Happy new week! Almost forgot to create this post cuz of hubby being off today (Monday eve as I'm typing) for our Martin Luther King Jr holiday ๐
Yesterday was hubby's birthday so I made him this card (which I am sharing with the Simon Wednesday Challenge (Layer It Up):
A CAS (clean and simple) masculine card. Products; black, silver cardstocks; patterned glitter cardstock (DCWV); birthday sentiment die (Our daily Bread Designs); glitter sequin dot (Recollections).
It was a quiet occasion yet we still celebrated:
And now we celebrate his age by saying "it's another year closer to retirement"! I made him his dinner choice of meatloaf, mashed potatoes and carrots and for dessert- no surprise- a dark chocolate cake with chocolate icing๐ Later in the evening we watched a movie and with it we had champagne and some snacks:
I began by using a damp sea sponge and Dina Wakley paints in Ocean and Lime for the background. It was then stamped with images from the Ellen Hutson set Bokeh Dots and Versafine Onyx Black ink. Then a strip of fabric tape (Recollections) was added before gluing down the fairy (Collage Stuff).I finished it with a butterfly sticker (Paper House), holograph stars stickers (Mrs. Grossmans), Tim Holtz Small Talk Occasions sticker, and black ribbon.
Favorite things? Of course Dina Wakley supplies!! And lots of them on these two pages ๐
I'm not going to list everything but if you have a ? about anything just ask in a comment and I will respond there as well.
Have a wonderful week everyone!
" Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness" Martin Luther King Jr

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your husband. What a lovely photo of him and that yummy cake. Cheese, crackers, and champagne made the movie even more special. Not bad for being "forced" to celebrate alone. Thanks for sharing the celebration with us for T this Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThat is an adorable tag. I really like it. But your journal pages, especially that first one, really spoke to me. I really LOVE that style, which you have mastered perfectly. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey. I plan to study the first journal page again, because I absolutely LOVE it.
Happy Belated Birthday to your husband! I'm liking your cheese tray. That and champagne are what I have planned for the inauguration watching here. Happy T Tuesday!

I would pick your husband's birthday dinner too. Right down to the chocolate cake. It looks delicious Linda. I had to laugh at the one year closer to retirement comment. And your latest artwork is beautiful Linda. Both pages work great for AJJ. Thank you for joining. It is much appreciated. Hope the hubby and you had a great birthday celebration and that you have a great week ahead. Happy T day too. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to him! I'm glad you still celebrated. We try to do that too. Very nice CAS card. It's nice that you made his favorite meal. So he likes old fashioned comfort food? I used to love chcoclate chocolate cake, but my tastes have changed. I would happily join you for champagne and snacks, though.
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day! Stay safe and well. Hugs, Eileen
