexican friends and they have introduced us to their food. I am now growing my own chillies....
ReplyDeleteYour lunch with your friends looks like a fun occasion and the waitres, although shy, is a gem!
Congratulations on winning that prize. They certainly look like great stamps. I like the (layered) flowers you made. Brill.
The weather is strange isn't it. Here in Spain it is so sunny too. We still have our meals out on the terrace. Even this morning we had breakfast on the roof terrace where it is normally a bit cool and breezy. But it was lovely this morning.
Happy T-Day and have a good week,
Lisca
Fun post with great art. However I got stuck at "words are hand carved stamps". Those tiny words? Did you carve them? I've tried stamp carving in the past and know I could never do something that small.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous feast you had with leftovers and care packages too :-)
ReplyDeleteTwo more 80 degree days forecast for this week too.
Last week it got so hot upstairs I almost turned on the A/C hah.
Your art pieces are so colorful and fun as always dear Linda.
Happy T Day and Happy November oxo

Our high yesterday tied a high of 87F set back in 1984. I fear we'll never get autumn weather here. I like Mexican food, and I'd certainly have enjoyed what you ordered :) Happy T Tuesday!
