Finally we are getting ever closer to spring weather. And it won't be long before Easter is upon us. I made this vintage tag for both Tag Tuesday (theme is Green and/or Blue) and the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge (Easter/Spring). Products: Tim Holtz- Sizzix Thinlits Dies Wildflowers #2, Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Seasonal Chit Chat stickers, Postal washi tape; vintage image (ARTchix Studio); dark green cardstock(Recollections); diecut tag (Colorbok).
I did some more cardmaking over the weekend using two new new dies from Simon Says Stamp, and I will join the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (anything goes) with these three CAS (clean and simple) cards:
Card 1: small white notecard (Recollections); lattice stencil (Dina Wakley); Distress Oxide ink - Bundled Sage; Versafine Onyx Black ink; SSS Etched Meadow Flowers and Leaves wafer dies; SSS Neenah Smooth Desert #100 cardstock; Hampton Arts sentiment stamp.
Card 2: white notecard (Recollections); patterned cardstock (DCWV); SSS Stitched Circles and Privet branch wafer dies, Neenah Solar White #110 cardstock, Moonshine Sequins; birthday stamp (DeNami).
Card 3: small white notecard (Recollections; patterned paper (Stampington); Versafine Onyx Black ink; sentiment (Papertrey Ink); SSS Moonshine sequins.
And now for T Stands For Tuesday, and Food Wednesdays I have dinner, drink, and a recipe to share:
Garlicky Shrimp Sheet Pan Gnocchi
1 pound fresh, shelf-stable or frozen potato gnocchi
2Tbsp olive oil 3/4 tsp kosher salt, divided 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
5 cloves garlic 1 pound medium peeled, deveined raw shrimp 1 lemon
fresh parsley, chopped to garnish (optional )
Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Place the potato gnocchi on a rimmed baking sheet. Drizzle with 2 Tbsp olive oil, season with 1/2 tsp of the salt and 1/4 tsp ground black pepper. Toss well to combine then spread out in an even layer. Roast, stirring halfway through for 12 minutes total. Meanwhile, mince the garlic cloves. Remove baking sheet from oven, Add the shrimp. Sprinkle with the garlic and remaining 1/4 tsp salt and toss to combine. Spread into an even layer. Continue to roast until the shrimp are just cooked through and the gnocchi are plump, 6-8 minutes more. To serve, garnish with a squeeze of lemon juice and chopped fresh parsley. Serves 2-4 depending on your portion size.
Note: I use fresh gnocchi.
Beautiful art as usual, Linda. That leaves dies are pretty and you put them to very good use. The recipe sounds lovely - I think I found a similar recipe in the NYT and since we love gnocchi I will definitely try it.
ReplyDeleteHappy April to you Linda. You have some lovely art today. Thanks for your page for AJJ and Alison's challenge. You picked a wonderful song and made a great page about it. I love the rose in vase. Your garlicky shrimp sheet pan gnocchi looks delicious. I haven't had gnocchi in a very long time, so thanks for the something different for dinner inspiration. I'm sick of winter food and not ready for summer food yet. I hope you have a lovely T and great week ahead. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteDelicious food and seems quite easy to make too. Thank you for the recipe. The cards and the journals pages are so lovely. I always love the backgrounds you create for your pages.

We won't see flowers like that for months! Our spring has begun with a very small nmuber of crocuses -- and a dusting of snow.

ReplyDeleteI am really so sad I do not like seafood.
ReplyDeleteSo healthy and yet... nope. Dad´s genes (Mum and Bro love/d this!).
La vie en rose, mine have had it but I kept the dry leaves.
Yes, I know that song, my Mum was a great fan of "the Piaf" and my French wakes up, working for Alstom now, huhhhhh...
Happy T-Day, voilá, to great food :-)
A fabulous page and song you chose for your journal, thank you for linking to Allison's AJJ theme. I liked all the selection of art you shared today.

Yum, I am going to try this recipe! Lovely art, Linda. Great vintage tag, super cards (lovely die), and love the AJ page. My favorite is the AJ page - such pretty flowers and words. Happy T-day and hugz
ReplyDeleteYou have given us a plethora of wonderful art this week, Linda. It is all so beautiful. The leaf die is amazing. I would love to find that here.
ReplyDeleteI apparently am the only person who has not heard that song before, but it is a beautiful journal page and a genuinely gorgeous entry for Alison's theme at Art Journal Journey.
To my knowledge, I have never had gnocchi. I never turn down shrimp, though. This looks wonderful and I'm sure it went well with your Cabernet Sauvignon. Thanks for sharing your cards, tag, and journal page, as well as your meal with salad and Cabernet Sauvignon for T this Tuesday, dear Linda.
Your recipe sounds delicious! I don't ever have shrimp at home, but this looks like something I could do. Happy T Tuesday
ReplyDeleteReally lovely art. I love the simplicity of elegance you have created. Ohh the shrimp sounds good. It is so expensive here I will have to wait on this recipe. Have a lovely day.

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post about Spring, Linda! It will be here before we know it, and not too soon! I have been longing for it. I absolutely LOVE "La Vie en Rose" and you depicted it beautifully here. (One of my favorite scenes from a movie is the one from "Sabrina" when she's writing home and it's playing in the background!) I love your tag and 3 cars, too. And thanks for sharing your garlic shrimp gnocchi recipe!!!!
