Where Has Spring Gone?

Oh my - winter has come back!!! Very cold weekend and today we had record breaking cold temps: 26 F (about -3 C) with gusty winds and snow flurries making it feel like 17 F (-7C), and that was the high for today 😱! I sure hope it doesn't kill the budding spring flowers...how are things in your parts?

Needless to say hot tea is what I've mostly been drinking. Speaking of tea, I made this journal page with T Stands For Tuesday in mind:

The background was just some excess paint from another project scraped onto the page with an old credit card. That pretty teacup is from an old calendar page and the words were computer generated. I hope everyone is staying warm! Happy T day!

This next journal page is meant for Tag Tuesday (Faces), and Try It On Tuesday (Say It With Flowers):

I used all Dina Wakley products and the tag is on a dark denim page in her Blue Edition Media Journal.

And though it certainly doesn't feel like spring at the moment I did this journal spread and took photos outside on a much warmer day. this is for Art Journal Journey (theme is Spring), and it actually works also for Try It On Tuesday:)

I used a ton of Dina Wakley products here but will not list them so if you have a ? about anything please ask in the comments.

There is a new challenge for this week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog and I just had to play😁. The theme for this week is "Recycle"

Things I recycled: cardboard box, postage stamps, thread. After peeling away some of the top layer of the cardboard I randomly applied modeling paste in some areas and sprinkled some sparkling glitter on top. Once dry I sponged  Jet Black Archival ink on the edges of everything. I used vintage ephemera from my stash along with  Dina Wakley  Growing mask/stencil set and Fir Gloss Spray. Sentiment is Tim Holtz Small Talk Menus sticker.

It's a free standing piece- the ledger paper behind it was only to photograph the collage. And there you have it from me this week. Have a wonderful week ahead 😘.

  1. I think winter has overwhelmed the entire country, or at least a big part of it. Everyone is writing about the cold spell, the bits of unseasonable snow, the loss of early blossoms. Same here.

  2. We're in this brutal cold too. We were actually having spring and now it is gone. Hopefully it will be back soon. You've made some more wonderful art. Thanks for sharing that great tag with us at Try It on Tuesday, and thanks for sharing that spring page with us at Art Journal Journey. If we can't have spring, at least we can have spring art. Stay warm and have a great T day and week ahead too Linda. Hugs-Erika

Too cold here, too, though!!! On the way up since today - "already" 6C.
Hence tea, tea, tea here, too.

  5. You have created a plethora of art this week, Linda. It is all beautiful. I was really interested in the recycle challenge, since that is what I'll be doing starting the 1st. I was delighted to see your entry for Valerie's theme at Art Journal Journey, too. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Of course, I was really in love with the tea journal page you gave us for T this Tuesday. It is beautiful. Thanks for sharing all your art with us this week, dear.

  6. Yes, a warm cup of tea is always welcome, especially in cold weather. Here we have had a month of non-stop rain! We need it too, after a year of drought.
    Lovely journal art as always.
    Happy T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  11. A cup of tea definitely makes everything better, I agree Linda. Love your pages as always, so bright and happy. Our weather has been really lovely (unusual) but it is to be cold next week so instead of planting the flowers I bought at the weekend, I will keep them indoors a bit longer. Happy T Day! 15. You made some very beautiful art, Linda. I always enjoy seeing how you use the Dina Wakely supplies. I hope it warms up in your corner of the world, those temperatures are just not comfortable. It's spring after all! We just had a couple cooler days and thankfully some good rain which we desperately need. It's too late to make a dent in the drought, but we take every little bit we can get. Happy T day!

  18. So cold here too. Tomorrow the schools are planning a flex day as we are expecting a wintry mix. Ugh! I would be freezing without my tea.
Loving your tags and journal page. The vintage tag really is lovely!
