Finding Stillness
How is everyone? The weather has been heavenly here so I am getting my Vitamin D doses from the sun and getting my annuals all planted. And at last, I can finally say goodbye to my cold weather clothing and hang up the tees and tank tops, and bring out the capris, shorts and flip flops!
Above is a detail from this journal page:
It is in my Dina Wakley Media Journal on one of the burlap pages. I used mostly Dina Wakley paints, stencils, and the heart is from her Collage Collective 1 book. This page is meant for the Ranger/Dina Wakley Year of Gratitude Challenge - #9 "I am grateful for stillness". This is from Psalm 46:10 and this and the Sanskrit mantra So Hum "I am" are my go to's when I need some meditative quiet.
I guess you all know by now how much I love Dina Wakley and her products, so.... I am waiting for a box of new supplies including the new Blue Media Journal from Joggles- thanks to a generous GC from my son and his fiancée, and everything I chose was either on sale or discounted-win win!!
The Simon Says Monday Challenge for this week is "We're All A-Buzz" so I have this junk journal page to share:
Scraps of this and that; Tim Holtz Honeycomb Stencil, Distress ink in Black Soot. Sentiment is Cat's Life Press.
And more junk journal pages (in the same journal)...
This one is meant for T Stands For Tuesday:
Tim Holtz Botanical Collage Tissue, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo distress inks. The elegant teacup is an OLD PSX stamp. I figured that since last week I made coffee art this week I'd make tea art for the tea drinkers out there;) Cheers!
Tag Tuesday has a new theme which is "Animals" so I have this page to share with them(or perhaps the bird doesn't qualify as an animal?):
The pretty bird tag was in my bin of ephemera as was the handmade paper scrap and sentiment. I added glitter glue on the scallop edges of the tag.
And this last page is for Art Journal Journey (theme is Flowers); and Try It On Tuesday (theme is Lovely Ladies):
The poppies are from a napkin. Paper Dolls, Chit Chat Stickers- Tim Holtz.
I'm also happy to join Paint Party Friday!
Although PA is slowly moving forward and on -from Red phase to Yellow phase- in the county where I live it is still in the Red phase- and businesses are suffering terribly. Nothing more to say, except keep well everyone. XO
" Sometimes finding that quiet stillness within us is our highest and greatest aspiration."

Hi Linda-Awesome art-loved everything!
ReplyDeleteIt is still cold and a little rainy here but they keep saying sunshine and warm coming this week-can't wait-Happy T wishes Kathy
Wow, Linda, what a fantastic selection of art you are sharing today. They are all so good, I can't pick a fave. Thanks for linking to TIOT and to Tag Tuesday, much appreciated. Glad you are getting into the sun, too. Happy T Day, take care of yourself, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful art lies in all of the individuals. Everyone is so adorable with their details and ideas.
ReplyDeleteGreat, I love your work!
Nice that the weather has got warmer for you, but unfortunately not so because of the cold wind on the coast!
Greetings Elke
Lucky you, it´s cold here, cold! 13C/55F. Hello, May?!
ReplyDeleteOhhh, I love all your art! Guess I´ll buy poppy seeds for when it warms up :-)
A happy T-day to you! XO
More lovely work, Linda. Love your journal page. Psalm 46:10 is my verse of the year, with the addition of 'and listen...' so that's special for me. LOVE your SSS entry, too - the gold thread looks amazing. Always makes me feel good to use up some of the scraps lying around.
ReplyDeleteAs for the weather... it's good to hear that someone can put away their Autumn/Winter clothing. We certainly can't hear. Having broken out all my spring/summer stuff, I've had to revert to the long sleeved tops and cardigans for the last few weeks. I was so looking to today - the forecast being hot and sunny - until I went to feed the birds and felt rain! Only drizzle but it's grey and not nice. I hope tomorrow's forecast is more accurate, lol. At this time of year I sometimes long for a warmer climate - but not enough to make me want to move away. Glad the sun isn't hampering your creativity. Keep it up and keep focusing on that stillness... I certainly will ;-)

Fabulous art projects Linda. Thank you for sharing one with us at Try it on Tuesdays and at Art Journal Journey. It was a lovely poppy napkin you used on the last page.
ReplyDeleteStay safe.

Calling back LInda to wish you a happy T day.

You always make beautiful artwork. I love that green bird. I like your new blog header image. Connecticut is doing a first stage reopen on May 20 (tomorrow), which doesn't look much different from the Lock Down, in my opinion. The Great Abyss Economic Tsunami unleashed has yet to show how detrimental it will be. The weather got nice here, too. Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteI know. I am excited the weather is getting nicer too. It has taken a long time this year. I love seeing all your gorgeous art this week. and thanks for linking to Art Journal Journey. I do like how you used that burlap page in the Dina journal. I always get a little bit stuck on them. I hope you have a super T day and a great long weekend ahead-even though it isn't going to be quite the usual with this virus. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteBeautiful art Linda. Happy Tuesday
ReplyDeleteMuch🦁love
Wonderful creations, love the tag!
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy the many styles of your art, Linda. Your Dina Wakely journal is so bright and bold and then I see a more elegant and refined side of you in your cards and collage. I love it all!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the businesses in PA. We have seen several in our small town have to close. What is sad is it took years to build up to that point. We only had Walmart and McDonald'd for forever. We live in Central PA and our county is finally moving to yellow this weekend. Hoping you are out of the red soon. At least no one can keep you from the sunshine... enjoy the warm weather!
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Wow, such a lovely art-filled post. I love it all. The little birdie is gorgeous and the queen bee is great. Love the (crocheted?) thread.
ReplyDeleteThe quote at the end is beautiful. 'the quiet stillness' is what we call 'The peace that passes all understanding'.And it is something of course only faith in Christ can give you.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
pretties!
ReplyDeleteWe're getting some sun here, but much more rain than I'd expect for the time of year. Happy T Tuesday!
Beautiful post! I'm loving your junk journal pages, they are all stunning 😁. Thanks so much for joining in the fun at Try it on Tuesday and sending you happy T Day wishes! Take care! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot of lovely art to share this week, Linda, So many beautiful things like the Dina entry you shared in your DW journal. It's beautiful, as is the tag you created. That is a lovely bird tag. Clever, too.
ReplyDeleteLOVED the poppies in the art journal. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey.
And I absolutely LOVE your tea inspired art for T this Tuesday.
Our governor opened the country to Phase one, but people are still not going out and buying a lot. Most feel it's still too soon, especially with no testing A story on the news yesterday told how businesses that were allowed to open were only getting about 10 percent of the business they originally thought they would get once they reopened. I hope it's better in your state when they do open.
Lots of imspiring art today, Linda. Gosh you've been productive. I'm sure you'll enjoy your new Dina Wakley toys.
ReplyDeleteI hope your area is out of the red very soon.
Happy T-Day! Eileen xx

ReplyDeleteHi Linda! You have filled your post with such beautiful art work! I love them all!!!! Our weather here in PA has been getting warmer, but woke up to 37 degrees this morning. I brought my recently planted pots in to keep them safe. Hope all is well with you! HUGS!!!
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful pages Linda, it would be difficult to choose a favourite one but I have to mention the bee as I adore those little furry insects. They are part of our city's coat of arms and all the rubbish bins in the city sport a bee on them. In fact I wear bee ear rings almost all the time.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are having steady good weather, yesterday was beautiful and warm here but today is very in and out with the sunshine.
Hugs, Neet xxx
Fabulous art Linda and I do love the design with the bee. The page you shared with us at Try it on Tuesday is just beautiful with those cute children and stunning poppies.

Beautiful cards Linda the Bird with her plumes has a beautiful vintage vibe, but my heart has been taken by the poppies with those lovely ladies standing side by side STUNNING. Stay safe & keep creative Happy PPF Tracey xx
