Keeping A Safe Distance

Hello Peeps, surely the whole world is now in the same boat and practicing  keeping a safe distance. As each day passes there are more and more closings and cancellations going into the next two months and some even further away than that. Sad. But it's so much more important to put and end to the illness and deaths from the Corona virus. I hope you are all doing well, and stay that way.

I'm just doing my usual at home. It is SO nice that spring is coming!  I really don't mind staying home at all, and for those of you getting a bit antsy I hope you are finding ways to cope. My best way is staying creative so let's get to the art!

First grab a cuppa and join us for T Stands For Tuesday won't you?

You can see my green tea on the right of my art table. It's been green tea for me in the afternoons lately. On the table is a journal page I have just started. Perhaps I'll have it finished for my next post. I do tend to flit about from one journal to another quite often:)

For the Simon Wednesday Blog Challenge(anything goes) I have this card:

The flower and leaves are covered with Diamond Stickles glitter glue and it looks so pretty in person!
Products: Neena Solar White cardstock; Archival Jet Black ink; alcohol markers; stamp and die set-Floral Frame (Altenew).
Speaking of Altenew, I recently won an Instagram gift card giveaway from them and can't wait for my new stamp/die set and stencils to arrive!

For the Simon Says Monday Blog Challenge(theme is to use the Spring mood board they have pictured), and Tag Tuesday (theme is bunnies and butterflies):

Products: manila tag; decorative napkin; Jet Black Archival ink; Stickles Glitter glue; Tim Holtz Wildflowers die, Small talk stickers; clear bunny stamp from Simon Says Stamp Showers and Flowers set; white pompom- Darice; butterfly stickers- Paper House; fabric washi tape- Recollections; alcohol markers. I added the glitter glue to the wildflower die over the pink flower as well as adding the glitter glue to the flower centers on the napkin background.

 And a journal page:

This page was a mop up to use up the leftover green and aqua paints I had used  for my green themed page in my last post. I opened to this page over the weekend and this is what spilled out. It wasn't what I had in mind, but my thoughts took over and went onto the page. The faces are Dina Wakley Collage Tissue to which I added and extended the black lines a bit with a Micron pen. I also used blank white tissue to computer generate the words to add to my page. For the background painting on both pages (see the other page here)I used a large 2" painters brush, dipped it in water, then into the acrylic paint- the green at one edge of the brush and the aqua at the other. I just repeated to cover the areas I wanted to and also to blend some of the colors a bit.

I will join in at Art Journal Journey for the theme of green, and also Paint Party Friday!

Be safe, be well, and stay creative! Til next time...

  1. Happy T day Linda. You have been on a creative roll. That bunny tag is adorable. I am glad to hear you are healthy and coping with being home. I don't mind being home either, but I only wish for more art/book time andless working time. Although I cannot complain when so many people have been furloughed or even let go. I take it your husband is still home? Stay healthy. Hugs-Erika

  2. Your journal page is SO colorful. I love the placement of the faces. And I love your card with the white space and the glitter. A very elegant card.
So glad that you are not affected a ton by all the craziness going on. It is amazing how they are closing everything. I sure hope we are over this soon. Stay safe.
    Happy Tea Day,
    Kate

  3. You have truly made the most of your time at home this week, Linda. I think your tag is adorable. That bunny is different and I love the bright spring colors.

That's a lovely birthday card. I love the roses and all that sparkle, too. Congrats on winning dies and stencils. Lucky you.

That's a fabulous "mop up" page. I think it is so very appropriate now, too. I love it. Thanks for sharing it with us using Eileen's theme at Art Journal Journey.

I'm not a big fan of green tea, but it's probably because of the green tea I purchased, which was so cheap, I decided to get it to make art. Thanks for sharing your art and your green tea with us for T this Tuesday. I'm SO glad you didn't share food, because I'm starving about now (grin).

  5. The bunny sure made me smile :-)
Not easy with the safe distance. Here some dumb people still have "Corona-parties". In Berlin youth ran up to elderlies (fake?)-coughed at them and screamed "Corona!".
Dumb- and meanness is all around still.
I said hello and good-bye to the security man and he was puzzled, as if no one else did that :-( It made me so sad.
Let´s hope this is over soon! A happy T-day and hugs!

  7. Hi Linda, your tag is really pretty with all the BG colours, Your flower looks nice and you can see the glittery bits but it is annoying that they never look so sparkly on a photo.
We are happy at home although Steve went to collect his new pill schedule and he said it was so good to drive the car, even if it is just up the road, I will need driving lesson soon as I don't drive our newish car very often only on our trips away, oh well I will carry on cleaning my craft room
    Take care, Jan x

  15. Lovely art, Linda. You've kept yourself busy. Beautiful birthday card and darling tag. The "safe distance apart" spread is a powerful statement about how our lives have changed so suddenly and dramatically. You should date it.

Thank you for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey and for all your support of my green theme this month.

    Stay safe and well.

    Happy T-day! Eileen xx

Alex and I are fine at home. Everyone, human and furry, are healthy, though my Jack is recovering from a strain, he's improving daily! I'm so glad spring is here too even though there is still 3 feet of snow out there lol...grateful for the robins singing... :)

  29. You're as creative as ever Linda, so nice to see your work! That little bunny on top of that spring-colored background is so cute, and I love your journalpage. Isn't that the best way to create, just letting everything inside spill out onto the page and see what comes out. Happy PPF and stay safe xox

Love your Bunny tag it's a great them over at Tag Tuesday. 36. Hi Linda you have a lot of art done this week all wonderful. I like what you did with the left over greens. I live in a town that people just don't get it, or believe it, or are just stupid and are not following any kind of precautions. Be safe and Elbow hugs.

  38. Bravo for your cute attitude !! It is true that the best thing to pass the time, apart from our family of course, is to be creative and launch into everything that the imagination brings us. Here it will take us a long time to go for a walk, we will be confined, officially until April 26, but I believe that the periods will lengthen even more.
Your art is fantastic, I love that special birthday card, and the face card too. The tag with the bunny is wonderful, and your Art journal page, so amazing. Great your Art!
I wish you a very nice Tuesday, stay safe and well,
    Big hugs, Caty
